They had lots of earrings and bracelets in the $10-$25 range. I really didn't look at much else in the store, but they had beads, wooden knick knacks, pillows, and clothing that looked like they were from Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand, among other things. I loved these kinds of stores in my middle school and high school years, but it's not quite my aesthetics anymore, with the exception of the jewelery, because I still love sterling silver, it's the most suitable metal for my colouring. I had a great time browsing their large jewelery section. I almost bought the cutest bracelet, but it was a tad too big for me :( Staff were very nice. (Periwinkle, charcoal, rose pink, nude, and flecks of colour amongst it all!) Its actually a breath of fresh air, and a different variety from other independent boutiques in the area. I was elated to discover the accumulation of Free People frocks, which is probably my favorite [semi] affordable brand of all time. The owner mentioned that they would be getting more in soon-- whoo hoo! The overall stock seems romantic, flowing, and of excellent taste. Cute tops, rich fabrics and cuts are here for the taking. I think its safe to say that Wildflower has Bohemian Romantic down. The owner of the shop offered me genuine conversation and an easy shopping experience. I was the only patron at the time, so we chatted as I browsed. There was no pressure, no facade-- just good conversation and a shop full of wonders. After much swooning and chit-chat, I know this is a boutique I can dig. Besides the clothes, there were also some pretty neat accessories. I'd say the owner of Wildflower has a great eye. Mic Mac has a food court and plenty of specialty food places including Jugo Juice, Perks Coffee, Orange Julius, A&W, Starbucks, and Tim Horton's (yummo!). We did some shopping here recently to check out some stores such as HMV, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, Sony Style, and The Source At Circuit City. MicMac is a good size mall, but it was very crowded inside on a Saturday morning and we had to park way out in East Bumf--k. Anyways, we spent a good 90 minutes shopping here. I picked up a few things on sale at Old Navy and Winners and had a good cup of coffee at Perks. Next stop for us was, Downtown Halifax for an afternoon of chill time.

When you first enter the store you'll find yourself faced with tables and tables of adorable nick nacks and homewares to browse though - so many cute mugs and beautiful candles! One day I dream that my home will be filled with them. They've also got journals, books, even a kids gift section. Further back you'll find clothing - men's is on the upper level and women's on the lower. They've also got a killer jewellery section (which is where I've found myself most often drooling over the rings and earrings). I never look closely at the clothing because I don't want to tempt myself (out of my price range), but just glancing at the racks I and tell there are a lot of cute things that I hear are really great quality. From the little bit of browsing I've done the sizes are all pretty small...whomp whomp. In the men's section you'll find wallets, shave kits and some really fun socks in addition to the standard clothing fare. Don't miss out on the back section behind the men's clothing where the sale stuff is! They've always got a good selection of sale things. I really love the idea of shopping at Biscuit General, but unless it's some of the smaller items I just don't have the budget for it. It can get very pricey very quickly. That being said if you have more room in your budget definitely give Biscuit General a shot - it's definitely a local gem!

I'd much rather a mall where I can park and walk around. I know, I know, half of these stores wouldn't fit into your typical mall but I have to think the carbon footprint would be lower. Not that I'm going to start an environmental rant but form a pure user perspective, it's frustrating. It's park, go into store, walk out, drive to next store, park, and repeat. With all those reservations, Dartmouth Crossing does do better than some other shopping areas. For one thing, there are some sidewalks! And not one, but two, bus routes that service the area! They have also tried to create a "shopping district" within the larger area that focuses on clothing (mostly women's) in a "Main street" approach which is a nice change of pace. Areas for improvement: some of the intersections that are four-way stops should probably be converted to lights. Some of the "newer" sections don't have crosswalks - get on that.

Clothing, shoes, sporting goods, tools and hardware, Walmart (mecca of everything), food, house wares, and entertainment. You need something, you can find it in Dartmouth Crossing. After the Bayer's lake fiasco of driving, somewhere some engineer became smart! Getting into, around and out of Dartmouth Crossing is a breeze, turning lanes everywhere, little strips malls everywhere, box stores, and chains have there own little (large, humongous, gigantic) area. Not to mention the ten different ways in and out of the park. Driving through here is bliss, unlike Bayer's Lake where I'm pretty sure the Devil resides! Dartmouth Crossing you get an A+++++ in my books!

The mall is mainly centered around Pete's Frootique as a prime destination, and prime destination it is.. It's somewhat comparable to "Whole Foods" in the US albeit on a smaller scale, but it makes up for its small size with a huge variety of food items that you are unlikely to find anywhere else in the city. The mall also has a variety of the standard cell phone carrier stands, a (too?) small Indigospirit bookstore, Mark's work wearhouse, Hallmark etc. The food court is small but the quality and health consciousness of the non-chain food vendors here makes it a very attractive to stop by for a meal... especially if you enjoy fresh ingredients and want a break from the monotony and excessive food processing offered by the standard fast food chains.

Several home decor and foodie focused shops like Cucina Moderna, Backyard & Veranda (that has lots of stuff for indoors as well). I noted some local card makers up on the second floor - if it can be counted as a second floor? - and Rousseau's has chocolates there, for instance. And in the not local category, they have Rifle Paper Co. here. I'm completely in love with the Rifle Paper Co. art style, so that made me incredibly happy!

Eclectic musings come together to form Lost & Found's fashionably homemade North End boutique . The shop's mood is quiet and thoughtful, just as its clothes. Music is easy, and the store keeper sews away in a corner wooden chair. Piecing through the assorted racks, I become awe struck by the profuse selection of gorgeous things. Most times I am able to edit down final selections before the efforts of the fitting room; however, this was not the case. The clothing variety is of impeccable taste, as every item on display is hand picked, and/or altered with special detailing. And with such reasonable pricing-- it all seems too good to be true. (A large rack dedicated to post-season sales provides some gorgeous steals!) Clothing is displayed on thick wooden hangers, and well managed framework; the result is chic and polished confines. Divorce Records is an added bonus to the Lost & Found experience. Peek through this Halifax based label's selection for some stellar anti-industry music variety. Vinyl and CDs are for sale, and allow an opportunity to acquire new tastes, without commercial fluff. Also noteworthy: bin filled with $2 Vinyl picks. (Not Divorce Records) Besides glass encased jewelry and vintage frames, L&F is also decorated with DIY-styled trinkets and art. The space is fused with creative energy and wholesome goodness. I heart. My recent visit ended with the purchasing of a brilliant long sleeved crop top. With its subtle alterations-- front & back scoop neck with buttons, and adorable mini-shoulder pads + ruching-- its a dream piece. And only $18! The detailing of selections make for cool fits and one of a kind pieces. Lost & Found offers a creative and inspiring shopping experience, indeed.
