I just used The Itchy Pooch for the first time for my 14 month old Golden Retriever that never had a professional groom before. Alicia is the groomer that came out and she did a wonderful job! Our golden girl is energetic mixed with a little anxiety, so we didn't want to take her somewhere that she would be in a cage for a few hours before being tended to. I felt at ease, knowing she was right outside of my house, and Alicia even answered my text when I asked her how she was doing. My girl came out looking so refreshed and smelled so good! First time for nail clip. I had Shyanne. She rang the doorbell and my dog went nuts. Her boss had forgotten to tell her I had requested not coming the door to prevent this. So my dog is in major protective mode and growling at my husband who is trying to calm him down. I went outside to let her know and she was super patient and waited a few minutes. My husband brought out our little monster and she took him in the van. She said she would let him sniff around and get acclimated. About five minutes later they emerged and I handed her some treats to give him. She said he was fine and she even grinded his nails smooth! I love when people find dog whisperers to do these jobs. She did a way better job than who I usually go to. They don't cut far enough but they were cheap so I didn't mind. But it's nice to see the nails so well clipped and maybe I will need to push back the appointment I made for a month from now. She said it would be no problem if so. She was so nice and I'm so grateful she made our dog so comfortable Totally worth triple the price I usually pay. And I save on gas and time. And she's awesome! Hallelujah read more

I love the girl who services my dog and my dog loves her! My dog loves new people but is terrified of vehicles because she gets car sick when they start moving. The groomer was incredibly patient with her and was so sweet with my hairy baby. They really take great care of your dog. The only reason I give four stars is because I feel like the appointment booking through text could be friendlier. When I went to book my dogs appointment I wasn't even asked what time would work for me. They just put me down for 11. And didn't say anything outside of "This Day 11am". And it was uncomfortable to have to tell them again for the second time I can't do this time because I have a full time job away from home and my dog is afraid to leave the house without my permission. Then when I said I can't do that but I can do after this specific time. They just texted me the new time. No other words. I understand businesses get busy, I used to run a dog and cat business as well, while working two other jobs. But it really doesn't feel good to book a service that way if it's not with a website to book the time myself. If the booking service would be just a bit more customer friendly I think it would deserve more than 5 stars honestly! read more

Couldn't be happier with our experience with The Itchy Pooch! We have a 2 year old Great Pyrenees who had never been fully groomed before- mainly because I have been so nervous about taking him to a groomer. He's around 120 lbs, very stubborn, and has lots of weird quirks and things that scare him. I knew getting him into a grooming salon would be a challenge. After seeing comments online about The Itchy Pooch and how great they are, particularly with large and/or challenging dogs, I decided to give them a try and I'm so glad I did! They were kind and friendly people and they did an outstanding job with our dog. The fact that they come right to your house took away so much of my stress and made things so easy. A few minutes into his appointment they sent me an update text to let me know he was doing well, which really meant a lot to me because I was so nervous about how it would go. At one point I looked out the window and could see into the van, one person was blow drying my dog and the other was on his knees petting my dogs face and being so sweet with him. I know my dog didn't make things easy on them, but they took such great care of him and he came out looking so handsome! It was worth every penny! Just got both of my dogs groomed got my German Shepard bathed and deshedded and he looks amazing so much less hair and can really see his shinny coat. My other dog a smaller Pekingese is usually very shy and not the biggest fan of groomers but Erika with itchy pooch did great with him and he looks great with his hair cut definitely will use her again in the future for both of my dogs again read more

I started using the itchy pooch after my other groomer went a bit wacky. (Long story) off a recommendation of a friend. I could not be happier. Carly is the sweetest person and always takes great care of my Shih-tzu/Poodle mix. She's never had a nick on her and she always comes back smelling great. We've been using the Itchy Pooch for about a year now and they always call with reminders that your appointment is the next day and when the groomer gets there she goes over exactly what we want done. I just called itchy pooch for the first time & l am very pleased!! They were able to come groom my dog Toby on the same day!! They arrived on time & took about 45 min. The price was about same as most groomers but it's more convenient and my dog doesn't need to sit in a cage for several hours! He looked so cute and he seemed to enjoy himself! I am so impressed with a service I received for my lil chihuahua. I was in a tight time crunch because I had several appts set up. I called and received a response right away and she was able to come the next morning. She did a great job on cutting and filing his nails as well as grooming. She also gave me advice on how to care for him since he has skin issues. If I wasn't leaving the area I would use again and again. read more

She did great on the baths with both dogs. However, the grooming on my little terrier was awful. One side of the neck is 1 1/2" longer than the other side. Her right eyebrow was cut off. The space between her eyes was shaved, leaving one strip of fur right in the middle. That side of her face was short and badly cut, leaving it choppy looking. The other side was not cut at all. Although our 2 black labs are friendly , one does not like to be caged, so we have always washed our dogs ourselves. I read the good, but limited reviews for the Itchy Pooch and thought we'd take a chance. I have no regrets. The dogs seemed to enjoy it and looked great. They bathed our dogs for less than was the large chain store down the street charges and included more services. Best of all they came right to our home. The dogs smelled amazing and didn't seem stressed. Unfortunately they book up like a month in advance and with our busy schedule it is hard to commit to anything that far out so we don't use them as much as we would like. read more

I absolutely love Itchy Pooch. Carla used to work at the place I went to before, and was so excited she is now mobile and in Camarillo where I live. She is amazing, is patient and kind, and does a beautiful job. I have a small Maltese, and when she gets mats, Carly does her best to cut as little hair as possible. She has never had to shave her for mats, and is great at getting them out. I's more expensive than where I went before due to the mobile fee, but I LOVE the fact that my little dog isn't sitting in a cage all day. Much less trauma for her, and less chance for injury. Plus, the mobile van is so well-equipped and modern, it's just lovely. I used one mobile groomer once before and the van was dirty. Not just hair, it was dirt. I was so not impressed! But the Itchy Pooch van is very clean and nice. Another nice thing is you get a discount if you book the day of the grooming for next time, and if you have friends or neighbors with dogs, the mobile fee can be split among you because there's only one charge per location. My neighbor and I have split the cost before, so that worked out well. I'm trying to get my friend with three Maltese over the next time. read more

I have never written reviews for anything on the internet before, but I had to for the Itchy pooch. i knew mobile grooming was better then taking my two Labs into the shops. it saves time, gas, etc so it really isnt that much more expensive if you think about it. And shamra's team is the best, at least from what I can tell since I started using them a couple months ago. My two babies are now on a monthly program and they always come out of that grooming van happy and looking shiny and smelling so nice. they get so excited when they see her come to the door now which makes me happy because I know she must be treating them good. it is nice to have the same trustworthy person come to me to clean my dogs. five stars for the itchy pooch, i'll never need anyone ever again. read more

Go with someone more reliable. I've had an appointment for 6 weeks and just got a call from them stating one of their groomers quit and therefore they cannot groom my dog anymore. No alternatives given, nothing...just that they won't help me and will not work with me. Not a professional way to run a business. I have used them one time prior and had a good experience. Now nothing. There are other options available with other businesses. Just don't expect professionalism or reliability from these people or you will be sadly disappointed. read more

I never write reviews, but I feel I need to warn anyone who loves their pet to beware of itchy pooch. My dog is 5 years old and has never had any health problem until itch pooch groomed him 3 times. He got an ear infection which took him 5 weeks to get rid, plus two vet visits. The last time they groomed him he could not breath very well. He had water in his nose from the groomer, it took him 3 weeks to recover. I am still upset over the experience. Just a warning.... I had to give one star to post this. One star is not my choice.
