Kings County Animal Control are the most disrespectful, rude, people I have come across in a very long time. The gal sitting in the front desk ticked me off beyond belief. My dogs were accidentally let out when my son went to school this morning and somebody in the neighborhood called on them. They were out if not 20 minutes before we noticed and went searching for them. I had to call 4 different numbers from the animal control automated voice machine before finally speaking with the sheriff's department and they gave animal control my number. I immediately went to their building and they automatically started pressuring us to get my beautiful dog neutered. We do not want this. We understand the reasoning for them wanting this done and so less homeless dogs are on the streets but this is our pup and it's our decision whether or not we neuter him or not. The gals working here literally decided to help another person in line and said out loud "she's more of a priority because she's choosing to have her animal spayed. " How is this professional and kind in any way? This sounds like we are over reacting, but the disrespect we received from these individuals was not okay what so ever. If they are disrespecting people this much, I cannot imagine how they treat our scared animals. When we asked to possibly adopt another animal and browse the ones available there, we were instantly declined to do so because they don't "allow" animals to be taken into homes where other pets are not neutered. . Even all MALE dogs can't be together. Obviously our dogs are beautiful and perfectly healthy and we love animals so there was nothing wrong with us taking on another one in our home. It was obvious the only reason why these people were so rude was because all they wanted from us was our money. We either had to pay extra to wait for our pets to be neutered or pay to have them neutered today and we could not leave with our own pets before making a decision and paying cash there on the spot. They didn't even make us get their vaccines updated, we just had to pay for it in advance. If they really cared about the vaccines they would have given it already and have us pay later. What a horrible experience. This place is supposed to be open to protect our animals only, yet when I go in there incredibly thankful that they were safe and found, i was hounded to immediately give them money. Nobody did this on purpose and we were treated like dirt for it. Thanks for all of your help Kings County Animal Control. read more
