    Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan
    Caroline K.

The food here is exceptional. We started out with masala chai and samosas, and the samosa crust was perfectly fried and flaky. For the entree we got goat korma and butter chicken with garlic naan and rice. Both curries had great flavor and the naan and rice were both cooked perfectly. The owner is very attentive and made sure we liked everything we were served. The inside of the restaurant is also very well decorated and incredibly clean inside.

We dined in on a Saturday evening and we were impressed with the extensive menu. Barely missed the buffet but definitely want to come back. Our first time order at a new Indian restaurant is always, chicken Korna and chicken Tikka. Both were really good, the korna was creamy and spice level was medium, great deep flavor and loved that it had sliced almonds; Tikka was spicier and had a beautiful deep orange color and intense spice flavor, both came with a good portion of basmati rice. he naan was really soft and pliable with a hint of garlic flavor not overpowering at all. The service was very attentive and everyone was very welcoming. As for the ambiance, there's not much but, this is the kind of restaurant you come for the food and the people and sometimes that's all you need. Will definitely go back to try the buffet!

Update 8/30: This place changed owners apparently five months ago. I didn't realize it'd been that long since the last time we'd been. The decor is different and the food is not as good. They used to have some of the best food, especially naan around. I'm so bummed!!

Everything needs to be changed!!! Horrible food, overpriced, pathetic customer service! We used to be frequent customers almost every other Fridays. However recently when we visited realized everything is changed- per person buffet prices are increased, ambience is changed, buffet menu is changed! Interestingly nothing good!! Regarding since we were interested to try this new menu, we agreed to dine - in for the buffet. The server asked us Garlic Naan or butter naan. And we started our lunch. Everything on the trays was cold. :-( When asked to refill with fresh hot food, they microwaved and got the stale appetizers. The bread on fish had become rubbery. Horrible taste had seeped in due to microwaving. Later the server refused to refill more naan saying only 1 naan is included in buffet and remaining additional naan would get charged. Astonished we asked to bring more so atleast we can have lunch, however whichever entree we tried to serve from buffet- they were all stale and horrible taste! Never ever eat in this place again! Please don't waste your money for a pathetic dining place like Annapoorna. The new management has ruined everything!

Wow, absolutely loved the deep flavors of the dishes at this establishment. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with friendly and very caring staff. We were hungry and each ordered a dish so we could have a family style dinner. Mushroom masala, butter chicken, palak paneer, and yellow lentils tadka. Each entree comes with a bowl of rice so we had an additional order of butter naan and garlic naan. You can order specific spice level Per dish! I saw that there is a lunch buffet available at this restaurant which I am definitely coming back to try!

We tried the lunch buffet today. It is 13.99 for lunch buffet. They provide Butter or Garlic naan as an option in buffet and bring to table. Food was ok. Veg rice options are limited. They have chicken biryani and plain rice. Family showed up after which, I believe they requested Veg biryani and the owner/manager agreed to serve to table. My wife who is also a vegetarian asked for the same, owner/manager was reluctant as it was only one person but eventually agreed to bring one to us. Rest of the food was ok. Gulab Jamun was awesome!

    Cheese Naan

I went to Annapoorna and ordered takeout. They did not have Dal Makhani. I ordered gobi Manchurian, paneer tikka masala, cheese naan, and parotha. This was the biggest and most disappointing $40.01 that I have ever spent. I was craving excellent Indian food. Even the customer service was terrible. The menu would not come up due to the website not working. I honestly believe I got someone's leftovers. The tikka masala is gritty.

Excellent food and courteous welcoming service. I just had lunch here today with my family. There were many items in the buffet, couldn't try all, below are what we tried out: Appetizers: Chilly fish - super spicy but delicious Veg pakoras - slightly dough heavy but delicious Veg spring rolls - slightly undercooked but still yummy Chilly chicken and tandoori chicken - perfect Entrees: all excellent (palak paneer, mushroom masala, navratan korma, dal makhani, butter chicken, chicken curry Goat curry was very gamy, thankfully only took a tiny piece which did not eat Rice: basmati rice and chicken biryani were both super flavorful. We were pleasantly surprised by the soft, buttery and fluffy butter and garlic naans that were served separately at the table in baskets after taking our orders for them Dessert: rava kesari/suji halwa was ok. Loved the small fresh gulab jamuns All in all well worth the $45 plus gratuity, looking forward to come back soon. Surprisingly good for a buffet

Customer service was great, and the food was even better! So rich and delicious! I'm so happy we found this hole in the wall. They also have buffet options too

Fantastic new Indian buffet. My hubby and I went last Friday and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to going back again this Friday. We loved all the food- tandoori chicken, garlic naan, vegetable korma, Curry chicken, palak/saag paneer, vegetable rice, mint chutney, butter chicken, chili chicken, halwa, and gulab jamun. The service was wonderful, as we were offered a refill of the naan, and also 2 kinds - either butter or garlic naan. We loved garlic naan, as we often have naan with ghee at most Indian buffets. The ambiance was quiet and intimate. The restaurant is pretty small, and even though the buffet area is small, they pack a lot of options in it. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We felt welcomed and encouraged to return. We are definitely coming back as often as we can and highly recommend this wonderful new place.

First, many of the dishes lacked the authenticity. The hot and sour soup wasn't sour at all and was overwhelmed by the flavor of sesame oil. The black bean noodles tasted like instant noodles you could make at home, and we ended up adding black vinegar ourselves just to bring some acidity and balance to the dish. The sweet chili shrimp also didn't taste fresh. At the end of our meal, we literally said "this tasted like Chinese buffet food." The service and dining environment made the experience even worse. Throughout our meal, we constantly heard dishes being slammed around from servers cleaning tables. At one point, something was dropped so hard that dishes shattered across the floor. A trash cart was parked right next to our booth while we were eating, and the staff even started mopping the floor directly in front of us during the lunch rush. I understand that restaurants often hire seasonal staff during the summer, but proper training is still important. The way the dishes were handled throughout our meal was loud, chaotic, and disruptive, making it difficult to enjoy our dining experience. It's unfortunate because our first experience of this restaurant was great, but this visit fell well short of our expectations.

The ordering process was completely digital. We scanned the menu code with our phones and then selected our dishes ourselves. There was very little "human" touch. I still prefer having a server come take our order, which also makes the tipping decision easier. Anyway, we enjoyed the food and will probably come back again.

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

The servers were kind and hustling nonstop. That said, it looked like they were a bit understaffed for a Saturday lunch rush -- only two employees were handling seating, orders, drinks, and checkout for the whole restaurant. Still, they did their best, and it showed. I tipped generously - well deserved. Ambiance: Clean, nicely decorated, and a fair size space. My party of five was seated quickly with no issues. Food: Unfortunately, this is where things fell flat. The jja jang myun noodles texture and chew were great, but the sauce was underwhelming and lacked depth. The jjampong portion was huge (great value!), but it too was on the bland side -- missing that rich, spicy seafood flavor I was hoping for. The sweet and sour fried pork was just okay, nothing memorable. Overall, Dong Bo Sung is fine if you're nearby and craving this type of cuisine -- you'll definitely leave full -- but for me, it didn't quite hit the mark. I'm a bit spoiled by Paik's Noodle, so this one lands at a solid 3 out of 5.
