I was quoted $40…read more During that phone conversation, I was never asked about the length or amount of my hair, nor was I informed that the price could increase based on hair length or volume. Had I been told that upfront, I could have made an informed decision before coming in. When I arrived, I was initially greeted by another employee. During our conversation, an older woman named Maria suddenly jumped in and reached toward my hair without even asking. I instinctively moved away because I was already engaged in another conversation and did not appreciate someone reaching for my hair without permission. I then asked who I had spoken with on the phone the day before, and Maria said it was her. Since I assumed I was in good hands because we had already spoken, I decided to let her do my hair. Unfortunately, the service itself was extremely disappointing. While washing my hair, Maria appeared frustrated and barely washed my scalp. I honestly felt that my hair and scalp were not properly cleansed. She then began pulling and aggressively handling my hair. My hair was not matted, nor was it extremely difficult to manage, so the excessive pulling felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. The technique was simply not what I expected from a professional stylist. I was then placed under a dryer, and I did not see any heat protectant being applied before my hair was blow-dried. Eventually, Maria handed me off to a much younger stylist, who completed my hair. Then came the biggest issue: when it was time to pay, Maria charged me $60 instead of the $40 I had been quoted over the phone. I questioned the price, and she explained that I had "a lot of hair" and that she didn't know that when she quoted me. My issue is that she was the person I spoke with on the phone. She had the opportunity to ask about my hair length or explain that the price could change based on length or volume, but she did neither. I ultimately paid the $60 because I did not want to argue, but I made it clear that I would not be returning. On top of everything else, the salon itself appeared run-down, and I was concerned about the cleanliness and sanitation practices I observed. For a salon where customers are trusting you with their hair and personal hygiene, cleanliness should be a priority. This experience was disappointing from beginning to end. If the price is going to depend on hair length or volume, that information needs to be communicated BEFORE the service--not after the service has already been completed. Customers deserve transparency, professionalism, proper hair-care techniques, and a clean environment. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

I arrived about 5 minutes before my appointment and checked in. My stylist came to get me about 10 min pass the appointment time. No biggie. She was very nice and did a great job listening to what I wanted all the way through the end. My make up artist picked me up right after and was very patient, listening to my goal for the shoot and checking in with me every step of the way. One disappointing moment: When I asked if they had a yelp checking in reward, the cashier said no, but surprisingly, when I checked in they had 20% off your service. Location is very good, with plenty of parking if you don't arrive close to happy hour as this place is right next to Don Julio Cantina (Margaritas anyone?) I'll probably give them another try if I ever need professional hair or make up.
