I had a Russian manicure here and every bit of my experience from booking to the finish of my treatment was fabulous. I made my appointment via instagram message and confirmed via text, and it was seamless. I received a reminder text as well. The studio is clean and pretty (and currently decorated for Christmas). My manicure was so incredibly relaxing. My nails were a mess when I arrived and they are now absolutely beautiful. I made my next appointment immediately. I've been going to Anna and her studio for over 5 years now. Myself and my family have done microblading, permanent makeup, scalp micropigmentation, etc. All came out great. This was my first time here, I arrived early and had to wait outside since the doors were locked until I called to state I had arrived for my appointment. It wasn't until 15 minutes later someone came to the door and let me in, it was already ten minutes into my appointment time. At which time I was told to wait a little longer. Ten minutes later she states she is ready and apologized for the wait I stated not a big deal since she apologized. I had booked a regular polish mani and pedi, when it came to picking out a color they only had four colors and not good ones. I was told well regular polish isn't popular. If I would have known I would have brought my own color. I asked if I could get gel then since the colors were not nice at all. She said she didn't have the time to do gel since she was running behind. I stated how was that my fault when your previous client came late and I was on time excuse me even early to my appointment! She said she couldn't do it. I said okay I guess I will pick this beige color polish. And she proceeded with the manicure. Then onto the pedicure she then stated she could do the gel on my toes I was like are you sure you have the time? I don't want to take up someone else's appointment time, she stated yes, I believe if I had been not agreeable this never would have happened. Other places would accommodate a request like this especially when inconveniencing a client and a new one at that. I am not Russian and it appeared the previous client was I don't know if that played into the initial reaction or not but that's what it appeared like. I don't like to think this way but this is how it appeared. They were friendly enough and initially I thought they did a great dry pedicure but later my feet were all peeling and not soft and smooth as usual. I take very good care of my feet and they are never dry or cracked so I was very unhappy with this. I think she did an extra too long sanding of my feet for the inconvenience of doing the gel but again first impressions are everything. I am not sure if I will return maybe it was just an off day or maybe they don't like outsiders who knows. It was pricey but I did like the intimate setting not like the usual nail salon where you feel rushed and not relaxed at all. Although on this occasion I was not relaxed. read more

I am late in writing this review but feel compelled to share my amazing experience with Nikki. Approx. 4 months ago I went to see Nikki for permanent eyeliner. I have never done anything like this but have been thinking about it as I get older and eyeliner becomes more difficult to apply. I researched extensively to find a professional. My whole experience with Anna Kara's PMU has been a pleasant one. My artist, Daria, is a fine, meticulous, young artist who made sure I was happy with the result of my Ombre brow. She took her time drawing up my subtle dream brow and once finished, took time in filling them in with PMU. She used her experience with color and brow art to make sure the proper tint matched my skin tone, and the result is a natural looking ombre brow that will for sure last for long months, if not years. The Manager, Mila, made sure our schedules lined up and was very accomodating and understanding when i had to cancel my touch appointment at 6 weeks due to an emergency. I came in to get nano blading done, and I have gotten 3 touch ups now since the initial appointment which was less than 6 months ago. It looks terrible and it looks worse every time I come in. I am so frustrated and now the discoloration from the nano blading next to my eyelashes is permanent and looks like crap, I'm very embarrassed, and feel scammed as well. Waste of money. read more

it was my second time here. my first visit was amazing, my second was a horrible experience. my nail tech kept skipping on my nails with the power tools, one of my nails (my real nail) she took half way off and it was the worst pain. She tried putting this stuff on it to stop the bleeding but the pain was so bad I started crying on the chair. I almost wanted to leave but this was the only time I could get my nails done. by the time she finishes we check out and charges me full price. She said I was charged for the nails she had to replace which the others I understand but the one she took half my nail off, she still charged me. I will not be back. read more

I've tried micro blading twice somewhere else and it was sooo painful...I also bled so much and was left with scars and discoloring... I had to cover up every day with makeup. This experience on the other hand was not painful and she covered up my scars and odd color with realistic hair strokes! I had to wait 6 months to get into her but it was totally worth it! I went specifically for scar coverage and absolutely nothing happened. I cannot attest to the permanent makeup but I can say that the scar coverage does not cover at all, so I do not recommend this place for surgical scar coverage. After going twice to try to get the scars covered and nothing happening, I went to a place in La Jolla. They definitely did a better job in covering my scars, so I know it can be done. read more

My mama always told me I was special, but I really don't think that I'm so special that I'm the one person that this stuff doesn't work on. Called and spoke with Anna. I mentioned to her that although there are many photos on the website, none are of people of color and wanted to know if they've ever performed the service on a person of color. She assured me they had. I was given an appointment with Nikki. We met and she said she had not performed this service on a person of color, but would speak with her mentor and get back to me. My guess is that the mentor had no advice because she never called back. One star is not because they couldn't do a person of color (actually, I was glad that she admitted to her lack of expertise in this area...we're talking about a needle very near my eyes after all) but with the poor customer service and follow up. read more

Anna did my brows last July. While I thought it was weird she was plucking out a lot of my eyebrows before she started (seemed to defeat the purpose of making them fuller) I left and thought they looked fine. After the healing process they faded in some spots or she missed areas and I went back and paid the touch up fee. I followed all instructions to the letter. After 8 months have passed, some have faded and some areas she went so deep that the pigment is very dark. I have looked to have them fixed and no one will touch them without having them removed. She did not follow my natural hairline (evidenced by the plucked brows now growing back in) and made a tattoo on my face vice helping what was there. I was hesitant to post this, but as reality has set in that what she did was not one would expect of a PMU instructor, I felt I'd just leave a fair warning for others. read more

Today is 2023 and it is still there: no fading, no dripping, no color change. Just perfect! That is why, without any doubt or looking for a different studio, I decided to come back to Anna to do my eyebrows. There was no question in my mind and I chose Anna's studio! I couldn't decide for myself what exactly did I want, what shape, how dark it should be, and so on ... Anna with a lot of patients explained to me what to expect. Maybe my hopes were too high. After searching for two years for someplace that could color correct my brows I was so excited to find Anna Kara's. What I did not expect was: $600 later to still have to cover up old color with foundation on my left brow; to have the added insult of having to come back in a month & pay $150 more for color correction because my brows are clearly too light despite coming in with the color I always wear and showing the artist the exact color plus my left brow does not match my right brow in regards to where it starts. Daria did an excellent job! I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and so is Daria. She consulted with me about which style would be best for my preferred look, and we landed on ombré, which happened to be the cheaper option. I couldn't be happier with the results. Update. It's been approximately 9 days since I had my 3D lips procedure and I am very pleased with the result. The healing process is absolutely tolerable especially if you follow her after care instruction and generously apply the after care balm for a couple days.
