For sure Palm Springs or Coachella valley has had its ups and downs with theater venues focused on…read morespecific demographic and wallet size. Follow the money I get it. But Plaza Theater is so refreshing, we've attended 5 events here and all have been great. Play, concerts, and things like Better Late which was a fund raiser for the treater. SHORT ANSWER: Yes, don't over think it, find an event and go for it. LOCATION: New location of a historic theater, so beautiful and well managed, everyone is welcomed as well as casual desert dress attire seems to be the code of dress. FACILITY: Reclaimed and feels historic, easy to park, have dinner before or after the show. LIBATIONS: beverages are available on site and at drinkable at your seat, cost is what costs are, this is for the betterment of the Theater so appreciate the high costs are going to the Theater not some out of control philanthropic organization that does not need any more money. STAFF: As far as I know, all volunteer and all very nice. Getting in is a phone thing showing your tickets, I figured it out so it is not too hard. I am sure you can kill a tree and print your ticket as well. OVERALL VALUE: Events are kind of expensive but worth it... TIP: Depending on time of year, dining before and event can be quiet and enjoyable. Dining after you may find a lot of partying over served people having too much fun, but that is okay just not my thing.

It was all I could do to exit the dance floor, and I could barely walk the next day. Imagine my dismay when I found out there was no elevator to get up to my balcony seats. The gentleman who collected our tickets offered us padded folding chairs at the back of orchestra level, which I was more than grateful for. About 10 minutes later one of the docents came to us and had aisle seats 10 rows back, as someone had to cancel. I was flabbergasted and extremely grateful. The way that they accommodated my spouse and I and made our one year anniversary celebration an enjoyable experience in spite of my pain, will never be forgotten.

They have a polite and professional staff - but one of my favorite aspects is their welcoming volunteers and the mostly volunteer performers who donate so many hours to their art. Bravo! The venue's life began as one of Palm Springs' first school gymnasiums, so it's a bit dated, but in a good way. It's an intimate space with the first row starting immediately at the stage. It has a nostalgic and friendly feel. The steps to the seating are a bit steep, so if guests need a little more physical consideration - try to let the box office know, and they'll graciously try and accomodate them. They have a small but adequate concession area with fair prices. The adjacent parking lot fills up fast, but there's another lot a short block away. There are a host of small eateries nearby, so consider going early to get the best parking and enjoy a full evening of good food and great entertainment. Roger Medanich

I have only been here almost a dozen times but each time we leave feeling better than we entered. Want to know why? Because we laughed so hard and shed some tears in the process. We were fortunate enough to have seen the Christmas show with Jeff's daughter. It was such a wonderful show with her pianist and saxophonist accompanying her and multiple costume changes. We also enjoyed seeing her father perform. I must say I look for the shows where it's mainly Jeff Hobson performing because he is so funny, so talented, and he has such incredible timing with quick wit that it literally tickles my brain. Arrive an hour prior to the show and enjoy the entertainment in the lobby. You can order something to drink from the bar. Just make sure you've made dinner plans before or after the show as there's no food available. You will be treated to either musical talent or magical talent prior to the main show in the auditorium. Choose the front row if you REALLY want to participate. Great for celebrating special occassions.

When I heard they would be at Marvyn's, I made sure to secure tickets. The theater is nicely laid out and makes for an intimate experience. They have entertainment before the start of the show and an amazing bar. I believe this show was sold out. In the seating area they have hilarious sayings on the screen over the stage. Wish I could remember them. Photography is forbidden in the theater. Anyhow, they are true entertainment professionals and know how to work the room. There were several things they did that we had our mind boggled. But we're the types who don't want to find out and rather like keeping the mystery intact. Amazing really doesn't begin to describe their show. We were beyond impressed. They kind and gracious to do a meet & greet after the show. It was a most enjoyable and magical evening!

The outside surrounding around the museum was the highlight of my experience from the flowing stream, waterfall, and Palm trees felt we were in a different place. As we walked into the museum, staff were kind enough to check us in. Admission prices for adults are $10 and children $5. Was it worth the visit? In my honest opinion, I didn't think it was worth the $10 due to the museum being quite small. Literally, our visit lasted under about 30 mins with about 3 exhibit rooms. In the beginning, you'll get seated in a small theatre to watch a history film on how Agua Caliente started. Really interesting facts with visual animations telling a story of Cahuilla Indians. Afterwards, you get to explore the rest of the museum. Very nice layouts of unique artifacts and displays throughout. Before you leave, check out the gift shop with awesome souvenirs. I'm glad I took the time to visit this museum because I wouldn't know the history of Agua Caliente grounds.
