Great experience! My Yorkie, Coco, was seen immediately by tech and Vet. Everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. Annie prescribed anti-inflammatory pain med and even took the time to trim Coco's nails at no cost. Coco is doing better with her joint pain and limp. So grateful for Dr. Annie's help! The place is clean and organized, and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend "Emergency Pet Care".

When your puppy swallow a hand towel whole.

The staff and drs here are amazing. I had to bring my puppy in because he had swallowed a whole hand towel he didn't shred it it was whole. I brought him in and he vomited it up while we were walking in the room. They did x-rays to make sure there was nothing else in his stomach or intestinal tract. The entire time the staff was informative and polite. The prices are better then any of the other emergency clinics. I would 100% recommend this place to take your pets in an emergency.

This is Heidi and this was taken while we waited, in vain, to be seen and after a lengthy "seizure".

June 8, 2023 Called yesterday and spoke to "Faith" and explained my dog was having seizure like fits and my primary vet believes she is having seizures and suggests I euthanize her. Knowing it's impossible to get in with a regular hours type vet, I asked Faith if I could transfer the notes and tests from my primary visit the day before and get a second opinion at their ER hospital. Faith said, "We absolutely can do that for you." and proceeded to give me the fax # and email address for my primary vet to send those records. Faith cautioned that they are a walk in clinic and they open at noon. I had the records sent. Drove 1hr 1/2 to this ER hospital arriving at approximately 12:15pm. Called the number on the window to check in and got told "No, we don't do second opinions. We are not a diagnostic clinic. We don't treat seizures here. You need to go to a specialty clinic." She hung up on me when I understandably got upset that I was not going to be seen. I called back and tried to tell her that I'm not convinced she's even having true seizures and I'd like the vet to examine her. I told her she was having one of the seizing "fits" in my car. Please note, the name of their hospital literally states "Veterinary SPECIALTY CARE". Again, she hung up on me after saying I'd have to wait. I got out of my car, carrying my seizing dog, and tried to enter the building but the door was locked. As I stood at the door, I called back again, because she didn't even take my name. I didn't know if I was in the queue or not! Spoke to a different woman who told me that it didn't matter what their receptionist (Faith) told me. I told her I expected a little professionalism and she said, "I expect you to have a little patience." I told her that "I had been hung up on, TWICE, and nobody even took my name, yet. I had zero confidence that anyone was going to help me!" She then told me, "I'm not the one you should be yelling at." Implying that she held some kind of position of power that I better kiss up to. She said that there is only one doctor there and two "girls" who are trying to handle "real" emergencies. She took my name and said "it would be a minute" and someone would call and "talk to me". That's not the same as "you're checked in and someone will come get you." Please note that their website states they can do: Diagnostic Testing In-House Laboratory Pet Exam Routine Veterinary Care Specialty Care I left and will take my chances at the CDA ER hospital when they open in 6 hours. Hopefully, my sweet dog, Heidi, will hold on til then, no thanks to these people. Of course, I was upset. Anyone who was treated that way would be I made the mistake of believing their staff the day before and for stating I wanted a second opinion. Evidently, a dog seizing in a car is not something this emergency vet hospital can handle. My dog should have been treated the same as any other walk in and they should have at least put us in the queue and examined her and possibly treated her with medication. That's what they are expected to do as an emergency facility. Hopefully, you saw me flip you off as I pulled out of your parking lot. This review is verbatim. Any rebuttal from this place are lies. They refused service. They said it wasn't an emergency (active seizures). They said they "don't treat seizures". They said they "never give second opinions". If you're forced to come here, good luck. If you have the option of choosing another location, please do. The veterinarian might very well be the most dedicated & professional and capable veterinarian in the area, but I'll never know due to their staff screening what they deem are true emergencies. Edited to add: I sat in a fast food parking lot while a wonderful nurse at a regular vet office made calls to 7 different vet clinics to try and get me seen today. For the record, every one of those vet offices, EVERY SINGLE ONE, stated they regularly send cases to this er hospital and the CDA er hospital for second opinions. Let alone the fact that my dog was actively seizing in the car in their parking lot.

This is beautiful Spencer, just last week. Only 9 years old.

UPDATE: (If you've had trouble with Emergency Pet Care, please email me gineenb1@live.com. We are all gathering) Vet, Annie Bowes is now playing cruel, passive aggressive games to further wound my 80 year old Mama. When I found out they never euthanized Spencer and he spent another night suffering, I implored to Annie Bowes that my mother could not endure knowing her beloved cat had suffered even longer. I relayed how imperative it is that my mother never find out and from now they need to only contact me, not my mom!! Annie agreed at the time, but chose to ignore my caution. After our conversation she sent my mom a passive aggressive apology MEANT to inflict more pain and purposely listed dates to inform my mom of Spencer's prolonged suffering. Also included was a bill for an extra $500 on top of the $1700 they stole from my account with no permission or signature. In my opinion, Annie Bowes and her minions are EVIL, NARCISSISTIC, POOR EXCUSE for a human beings. Please read all the 1 ratings on google and yelp. Our full story is there and on my Facebook. No wonder they give a $25 credit for reviews. I am begging people NOT to enter this facade of pet "care". It would be better to have your pet die in your loving arms rather than expose them to the pain this dark place will inflict on you and your pet if they don't like the way you look/act when you are worried and grieving. Once your pet is admitted they make you and your pet suffer with control, bizarre demands, and cruelty. We are still in disbelief. They even lied and blamed the police officer who arrived to aid my mom and said they gave instructions not to euthanize Spencer, as we were waiting for remains and to keep him another night. she went as far as to say she sent the police department the bill. I went to the police station and the officer gave them no such order regarding Spencer's care, and they are not responsible for a vet bill. This place can do all this lying and inflicting abuse on the elderly and keeping a pet alive while suffering after they've been told to euthanize, who knows what they do to the animals behind their constantly, 24/7, locked doors.

Went in last Monday at 5:00 pm. After waiting in the car for over an hour we finally got called to transfer our dog so she can be seen! (No humans allowed in !) They examined Kona's ear and called to tell us it would be 600-800 dollars to repair the ear. We declined that treatment but did get the Different medicines that were recommending we were told they would clean the air up and shave it none of that was done! There was no care recommended either as we couldn't afford $600 to 800 dollars for a couple stitches. Since then I've learned I could've just use superglue however I didn't know and my vet was not open unfortunately. Absolutely the worst service ever and their prices are out of this world really that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of for a small Suture in her ear! Zero advice on care!

If I could give negative stars, I would. We brought my Bandit, a very healthy, happy and active 5 year old St. Bernard Mix, into the emergency clinic when he came home from playing at the beach in extreme pain, a hunched over position with a very rigid abdomen and wouldn't even walk into the house without urging. Immediately we knew he needed a vet and when we saw Dr. Annie Bowes she watched him walk around the room and gave him a once over, then reassured us he had just played too hard and probably had a knee injury. She instructed us to ice, give him rest, sent some pain killers, and said he would be back to himself in a week or less. We asked about X-rays and possible spine or internal injuries referring to his rigid abdomen and posture but were told it was a normal reaction to pain. By Tuesday he wouldn't lift his head off the floor to greet us and we took him to our vet at Alpine. Within five minutes Dr. Jim knew he had a serious internal issue and he would need to stay overnight and have a full work up. His blood came back normal but his urinalysis was extremely abnormal, so bad that he was basically in kidney failure. By this point the swelling in his abdomen was so severe that the X-ray and even ultrasound were indeterminate. Wednesday afternoon we went into surgery to find out what was really going on. He died in surgery. His bladder had ruptured Sunday and if the tests had been run Sunday night he would have had a good chance of being here with me now. Instead I have a chunk of hair, paw print, too many half chewed tennis balls, and a bed that's too big. All three vets who helped with Bandit's ultrasound and surgery expressed confusion and/or frustration at Dr. Bowes exam notes, evaluation, and conclusion.

We brought him in, and the doctors quickly took x-rays and discovered he had a string wrapped around the base of his tongue, which can be very dangerous. The doctors and staff were incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding throughout the entire process. They clearly explained the situation and the recommended surgery, but it was unfortunately far outside of what we could afford. When we asked if there were any other options, even if they carried more risk, they took the time to listen and worked with us. They agreed to carefully cut the string under his tongue and allow the remaining piece to hopefully pass on its own. They were honest about the risks, but they respected our situation and helped us pursue the option that gave him a chance while still being financially possible for us. They also gave him anti-nausea medication, fluids, and pain management to support his recovery, and made sure we understood exactly what to watch for at home. I'm so grateful for how kind, nonjudgmental, and caring everyone was during such an emotional and stressful time. It was clear they truly cared about our cat and wanted the best possible outcome while also being respectful of our financial reality. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone facing a pet emergency.

Emergency Veterinary Hospital

When we arrived, the waiting room was empty and we were taken back to a room fairly quickly. From there, everything fell apart. We then sat in that room for an extended period while multiple other cases were brought in and seen ahead of us, with no communication, no updates, and no reassessment. It felt like once we were placed in a room, we were effectively forgotten. I made it very clear to staff that our dog has an extremely high pain tolerance--including a history that would make most dogs shut down long before showing pain--and that if she is vocalizing and guarding, something is seriously wrong. That concern didn't seem to change anything. We understand triage. We are not asking to be seen before critical cases. But there is a difference between triage and complete lack of communication or interim care. At a minimum, an emergency hospital should: * Reassess patients waiting in rooms * Communicate realistic expectations * Provide some level of pain management for animals in obvious distress None of that happened. We left with the impression that unless your pet is actively dying, you can expect to sit--unseen and unmanaged--for hours. That's not an acceptable standard for an emergency facility.

This place is very thorough and that's what pets need true care I appreciate this hospital…read more Tim T
