Thanks for the great care!
Christine M.

My fur baby was panting in pain and couldn't walk and we were unable to figure out why. Naturally, it was a Saturday night and his regular vet was closed. Took him into Animal Emergency Clinic in O'Fallon and they were quick to help me get my 70lb boy on a stretcher and off to be examined by the vet. They were busy and had several very acute cases. They professionally juggled sick and injured pets while comforting emotional parents. I was there several hours, but that is to be expected. The wait was actually very comfortable, there were vending machines for drinks and food as well as clean restroom facilities. The vet kept me regularly updated. My boy needed blood work and imaging, all available there. He was sent home with the medication he needed and a solid plan of care until he could be seen by his regular vet. The services were reasonably priced considering it's emergency care. I feel like they were fiscally cautious when choosing the diagnostics for my pet. If you feel you could wait until business hours you'll obviously spend less at your regular vet, but unfortunately accidents and unexpected illnesses happen and I'm grateful we have great emergency care close to home. The vet we saw was outstanding in his recommendations and I have confidence in the care received. Turns out my old man has a bad back, thankfully he's doing well. We will definitely use this Emergency Clinic again if needed.

It was a sad experience because I had to put my cat down, but they were all so nice and caring to me.

No stars actually. They sent me away because the only vet present was leaving even though my dog was bleeding.

This has to be the worse vet/emergency place around so if it can be helped do not take your fur babies to this.

My muted calico, Abby, named after Dr. Abigail Whiting, who quite literally saved her life more than seven years ago after she ate something that resulted in a dangerous obstruction, is here again today. I'm in during pre-dawn hours for recurring constipation that we just can't seem to completely get reined in. Dr. Symphony Nguy is taking care of my fuzzy little baby right now. She is incredibly passionate and patient, with a totally soothing voice and mannerisms. She's convinced Abby's issues are able to be resolved with a comprehensive, multi-pronged treatment plan! She offered several recommendations, spoke with me briefly about nutrition and offered immediate relief and hope for many more healthy, happy years with my feline companion. As well, this past weekend, we needed to bring in mom's 19-year-old "Good Kitty" to be euthanized. She told us she was ready to go to Kitty Heaven and in the moment, our regular vet was unavailable. It was all a bit of a blur, but suffice it to say, the staff was understanding and kind throughout. I highly recommend VSS and their team, especially Salem.

He was great to talk to and gave me the information I needed before we came. We were shown into a room right away. It did take awhile to see the doctor, but they checked in on us while we were waiting. It took less time than I imagined it would. We saw Dr. Whiting who explained what was happening to our dog. He had vestibular disease (vertigo). She didn't rush us and answered all of our questions. He was treated and sent home with meds. The entire office and rooms were very clean and taken care of. Everyone we came in contact with was very kind. Thank you for helping our little guy.

I am giving them high marks due to I have been working with them for almost 33 years. The current doctor I work with is Dr. Misty Schneider. She is very easy to work with, very knowledgeable and compassionate. I can see she has a true love for animals. I had to work with another doctor when I had my previous dog put to sleep, she was really compassionate and helpful as well. I would recommend them, I can see that they truly want to take care of their furry client base.

It was about three minutes after nine when they called me and wanted to know why I was late for my appointment. I explained the email that I had received and was told by a rather young girl that "we don't have anything to do with that." If I receive an email from VCA, I certainly think that they have something to do with it. They told me at that point that they could not groom my two dogs that day. I told them I was only 9:05 o'clock at that point. They insisted that they would not groom my dogs that day and that I would have to reschedule. I even spoke to the manager who again sounded like a young girl and she repeated what I had been told before and that's tthey could not groom my dogs that day. It's one thing if you are very late and you don't call, it's another when you've received an email instructing you that your appointment time has been changed. They stood their ground and would not budge and I found the entire situation to be ridiculous. This was the fifth dog of mine that they had cared for in the past, like I said I had been going to them for over 20 years. It seemed to me that it did not matter who the manager of the grooming was going to be and I can tell you from being a manager for 35 years that this girl had no experience in handling customer disputes. We quit going and found another Vet. No one called me and asked me why we left, and that speaks volumes as to how the practice is being managed.

Any exam they do on your pet they'll say something's wrong to get you to buy stuff. I went in for X-rays so I signed up for their premium membership. I never got a copy of them. They couldn't do anything else other than the X-rays. They charged me for overpriced medicine. They charged me to start the membership, the monthly fee, plus the medicine. Total of almost 300. Supposedly the total tab for doing X-rays and a few shots he needed was a total of almost $1300. All I went in was for X-rays. It's been a year later I ended up paying the1300 monthly with a final fee of 145$ to finish paying it off. I didn't go to any more visits just so they could t add to my tab of their PREMIUM plan. Don't fall for it, Total scam. They just care about money.

I made an appointment to get a prescription for flea, tick and heart worm prevention. When I arrived to my appointment I gave the vet tech my previous vet's information, and we also get our dogs groomed at PetSmart. After the vet tech spoke with my previous vet, was emailed my dogs records, and spoke with grooming to check on their vaccination updates. The vet tech came back and said Dog A needs a rabies shot and doesn't need a worm test. Dog B needs a worm test and does not need a rabies shot. We did everything the vet recommended and paid $371. She told me to put in my prescription online. The website will contact Banfield and they will approve it. I put in my prescription Dog B was approved but Dog A was denied because he did not have a worm test and needed to be seen by a vet. When I called Banfield I was told Dog A needed to come back in and get a test. I took the dog and paid more money. 2 weeks later I go online to make a grooming appointment and I see that Dog B needs a rabies shot verification. The vet tech gave the wrong dog the rabies shot. Dog A did not need one until 2027 and Dog B was the one that was up for a rabies renewal. So now I need to go back for a 3rd time or find a new vet. I thought going to Banfield would be convenient because grooming and the vet is in the same place. I was wrong.
