She put me totally at ease and took tons of photos with different lighting and poses. She sent me the contact sheet quickly so that I could pick the images I wanted, and then she sent me the final versions, which turned out great. It was important for us to find a photographer who was an artist, willing to try new techniques and push boundaries, and Lauren's work certainly reflected that. We hired Lauren and her partner for our Western Massachusetts wedding. We wanted someone who was chill and wouldn't stress us out. That's exactly what we got. She and her partner were clever shadows all day -- floating from room to room, sneakily setting up beautiful shots with rings and flowers, yet stopping to poke us whenever they saw an opportunity for an interesting shot. I felt completely at ease with her, and I felt that her photographs perfectly captured the story of our day. We had a space-themed wedding, and it was our dream to have some night photography done (which is typically not an easy feat.) Lauren took note of our wishes, and surprised us with not one but dozens of gorgeous shots of the night sky dotted with stars, complete with Milky Way bands. The only problem we have is figuring out which of her beautiful shots to get framed. I have been holding my head a little higher in the days since my shoot, what a confidence boost!!! It was just what I needed and more than I could have ever imagined. It's known to some that I had an eating disorder and body dysmorphia 30 something years ago, for which I sought treatment (back in the day when it wasn't really a positive thing to do so.) The birth of my children made things easier for me to accept myself the way I was and I have kept my negative behaviors in check because of my children, but in the last year or so I could feel my mind obsessing about my flaws and my size, which has been getting increasingly larger due to many health conditions and the inability to work out in any form, including walking. I was browsing Facebook one day and saw a photo shoot that Allie had done and decided it was finally time, even at my heaviest, I thought this would be a good reason to work on my health, I now had a goal. I was so nervous!!! This was so not me, so far out of my comfort zone, but I did it, I booked my session for my 52nd birthday. I didn't actually lose the weight I had hoped to and considered canceling multiple times, but something kept telling me to just do it!!! And I am so glad I did!!! I have never felt more beautiful and confident in my whole life!!! Allie is amazing to work with and talks you through every step. The photos she took really capture the true me!!! There were genuine smiles and real laughs in some of the photos and those were my favorites, they were so real!!! Allie is such a talented photographer!!!
