I have been a customer at this bank for 27 years. Within the last 2 years I've noticed a couple of the tellers/bookkeepers becoming overly interested in my account for whatever reason. I do not personally know anyone who works there. It seems like someone different is always working at the window but through phone calls to the bank I've spoken to only 3 different girls and know them by name only. I wouldn't know them if I saw them.
Last week I had called to speak ti bookkeeping and a couple hours later got a call from the bank with a female stating that the secretary had told her that someone had called from my number wanting to speak with her. I told her I had called but I spoke to bookkeeping. Later the same day (3:21pm) I received a call from a number I did not know. It was a male stating that he'd had a missed call from my number. He gave me his name I still did not know him. I later decided to look him up on Facebook because it was an odd call. Come to find out that he was and had been dating the female from the bank that called me earlier that day. For some reason she had taken my number from work gave it to her boyfriend so he could call and find out who I was. That seems like a violation of privacy to me. A few weeks before this I was at a friend's house and her twenty something yr old daughter made the comment that so and so "from the bank just called and said (her grandmothers name)has the sweetest voice". She proceeds to tell the granddaughter that she just got off the phone with her because she had to call her about her bank account. That was another huge red flag to me. I wouldn't want just anyone even knowing where I have an account at. HUGE PRIVACY ISSUE!! If they are so easily throwing out these small and seemingly insignificant pieces of information to whomever then there is no telling what's really being said about private account matters to people they know. So I am in the process of closing my account at this small bank and have opened a new one elsewhere. I couldn't image what they'd share if I had an account that had more a few thousand go through it every month.
Oh and let me add that there's not a way to speak to anyone higher than these couple of girls there even though they apparently employee 25 people because they filter the calls. Anna State Bank does not publish email addresses either. You have to email the bank @info.....I wonder how many others are being violated due to a couple loose mouthed girls? read more
