The engagement shoot lasted an hour and a half and at the end we were rewarded with over 300 stunning photos in a matter of 2 weeks. We were so in love with our engagement photos that we got even more excited for our wedding day. Alex went above and beyond for us on our big day. Her passion, talent and skill combined blew us away. Alex showed up at our getting ready location a few minutes early to setup, learned everyone's names in the wedding party quickly and all at the same time she figured out the best places to take photos of me, the bride, the bridal party and the groomsmen. Alex was somehow able to maneuver like magician, always present where she had to be and when she needed to be there. We gave Alex lots of creative freedom, in that we allowed her to capture events unfold as they did and we are so glad this was our approach. Our wedding photos are SO beautiful and truly capture every feeling and important detail of our big day - whether big or small. Not only do we have stunning formal photos with our family and wedding party, but also hundreds of reception photos of us and our 120+ guests having a wonderful time dancing, laughing, and crying tears of joy. We found Alex after a reference given to us by another photographer said that he wished he had hired Alex as his wedding photographer instead of the photographer we were asking him about! We are so lucky that we found her - Alex was amazing. She immediately put us at ease during our engagement session, and on the day of our wedding. She's very calm, flexible, extremely nice, and professional. And above all and most importantly, she is a super talented photographer. She got some wonderful shots during my "getting ready", the ceremony, and the reception. She took over 1200 photos on our wedding day and there were literally only a handful that were duds. She even got good shots of people who aren't very photogenic. Alex was great at gently giving us direction of where to look or how to pose so that the photos came out great. She's reliable, punctual, easy to communicate with via email or phone... there is literally nothing negative to say! We are extremely lucky we found her. She did a superb job at capturing our happiness on our wedding day and the lively party at our reception! Some notable particulars: She gives you DVDs with all of the images, and rights to all of the images, of both the engagement shoot and wedding day. She will also "touch up" / photoshop if there are any pics that you want altered - for example, I asked her to remove the name of the limo company from the umbrella so the photo of me getting out of the limo and arriving at the church didn't look like an ad for the limo company! My fiancé and I did an engagement shoot with Alex, and we couldn't be happier with the process or with the results! We did our shoot in Harvard Square, and, over a couple hours, took shots ranging from the Charles River to the middle of Harvard Yard. Alex used the variety of backgrounds expertly to create compositions that captured the scenery without letting the scenery dominate us in the photographs. Alex took a mix of candid and posed photos. She used her creativity to suggest poses that fit our personalities, which was very important to us. She also suggested poses outside of our comfort zone, which we were free to accept or decline. It is fortunate that we accepted many of them because they are some of our favorite pictures. Sometimes, in order to get pictures of us walking down the street without our being aware of the gaze of the camera, Alex would run ahead of us toting pounds of camera equipment--and my fiancé's coat! This put us at ease and allowed her to capture candid pictures of us interacting spontaneously. Alex was accommodating and flexible throughout the shoot, and eminently patient as my fiancé was battling a cold. She found the flattering angles that made us look the very best. I've been wanting to get portraits of my children for a while now, but didn't want the generic pictures you get from the mall studios with props and plastered on smiles. I also wanted it to be something my kids would actually enjoy and not suffer through... When a friend of mine who was recently married recommended Alex, her wedding photographer, I looked at her website and was really impressed with the natural beauty of her portraits. When she showed up for our session, she did not disappoint. She was friendly and goofy - the kids loved her and had a ball! And she got some really fun, unexpected shots. I also liked that she came to our home and was able to work with our crazy schedules. We ordered a CD of photos from the session and are thrilled with how everything came out! We got to work with Alex 4 years ago when my sister got married. Everyone loved their engagement pictures and their wedding pictures so the first thing I did was get Alex booked after we got engaged. My fiance and I were very nervous and apprehensive about the engagement photos but she made us feel very relaxed and guided us through the pictures and we were very pleased with how they turned out. I have facial paralysis on one side of my face and I usually try to dodge the camera but she did such a great job on my wedding day making me feel comfortable and I couldn't be happier with the pictures. I have received many positive comments about her great photography skills when I sent around the pictures to all my friends and family. I have got my portrait session done outdoor last week with Alex and i am extremely satisfied with the quality of the photos i got. Alex is a wonderful photographer. She was very patient and always smiling. We took about 250 pictures in two hours. We have got the session done in two locations with few outfit changes. She also checked my outfits and suggested backgrounds to match my outfits. She is very artistic with the pictures. She has very good idea about what background, outfit and expression and pose look good in the pictures. All my pictures are high resolution ones and i love to look at them everyday. Alexandra Jarige is an amazing photographer! She did the photographer for my wedding last month. We did some formal shoots on along the coast in Gloucester before the ceremony and then she captured the ceremony and short reception on a schooner! She is the only photographer I know of that has experience taking photos on a boat (twice now, I think!) She met with us at a coffee shop before the wedding to get to know her a little and she made a great list of suggested poses and moments to capture. Alex was amazing all during her photo shoot of our beloved 2-year old granddaughter last summer. With our toddler having a total meltdown of crying, running, kicking, and screaming (and an unprecedented finale of rolling over into the pool!), Alex remained the consummate professional, steady, focussed, sweet, patient and with good humor. She delivered an album from this shoot, presenting both imp and angel, and no red eyes, runny nose, dirt stains or dripping clothes. My fiance and I had engagement pictures done with Alex and she was amazing! She was so relaxed and easy going...She let us be as goofy and silly as we are doing handstands and cartwheels and jumping off stairs but she also gave us direction sometimes when we needed it so our pictures had us looking like models!
