I had always gotten my hair done in Manhattan and was wary of getting it done in the suburbs (was having nightmares of a chunky highlighted blond bob) but decided to give this place a try. I'm so so so glad I did! The space is immaculate and they have the proper procedures in place to safely get your hair done. There are 2 stylists and everyone had on a mask / I watched the spaces get cleaned in between clients. It's got great lighting and design and right next to the train station. On top of that I came out with amazing hair, perfect blonde beachy waves and had an overall great service/expwro. She is extremely knowledgeable in all things hair and is super confident when she is speaking with you. She even started her own line of products. I really liked that she took the time to explain what she was going to do and my options. I needed some color correction and wanted something more bright. She got right to work! Painting and highlighting my hair! It was kind of an art watching her. I also really appreciated how super nice and down to earth she is. I mean who wants to walk into a salon and deal with snobs! The woman who wrote the review and I had vastly different experiences on that day. My experience was as it has been for 15 years - professional, experienced and collaborative. The woman and her mother were clearly not regular clients at a high end salon which is not a judgment as much as an observation. As the client said, "everything was fine and everyone got along" until they went to pay the bill which was clearly more than they expected. Annmarie is extremely professional and was somehow managing to remain patient with this woman's unrelenting demands and criticisms. Annmarie is unconcerned with who is right or wrong, only that her clients expectations are met. I watched Meghan - the receptionist - address the woman's concerns with kindness, empathy and professionalism and consistent with salon policy. Anthony is the reason the salon is the long-time success that it is in a community known for chasing "the next best thing" and treats his staff and clients with the utmost respect. The salon and people this interloper describes is not my Salon Dematteo. I suggest she find a salon that she is more comfortable with. As a transplanted NY'er I searched a very long time to find talent comparable to my salon in NYC. Fifteen years later I have, and would, follow Annemarie and Salon DeMatteo anywhere.

They were a few minutes late but finished doing all five bridesmaids with plenty of time, the down hair styles they did for us were gorgeous and stayed in place all day / night. They were friendly, professional, super efficient, one of them even helped us clean up after our brunch. I've been in six or seven previous weddings and I liked my hair in this wedding the best of any of them. Really nice flowy curls. Ana did my blow out and she was fantastic, gentle, and professional. The owner was also very accommodating when I told him about my concerns. I have very curly (half black) hair - I get a weekly blow out because I like my flowing locks. Traveling for work, I stopped here for a blow out before a work event. Very reliable and talented. Great conversation and wonderful/quick/convenient blow out. Also no iron used - the less heat the better! I will visit again when I am in the area. Recommended
