Scrambled eggs, two sausages and HUGE wonderful fluffy pancakes. Delicious!
Kevin L.

My wife and I decided to come to Angela's for breakfast. We were greeted quickly and seated by our waitress. I had coffee and my wife had OJ and milk, along with water. My wife had the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast with diced potatoes and Fried Eggs and biscuits, along with extra gravy. I had the two scrambled eggs, two sausages and two pancakes (I think the #2?). Also a side of salsa. The coffee was great, and got a coffee pot of it for our table. Breakfast came quickly and my pancakes were HUGE! My wife loved her food and said it was the best Chicken Fried Steak she ever tasted. My breakfast was also great, and I almost couldn't finish it, but I managed...barely. lol. The restaurant was clean, service was wonderful and the food was superb. Thanks for a great breakfast.

Fried chicken and Jo joes.

Absolutely love this place. It's like a hidden gem in Midland Washington. They serve breakfast all day. I came here specifically for the fried chicken and JoJos and it did not let me down. Chicken was juicy, nice flavor, crispy skin really good. My only ask, if you provide some sort of buffalo sauce for those of us that like it spicy. I also got a blackberry pie because they make them fresh daily. And it was super awesome. I also ordered a side of mashed potato and brown gravy and it did not let down. I really enjoyed the fact of the food came out nice and hot.

Crushed the chicken and Jo's!

Food is always phenomenal. Best fried chicken and Jo's I think I have had. Sour cream is some of the best I have had.

3 piece with fries. I should have had the jojos.

This is a cozy diner serving some of the best fried chicken I've had. Can't wait to visit again.

While vacationing in Washington state, celebrating the new year, 2025, we were in Tacoma and looking for an amazing diner and we found it! We were right at home here and welcomed in by Sue and Halley! Their warm, generous service is the best! We ordered their cranbird and vegetable beef soup combos and the sandwiches were loaded with moint turkey and delicious cream cheese and cranberry! The vegetable beef soup was hearty, delicious, and loaded with vegetables and chunks of beef! My wife enjoyed her grilled cheese sandwich too! We finished with their delicious blackberry pie heaping with hand-scooped vanilla ice cream and lemon cream pie, both super delicious and home made of course too! The ambience is very enjoyable with several locals frequenting this diner. We really enjoyed our dining experience here and will be back during our next visit to Tacoma! Thank you very much Sue and Halley for a wonderful dining experience!

If you are looking for Americana this is the place. Old school diner food for sure. I had the SOS an interesting interpretation but it was tasty and a good serving. They have in house pies and cakes that looked great. My girlfriend said they tasted good. They are real friendly here our waitress had worked there for 20 years. My mom who was with us recognized her from when she used to eat there years ago. If you are looking for a down home diner this is the place.

Finally checked out the chicken & jo's at Anglea's in Tacoma off of Portland Ave. Fun experience. The fried chicken was really good. Loved the laid back diner atmosphere. They started me with 3 jo jo's at first and brought out 3 piping hot fresh ones shortly after. That cool sweet sour cream was a treat for dipping. The waitresses were absolutely sweet also!

Nice family grub grab. It was late, we were hungry, they were open. That's some pretty low hanging fruit. I called in our order and was told that it would be 30 minutes. I arrived at the 30 minute mark and waited another 10 minutes. OMG, it was worth every second of the wait. I was sent away with two giant bags of food, apparently they miss heard me when they asked my name. I told them David and I think they heard football team. There was certainly enough food to feed one. Not only was it plentiful, it was delicious. It was such a treat to be so warmly welcomed by restaurant staff when I was arriving so close to closing time. I'm looking forward to going back earlier in the day when we can sit and enjoy a meal in house.

At the counter sits some fresh cinnamon and pecan rolls!

Great diner food. Quick service, Peggy's cinnamon rolls in the morning and the best pies in the area. Decor is fifties diner.

First time visitor to Tacoma and holy heck this place was great... the vibe for Friday happy hour…read morewas off the charts... it made sense that there was no availability for tables so we opted for bar! Luckily we got there around 5 and were able to get 4 bar seats. Our server Colin was awesome! He happened to be from San Diego like the rest of us which made for great conversation and attentive service! The Happy hour was not just a good deal but the food was outstanding.... We ordered the oysters, chefs burger (OMG), empanadas (delicious) and the star of the show was the prawn and turf (that sauce and sourdough combo was amazing) Literally counting the days till I'm back, golfing at chambers bay and stopping by asado on the way back.

We got the Lomo ($68) and the Parilla Mixta ($50) with the mashed potatoes and the polenta. The last time we came here, they brought out a delicious complimentary bread but it seems like they don't do that anymore. My boyfriend liked his lomo (filet mignon) and it had a nice sear and the chimichurri and demi glace was delicious. My parilla mixta was yummy but the skirt steak was on the blander side and the sausage was nothing special but I really like the shrimp and the polenta was delicious. Overall everything was fresh and the food came out quick and our waitress was really nice. The restaurant wasn't too crowded when we were there but it looked like it was filling up and it is a cute spot for a date night or dinner with friends! It's definitely on the pricier side but we would come back to try their pastas or other dishes!

First visit, on way home to Olympia Sunday after a matinee at the Paramount in downtown Seattle…read more Arrived a bit early for our reservation and were seated promptly. Server was attentive, very friendly, and knowledgeable. My wife enjoyed a frost cosmo. We then started with roasted calamari (which was quite flavorful, although the meat was a bit tough) and herbed focaccia (wonderful for dipping the calamari sauce). The ahi special and boneless short ribs were our entrees; both came nicely presented and were very tasty. Both pretty full, we ended up with a bourbon chocolate cake and fruit hand pie to go, which were both delicious. The restaurant is not large, and filled up while we were there, making it somewhat noisy, but not bad. It is a nicely appointed, appealing place, with a great team making it all happen. We'll be back.

I'm going to crush this restaurant because the bartender drove the worst experience I've almost…read moreever had in a restaurant. I worked in a restaurant starting as a teen. My brother was a chef du cuisine, not a cook. He taught me decades ago how to make a dining experience worthy of people's spending. This was not it. The food was amazing but left the experience me feeling as if I wasted my money. The grumpiness of the individual behind the bar where we sat and ate was showmanship beyond unprofessionalism. When he dropped off drinks...no eye contact, no acknowledgement of our thank yous to him. Utterly embarrassing for the establishment, and for us to support it. If you are that miserable, you should not be outward facing to represent a business. Bartending is an art rooted in many aspects beyond drink making, especially if you are representing a business in service. No offers of drinks with empty drink glasses after rounds 1 and 2. No acknowledgement of empty dishes with wishes of subsequent courses that we were interested in. Yikes, this was bad.

We arrived around 9pm-ish on a Saturday where they had live music playing at the bar. We asked to be seated away from the bar as we wanted to have conversations and felt the music was too loud to do that and our hostess was more than happy to accommodate that. Our server Wizz was absolutely the highlight of our visit as he ensured everything we ordered was brought out, checked in us at appropriate times and had a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, they were out of the pink crowns which seems like it is a popular choice as our server shared they only had the yellow and blue one. My brother got the sausage pasta, my boyfriend got their beef fried rice, my mom and I shared the Just the Basics seafood boil, and we got onion rings to share. I know last time I did the birthday package, I was only allowed to use from the alcohol options of a margherita or a Blue Hawaiian but I prefer fruity drinks and the Blue Hawaiian is a slushie drink. Luckily it seems you can choose a Roy Roger or Shirley Temple (used to be for kids' birthdays) and I went with the Shirley Temple. It was okay, I feel like it was more Sprite tasting and not much of the grenadine. The food arrived and everything tasted great. We were really impressed with the seafood boil and everyone got to try it out even though it is suited for one person. The yum yum sauce that comes with the fried rice is heavenly and my boyfriend who doesn't use too much sauce doused his fried rice with it but it was absolutely the best. My brother enjoyed his sausage pasta as well. We got our ice cream which was refreshing after all the food we devoured. They even brought out the magic candle which they say is reserved for parties of 6 and more but it just shows that Wizz wanted to make my birthday memorable. Two employees came over with Wizz to sing me happy birthday which felt genuine and not forced like at other restaurants. We got our photo which also came in this cute green frame to take home, that's a huge set up as I was just given the photo when I last celebrated my birthday. Definitely looking forward to come back to use the $10 gift certificate and for an amazing time.

It is definitely the old black Angus. The decor is almost the same. And on Sunday night, you could hear the jazz in the lounge, which was nice. Ordered Long Island iced teas and they were all alcohol so if you like alcohol, this is your place. I asked for extra Coke which they gave me with no problem. The appetizer plate had hush puppies, onion rings, celery, mozzarella sticks, and the infamous wings. The wings lived up to the expectations and we will definitely be back to have wings here again. Also ordered a feeling crabby, seafood boil with snow, crab, head, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes in the house special sauce, and it was very good. Almost as good as Captain crab. And the crab here was done perfectly. Definitely coming back to try more things on the menu Our total with two drinks, appetizer platter and feeling crabby with tax and tip for 3 people was $110 (& we did have some leftovers) Was so busy eating that I forgot to take pictures (next time)

We arrived early, and were seated at about our reservation time. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. So far so good. I had the 12oz prime rib. Our guest had the seafood with scallops. My wife had sirloin and shrimp. For the salad/appetizer I had the lobster bisque. The ladies each had the Caesar salad. The prime rib was supposed to be medium, but had zero pink and about 4oz of a big slab of fat on the end. It was a bit tough. The knife given to me probably would not cut butter as there were no serrations left on the blade. I would say the cut of beef was choice at the most, still a bit tough when I asked for a knife that would cut the meat. My lobster bisque had very little lobster in it. I finally found a couple of small pieces at the bottom of the bowl. The Caesar salads had little to no flavor according to the ladies. The scallops appeared to be breaded and were well overcooked. The shrimp on my wife's plate were overcooked and tough. So much for the not so good stuff.... Our Yukon gold potato mash servings were good. My wife's sirloin steak was well seasoned and perfectly cooked for her. The best part of our meals were the deserts. Cheese cake, Key Lime pie, and the cream boule. The business was very busy and the staff members were working hard. The view today was as exceptional as we remembered from previous visits. Two of us are mobility impaired. I only saw one DP parking spot at the entrance drive up area. There were none in the parking garage. The garage is under the business. There was no elevator for those who are mobility impaired. There may have been parking across the street, but I had not paid attention to that lot when we drove up from the east. I had to take the steps one at a time, using the hand rail, hanging my cane from my opposite arm. I would give the food today two stars, and the service four stars. With that I settled on three stars for the overall experience. No, I did not complain about the food today to the staff, just asked for a knife that would actually cut the "prime rib". I did not find out about how the ladies felt until we were in the car leaving. We should have gone to "Texas Roadhouse" on Joint Base Lewis McChord. My wife and I had great steaks there on Monday. I wanted to take the ladies someplace very special for Mother's Day, thus the reservations a this establishment. Enough said!
