First, this is like walking into a fairytale with some of these dresses. They had such a large variety, I was shocked. There was young girls trying on these beautiful gowns. Some in red, others in gold and some in burgundy, I think you could find anything in here, long , short or cocktail dresses and every color option. Each dress was so full of personality, of course they all looked beautiful. I am not sure someone can look bad in these dresses. When you put one one, you just feel like a princess. The ladies in the shop were very nice to us, asked us if we needed any help, talked about the weather. They were very down to earth. The gowns ranged around $300 - 500, but there was a back wall with ones on sale, they were around $200. I thought this was a pretty good price. I liked the selection here. It is the only store that posts a sign. "Please remove shoes before entering". I think this is so no one would catch the shoe while trying on the dress.

They wouldn't let my friend go into the change room with me, our bags were taken behind the cash register (who would try to smuggle out 11 layers of toule?), and no pictures were allowed to be taken of me trying on the dress. Not-So Hot Hint: Don't plan on being able to zip and unzip yourself, I was reprimanded and given the "you break it you buy it" line for doing just that.

They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.

I arrived to pick them up at 11:35am while on my way to work, and I ended up having to wait 5 minutes while he finished one of my pants in front of me. It wasn't a big deal, but if I I had come at 11am when he said they would be done then I would have waited 40 minutes or I would have had to come back to get my pants on another day. I would recommend this tailor, but I would suggest giving them more time to finish your items, even if they sound confident that they will have it done in a couple of days.

When I went to pick it up she ring me in as 254$, and I said I was so happy it was all cleaned. She then told me it has a purple tag on it. She told me it didn't come clean. I opened my dress bag and it looked the same as the day I brought it home. She was rude and I asked to speak to the manager, he was also rude and said their work wasn't gaurteed. I was NOT told that in the beginning. Having to pay 254$ I would have thought my dress would be cleaned! He wouldn't offer a discount at all. They lost my business and my families and friends. I made sure I told everyone. I should add, when I got home and took my dress out to look it over good, there was also a rip in my dress. I didn't even bother calling them. I would reccomend not going there . I'm now out 254$ for a dress that can't be worn , I can't even give it away to someone who might be in need.

So, the next best thing is to search out a great tailor close to where ever you are living, create a great rapport and you will have peace of mind. Angela's has been here for some time now, well as long as I can remember. I have taken clothing there for alterations as well as dry cleaning and never had any issues.

As well I she gave me a tartan throw that was a symbol of my last name. Hats and spoons to post cards thimbles just to name a few things that you will be able to purchase here.

Blue for the ocean, white for the surf, green for the forests, gold for the Royal Charter granted in 1621, and red for the Lion Rampant as seen in the Nova Scotia crest.. Wonderful reminders of a trip to Nova Scotia and this shop is ideally located in the heart of tourist Halifax - right in Privateers Wharf. And in case plaid is not your thing, what about a beautiful Irish hand knit sweater or Scottish pottery or Burns crystal to take home? They used to sell Haggis in a can, but apparently there are labeling issues and so...that's on hold for now.
