I have been a progressive customer for 10 years. I recently updated my home owners insurance as the…read moremarket has changed. BIG MISTAKE. Their inspector clearly states that my roof has at least 6-10 years of life left but they're requiring me to replace it or dropping me completely. You can't speak to an actual person in underwriting--only communication is through email. You can't get ahold of anyone who knows the laws or even about home structure... you get to speak with a representative reading from a computer screen. They give you vague answers to your questions and have no care in the world. It's been an absolute terror to deal with them. I added a handrail, replaced shingles that had blown off after a tornado had come through, replaced bent gutters that were ruined from that same tornado, had trees trimmed and accommodated every request/concern they had with insuring my home... according to the inspection report that I had to fight tooth and nail to obtain. They ignored my updated photos and refuse to review the report. They still won't agree to reinstate my home insurance as they continuously say my roof needs full replacement. I've offered to send video of my running across it, jumping up and down. No results. Just uneducated idiots behind a computer with no personality and no care in the world.

No problemo there.... but when it came to actually helping me in my ONLY time of NEED in my entire driving life, they screwed me to the MAX!!! At age 53 I had been in the ONLY car accident in my ENTIRE LIFE OF DRIVING (53-16..... 37 YEARS!!!). It was deemed my fault because I (guess) I swerved to avoid falling debris from a work truck in front of me. I really don't remember anything because my car was being hit multiple times on the 5 Freeway. My car is totaled, I am lucky to be alive. When I called PROGRESSIVE for a tow for my car they said "Oh, yes Ma'am. That will be $175." I said "What???" I have roadside assistance included in my policy. I have used it maybe twice in my life for a dead battery situation. She said that there is some "technical" difference between a "disabled" car and a car that has been in an accident. I said "What is the difference?" A tow is a tow is a tow. She said the difference is $175 and was not able to explain further. "That is just the way it is"..... When I bought a new, used 10 yr old car (modest 4 dr. Saturn Sedan) and got my policy renewal notice my rate more than DOUBLED to almost $200/mo. For a 53 yr. old woman with one accident in her life (which I chock up to an unfortunate occurrence due to flying debris, but was still deemed my fault). Talk about adding insult to injury. I will start shopping immediately for a new provider. If anyone reading this has any suggestions, please let me know!!! Flo is all fun and games, real life with PROGRESSIVE in my only time of need, after years (if not decades) of being a loyal customer with not even a late payment.... has been HORRENDOUS!!!

He overcharged me hundreds…read moreof dollars for years and now that I have left he has the audacity to ask for another $26.70 from me. He sent it to collections after 2 months rather than return my phone call. My complaints with him and Allstate have fallen on deaf ears. Is $26.70 worth damaging their customer service reputation? For me, it's about principle.
