Our instructor ran through the lesson twice on the wheel so we could master it before being given free time to make whatever we want. He also gave lots of hands on corrections which was super appreciated -- pottery is so hard LOL. We got to create 3 pieces to be fired, glazed, and available for pick up a couple weeks later. All for $60 per person, this was definitely a great value and I'd come back again!

We took a 1 night class, and I forgot our instructors name but they used to be a clay instructor at a school and you could totally tell. All employees there were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and chill. I have recommended date night at Dock 6 to everyone I know - even as a self date. Wine night is $60 per person and you have to be 21+ yrs to attend. You bring your own wine, so if you are an adult looking for a child-free space and don't drink, this is still a good option and you can just bring something else to drink. Class started with an intro to throwing and the wheel in general. It was much harder than I thought it would be and I work in a creative job and have taken clay classes in the past -- but my husband thought it was a breeze (my husband, the software engineer who proclaims he doesn't have a creative bone in his body). The instructor helped whenever I needed and showed us different techniques to create different vessels. In the end, we could each save 3 vessels we made and choose which glaze for them to be fired with. This is an amazing deal - you get to do one very small part of the clay throwing process, give some creative direction, and then come back to pick up your finished pieces a few weeks later. So, in my opinion, these classes are a great value. One note - it was hard to drink and work with the clay at the same time because my hands were all sloppy from the clay. I still grabbed my lil cup for wine sips throughout the class anyway. Idk why you're still reading this and haven't booked a class yet - go on!

However, I came to Oya Arts with my Education Evolving team and I truly enjoyed making art thanks to Karen and the way she supported us and encouraged our creativity. It was probably my favorite team building event ever in along history of team building events. We created our art surrounded by her beautiful and inspiring works and in the presence of her incredible kindness. You will not find a better way to build team connection.

Taylor was our instructor, she's very patient and kind on repeating herself many times for us until we fully understand the process. They even helped me print out my own design. Oh they also offers yummy drinks. It was a very nice experience for us to be there, we enjoyed a nice 2-2.5 hours girls time together, chatting while working in our project. Highly recommended.

There were so many choices of beads to choose from for the bracelets, and it was so fun smelling all the aromatic scents for the candles and sharing our favorite scents with friends before deciding on a candle. I absolutely loved it ! The best part was that it wasn't too loud and it was easy to carry on a conversation. Everyone in the group was friendly and supportive of each other's bead and candle artwork. I just loved the environment and space. It was expensive - around $70 with tax - but it was totally worth it for the experience. And like I said, the selection of beads and aromatics were so unique, it was worth the cost for that experience alone! Besides classes, the place also sells art and creative pieces like jewelry and other trinkets. Thank you for making my birthday memorable!
