This is a small country pub that seems to be stuck in the 1930's. No food, Local cask beer, Barnsley and Sam Smiths bitter with guest Cask Beers.
Lager on draught but no cider except in cans.
Derek and Alison run the pub and he is a "true blue" born and bred Yorkshireman... both very friendly.
No telly or jukebox purely a drinking den.
Clients range from millionaires/farmers/tradesmen/labourers all rubbing shoulders and "chewing the fat".
Beer in clean glasses and tasty.. Decor, a lot to be desired.. Imagine a pub with sawdust on floor and this tells you about it. Dogs welcome if obedient. Open fire in winter with a woodburner stove in side room. To say a visit shall stick in your memory is an understatement... You shall either love it or hate it!!.. I shall be returning! read more
