Very convenient location. Good a quick bit with reasonable prices. Service was prompt and friendly.

This is a great restaurant downtown Trois Rivieres - it's got a fun and funky decor with huge sofa's down the centre of the restaurant that seat six and then two chairs on the end to make 8. There most be 100 pasta's on the menu to choose from...don't know how the chef's manage. This place probably seats 200 and it was jammed. The service was quick given how busy it was, the mains came out right away and everyone enjoyed their meals - the calzones are legendary and the size of a football.....if you finish, i'd be super impressed.

The first thing that stands out about Angeline's is the decor of the restaurant and the beautiful waitress'. They have these sofa seating areas in the middle of the floor for large groups but since the place wasn't busy we thought we'd try it for something different but the waitress wouldn't allow us. Instead we had to sit at a table. -1 for service. I ordered the international burger with poutine. The burger was ok. The patties were doubled up and tasted like they were cooked from frozen state, not fresh but it wasn't bad. The poutine was a perfect portion and tasted good. Desserts were presented by the waitress bringing a tray table side of plastic demonstrations of the choices which looked very real. Neat idea. Not a place I'd go out of my way to come back to however the decor really made it stand out from all he rest of the restaurants which were all clustered on the same block. Keep your options open.

Red wine, bruschetta, and a beautiful day. Anything else required?

Oh Angeline, how you break my heart for being so far away! Excellent food and excellent service. It was funny to me (being American) that the inside dining area was completely empty. Usually this would be a bad omen, but it was a beautiful day and everyone was packed into the patio area along Rue Des Forges. My waitress spoke little English as I speak no French, but somehow we made it work. The menu surprisingly was in English, but maybe I was just given an English version. I cannot imagine a restaurant in Trois-Riviere not having French menus. I relaxed and watched the people pass while sipping on red wine and enjoying a delicious bruschetta with reduced balsalmic vinager, smoked salmon and capers. Simple and filling. The balsalmic vinegar was amazing. I never tasted anything like it in the US. Hopefully I will get to Italy one day to know what the real deal is like, but I have to imagine this was close. I was in Trois-Riviere on business, as my team members slept I went for a walk-about and decided to eat here. By the time I finished they called and asked me to bring back food. So I ordered 3 pizzas to go. The pizzas are personal size (about 12 inch diameter). I had a bite of one & let me say the crust was the most delicious I've ever tasted! As were the rest of the ingrediants. I devoured the discarded crust. (They cited calorie counting as a reason not to eat the crust) All the food I saw delivered to the tables around me was visually pleasing and I observed only satisfied affects as everyone ate. This is a place I could see myself being a regular if I spent extended time in the area. The price is on the high side ($16.99 Canadian/pizza) but well worth it for the fresh ingrediants. There was a man constructing hand made pasta visible from the inside dining room. You won't see that at Olive Garden! If you're craving Italian fare this place will not disappoint. FYI: No "unlimited breadsticks" here.

It was our first time in Quebec…read moreand learned that it's challenging to find English speakers in restaurants of smaller Quebec towns (versus Montreal and Quebec City where we hardly experienced any difficulties). However, if you learn some basic words and phrases, then that will go a long way towards forming a mutual understanding that you went out of your way to visit their establishment to get some of their food in your belly. Note, the younger the wait staff, the higher the likelihood that they will speak some English. We started off with the shrimp cocktail in a sauce that wasn't the basic cocktail sauce you get in the states, but something with a little flair and small dollops of a garlic ranch cream. Different, yet tasty! SO then had the duck confit and mushroom risotto...I took a few pleasing bites of the duck, which was a 1/4 size, tasty thigh-leg, and the risotto, which had a few varieties of mushrooms and was nicely seasoned. I had the flank steak cooked medium, which was accompanied by a nice vegetable medley of potatoes, peppers, carrots and asparagus along with some caramelized shallots with bacon...a tasty and hearty dish! Overall, the service was slow, but the food was good. If I could have schmoozed the staff in French, then I'm sure the service would have been faster.

The streets were closed to autos which made the experience even nicer, with the streets being busy with pedestrians instead of vehicles.

We were seated inside, and Mr. Bee started exploring the beer board and decided on a flight. The young woman working was so friendly and helpful to him making recommendations based on his tastes. I chose a nice chilled glass of wine, and we settled in enjoying the coziness, yet industrial feel of the interior. We decided to order a cheese board that featured local Quebec cheeses. They were great! We spent a good hour and a half, watching locals come in and out enjoying food, and drinks. Just know this is Quebec and everyone speaks French, so do your best and at least understand how to say please, thank you and enough to get through the basics, it is appreciated by the locals if you try. There is street parking if you are driving. If you find yourself in port and off a cruise ship, it is within walking distance of the port.

My husband went in, and not speaking French I had picked out two pizzas from their advertisements. However, when he came back there was anchovies on his peperoni pizza. He was flustered because no one spoke English, and they kept on asking him questions in French about what he wanted on the two pizzas that he picked out. This is frustrating. When I posted it on Facebook, many people told me "this is how they mess with the English speakers." I am not sure if that is the case exactly, but when I have travelled extensively (30+ countries) there are many times that I have pointed at the menu and the person...surprise...got what I pointed for on the menu. Luckily, none of us are too picky (and by this point so hungry) that we just picked it off. However, it was annoying. And it is too bad, because actually the pizza was really good...lots of lovely cheese. The poutine was good as well. Can't recommend this place, but if you are stuck...don't answer yes to any of the things they are asking you.
