We came on a Saturday at noon, and it was absolutely packed. Luckily, there were a couple of tables open in the upstairs area. The servers are fluent in English and are quite friendly.
We ordered the oyster shucker's platter, burgundy snails, and squid a la plancha tapas with scallops added. The oyster shucker's platter is a great way to try all the different kinds of seafood, consisting of oysters, prawns, whelks, and shrimp. The oysters were super fresh and plump - tasted like sea water but in the best way possible, melting in your mouth. The prawns were plump and fresh, and the shrimps were crunchy and umami. The whelks were somewhat hard to get out of their shells, but they were very chewy and satisfying.
The escargot came out hot and warm, with the parsley sauce soaking into the tender snail meat. The squid was chewy yet tender, and the scallops were super soft and tender. The slight char on each piece gave a smoky, woody flavor that was wonderful.
Can definitely see why people order platters and platters of this fresh seafood!
