Conway Kennel - Emaciated, body language like an abused dog

Conway Kennel

Would give zero stars and a red flag warning if I could. I dropped off a healthy, happy dog. My…read moredog was there for five weeks as part of what was supposed to be obedience and gun dog training. I showed up yesterday for the first owner-involved training and obviously took him home. He did not respond to any of the commands from the trainer, despite over a month of "training." My dog is severely underweight, has sores all over his legs and stomach, thick ocular discharge, fecal blood, kennel cough or an injury from improper use of a choke collar (they did not notify me beforehand they would be utilizing a shock collar and choke chain), and he cannot sit or use the bathroom. He smells terrible. His body language is that of an abused animal. He is cowering and flinches when I reach out to pet him, his head is hung low.

It took numerous calls, leaving messages on machine and speaking to an older man a couple of times…read moreto even get a trainer to call back. Initial meeting was great and we decided to take our Irish Setter there for obedience training and talked about bird dog training when that was completed. Unfortunately, the trainer (Kane) got hurt and we were asked to pick up our dog. I still don't understand why another trainer couldn't step in a take him because coming back home basically erased all that Riley had learned. He went back for board and train a couple months later. I had to contact trainer and ask when he could come back, I was not contacted. In March I showed up for our training session and as soon as I got out of the car I was told Riley should go home to see how he behaved in a home environment. I was completely caught off guard and felt obligated to agree. I was told to update trainer in a week or two, which I did, and no reply. I texted and asked when Riley could come back to do more obedience and start bird dog training. We were supposed to be doing non boarding training sessions with my 2 other dogs as well. I texted this trainer 4 weeks in a row and spoke to a lady at the main kennel line. He never responded. When I thought back to trainer basically pushing Riley out the door, trainer was obviously having a bad day. He wasn't as friendly and was calling my dog " a little shit" and as soon as he collected the money it was obvious he was done. He helped get Riley in the truck and walked away. His attitude was such a 180 from how he was in our training sessions. Ry came home with an eye infection, ear infection, and caked up gunk (It appeared to be discharge that happens after a wound stops bleeding) at the site where e-collar was either too tight or left on too long. If Riley was too much to handle or he had a problem with Ry or us, he should have said so. Either he just didn't want to train him any longer or he needed the space for someone else. He was very unprofessional and a poor representation of the kennel. Ry can heel (sort of), sit, here, kennel but wasn't taught stay, down or anything further than those basic commands. I basically paid for a babysitter. So disappointed. Trainer really talked a good game but fell incredibly short.

Kori's K9's Dog Training

Kori is fantastic, my family has known her over a year she has even trained my moms disability dog…read morefrom day one. Our dogs have done group classes, privates and even live-in training with Kori. She is very educated in dog behavior, she is gentle and takes each personality into consideration. We have a year old German Shepard mix named Lobo that we got from Mexico at four months old. He has always had extreme anxiety issues and we have never understood why he becomes so anxious. We even did several years of training with both of our dogs at a different facility and lost a ton of money with minimal results. Then we met Kori!! The most incredible results with Kori came from a series of three days Lobo stayed with Kori and her fur babies. Her pack totally accepted Lobo and she was so devoted to finding some solutions and reasoning towards Lobos actions. Lobo has horrible anxiety, does a ton of mouthing and is very protective of his pack. We learned from Kori that lobo acts this way due to the wild dog he is likely descendant of. Kori taught us a whole heap of tips and tricks to help us help Lobo. We also were having huge problems with my sisters dog attacking our smaller dog Dory. This attacking went on for weeks and we couldn't figure out why every time my sisters dog came in the house she went straight at Dory. Kori did a home visit, walked in and in 15 minutes of watching the five dogs interact she told us exactly what was starting the reaction, why and how scary it was due to how and where my dog was being attacked. Needless to say the news wasn't good but if it wasn't for Kori's extensive knowledge of dog behavior we never would have figured out why and may have lost my pup. Kori is a vital and loved member of our pack and I will never stop being great-full and amazed by her knowledge of animals.

I can't say enough good things about K9 Timeless Training and Boarding! I took my 3-year-old…read morelabradoodle, Simba, to their 2-week board and train program with Jamal, and the difference is honestly night and day. Before training, Simba had zero structure -- he pulled hard on the leash, barked at everyone and everything, and even bit my 2-year-old daughter. He was always a house dog, and I'll admit I let him get away with a lot. But after that bite incident, I knew something had to change. From the very beginning, Jamal really took the time to understand our household and what we needed, especially with a toddler in the mix. When Simba came home, I could not believe it was the same dog. He's now calm, obedient, and responsive. He no longer pulls on the leash or nips at anyone. He listens to commands, doesn't bark excessively, and has such a better sense of control and focus. What really stood out to me is that Jamal didn't just train my dog -- he also trained me. He gave me the confidence I needed as a dog owner to trust my dog and to trust myself. I now feel like Simba and I truly understand and respect each other. Our bond is stronger than ever, and I finally feel like I'm leading him in the right way. We can now take him to off-leash parks, and he plays nicely with other dogs but comes right back when called. At home, he's relaxed, respectful, and fits beautifully into our family again. I'm beyond grateful to Jamal and his team for giving Simba the structure and foundation he needed -- and for giving us peace of mind as a family. Highly, highly recommend K9 Timeless Training and Boarding!
