Extremely kind and accommodating. My dog had a badly broken nail, and they were able to get us in same day to treat it. He's a very anxious senior dog and they treated him with very gentle and quick care. It was not the cheapest vet ever, but certainly worth it. read more

Horrible. Tried to charge me $311 for a "bottle" of apoquel (allergy medication that ANY OTHER VET will sell for $80).... We've been taking apoquel for 4+ years, lived in two states, seen multiple vets and surgeons, and I've NEVER been charged even remotely close to $300 for this medication.... talk about only being in the business for money. Go elsewhere. Maybe they're gouging customers to afford the new building next door????? read more

Called them Monday about my 3 year old Yorkie mix I gave her a 5 and one shot Friday by Saturday she started vomiting and hasn't ate anyway I called them fo some advice and the told me she they have never seen her they can't and hung up on me well now vets are all about the money to now I just can't believe how heartless this veterinary clinic is if I took her in I would probably have to pay$$$ up front before they would see her so I don't recommend that veterinarian clinic at all where is the passion for animals it's not there worst veterinarian office I going to file a formal complaint with the state of Texas read more

Have been using AVC for a number of years with our dogs. Over the years we have had to put some down, which has always been with compassion from the entire staff. We have also had dogs pulled out of dire situations by Dr Sherry Clark, one just a few months ago. She has saved a leg another vet felt needed to be amputated on another one of our dogs. During Hurrican Harvey we were 100 miles from home and my dog needed his monthly heartwarm. I went up to the nearest Petco and pleaded with the secretary who asked Darbies vet if you could please call in one month supply of heartwarm and was told no. WOW! I immediately found a new vet. I encourage people to take their pet's to Barazo Woods Vet instead of Angleton Veterinary Clinic, where the Veterinarian cares more about the care your pet receives than what is in your wallet. Dr. Dodson is in it frankly for the money than the care pets truly needed. I found that she was cold and dismissive of my pet's needs, While recommending costly procedures that my pet did not need. I will never bring my pet to her again!!!!! The care provided to Watson from Barazo Woods was impeccable and he is back to his old self again after having just the surgery he needed. Dionne B. This is an edited review. The first review was high praises because for 20 years, my family and I did trust Sherry with our pets. However, 2019 has brought on a whole host of continuous issues that have since led me to seek veterinary care elsewhere. I am unsure of what brought on these changes but the reasoning doesn't really matter when 3 different pets have been affected by her and her staffs lack of attention, care, and consideration. In January of 2019, I had to say goodbye to Wendy, a cat I had for 18 years. All care throughout her life was provided by Sherry and no one else. She lived a long, happy, and healthy life and I couldn't have asked for more. On the day that I had to say goodbye to her, I took her to Sherry for euthanasia. The process was heartbreaking but as best as it could have been. All staff was considerate and loving towards both me and Wendy. I opted to have her privately cremated with a return of her ashes to me. I was told that it would take up to 2 weeks to receive her ashes back and that they would call me when they arrived. About a week and a half in, I called to see if her ashes had made it back, hoping that I had just missed their call. I was told that they had not made it back but assured that I would be called as soon as they did. 2 weeks in and I still hadn't heard from them, so I called again. This time, I was told that their might have been an issue but the staff member that I was speaking to refused to take any responsibility, telling me over and over that she was not at work that day so she couldn't have been responsible for it and was unsure of what happened. I then called the cremation service that they use and asked if they had received my cat. He said that he didn't receive any private cremation cats from AVC but would check the bodies that he had in his freezer to rectify the problem if she was still there. Unfortunately, this was 2 weeks in and when the cremation service man called me back, he said that she was more than likely communally cremated and apologized profusely, even though this was not his fault. He even offered to make me a memorial for her at his cost because he felt so bad. I declined but thanked him and greatly respect his care and attention. Meanwhile, Sherry's staff had looked in their freezer to see if she had possibly been missed. She hadn't and it was confirmed that she was in fact communally cremated. I wanted to have a sit down meeting with Sherry to discuss my concerns and to voice how upset I was over this. She tried to speak with me over the phone but I insisted on meeting with her instead. I went in and Sherry told me that the cause for this oversight was improper training. Somehow, even though I had paid for a private cremation, staff had listed her as a communal cremation. She apologized profusely and assured me that they would be having a staff meeting to rectify the problem so that it didn't happen to someone else in the future. She also offered me a refund for the private cremation. I accepted the refund and told her that, honestly, I was glad that this mistake happened with me and my biggest concern was that no one on her staff wanted to take responsibility and face up to what had happened. I had already been grieving and when I found out what happened to her ashes, came to terms with not needing them back to find closure. Others might not have been so forgiving. I still had a bad taste in my mouth over this, but again, had been going to her for so long that I moved past it and continued to take my other pets to her. Mistakes happen. This was a pretty big mistake but I understand that stuff happens sometimes. I should have found another vet right then. Skip forward a few months to my dog Lexus. She was 11 years old and began having trouble laying down. I took her in to Sherry and had x-rays done. Sherry told me that she had arthritis in her lower spine and hip dysplasia in both hips, both common aging problems from a dog who had lived her life with no sense of self preservation. We started her on carprofen and, with the knowledge that at some point in the future she would have to be on pain pills every day, moved on with living. In July, Lexus suddenly developed a limp in one of her rear legs. I gave it a couple of days of laying on a heating pad, massage, and rest before taking her in to Sherry. At her visit, Sherry did nothing but a physical examination and told me that Lexus seemed to have a partial tear in her knee ligament. Crate rest would resolve the issue and a lifestyle change would need to be made. I felt like the issue was more neurological and told Sherry that she had began knuckling some. It wasn't severe but was enough that I felt it necessary to bring it up. She insisted on a partial ligament tear and so crate rest was what we did. 5 days later and her other back leg began presenting the same issues. We wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else. We've only had positive experiences with Dr Clark. She made me feel more at ease before saving our newly adopted puppy from parvo, after the ER vet told us not to get our hopes up. read more

I took my 7 month old puppy there 2/7/19 on a referral from a friend thinking it must be a good place, I called and spoke to the front desk person 3 times before I even scheduled and was impressed, but my visit today was quite the opposite...the owner and Veterinarian Sherry Dodson was rude, disrespectful, condescending, she belittled me, made snide remarks about me bringing my dogs supplements to show her, she made me feel unwelcome and made me feel as if I had put her and her staff out by asking them to interact with my dog in a calm quiet way because she's a working dog in training, she told me she was not going to walk on egg shells around my dog to appease me, she said she and her would basically talk to my dog how they talk to all their dogs I would just have to deal with it!! She made fun of me because of the way I feed my dog which is raw fed and said I don't think your dog cares that she's eating a cage free egg, instead of praising me for having a well behaved 7 month old 76 pound Rottweiler puppy...she said training her this young was to much pressure!! I am a certified positive dog trainer of 30 years and was a Veterinarian Technician for 13 years and I would NEVER dream of treating and speaking to a client in the way this person "business owner" spoke to me! She is the worst kind of human. I drove an hour to her clinic and spent $118 to be treated like crap. Her staff was embarrassed and her Technician that was in the room came out to profusely apologize to me and was so embarrassed by her bosses actions. I would never step foot in this clinic again and if you are thinking of taking your pets here DONT!! Sherry Dodson is a terrible person and should not be in the business of serving people. read more

This office just charged me a $100 "emergency fee" for picking my dogs up ten minutes after closing. This is poor business practices, and unfit for a professionally licensed entity. I would not suggest anyone take their animals here any longer. read more

I don't recommend this vet clinic for skittish cats. I've taken my 2 y.o. cat twice & while the 1st visit was just ok, the 2nd was very stressful for him. The receptionist took my cat out of his carrier in the waiting room to weigh him while strangers & other pets like dogs were busily causing disturbances. In the exam room, there was a bookcase, my cat loves to climb. Of course my cat is going to dash around & try to hide, esp. after the waiting room trauma. That kind of environment may be fine for dogs & some cats, but doesn't work for us. read more
