I dropped off a pair of slacks and my daughters prom dress to be altered. A few days later when I picked up the slacks, she had ruined them that they can not be worn. She is not a tailor!! When I asked for my daughters prom dress back because I no longer wanted her to work on it, she said she didn't have it she was busy and would have it tomorrow at 1 then turned her back to me. The next day I went to go pick it up and she still didn't have it, it took me 3 attempts for me to get my daughters dress back each time she was extremely rude. Angie is ALWAYS busy, but that's a good sign. We took in several pairs of jeans for my daughter and they all came out perfect. I was worried there would be unsightly seams, but you would never know the jeans had been altered- they fit like a glove. Angie even let me pick up the items after hours and that helped me out a lot. read more

Oh my god I was never treated so rudely and poorly by a business before. The workmanship is very poor, found prices to be a little high, but most importantly the quality of work and the way I was treated I give this establishment a 0. She was down right rude and extremely abrupt. read more

I am beyond frustrated at the lack of customer service at tailors in this area. First I left three pairs of pants that needed simple hemming (no cuff) at Precise Alterations for nearly a month before requesting they be returned to me undone (see that review). I then brought them to Angie Alterations. The owner listened compassionately as I described my experience and assured me the pants would be ready in one week. "That's not acceptable," she said of my monthlong wait and that the owner never even called to warn me. "I'm glad you came here," she said. I left hopeful but nonetheless waited nine days (instead of her promise they would be ready on day 7), fearing a similar experience. I must have ESP because I arrived on Day 9, and the pants still hadn't been hemmed. She hadn't even called to say they weren't ready yet. She said, "Go do an errand and come back," and I said, "No thank you, I'll come back tomorrow." Well, it's tomorrow and I'm sitting in the waiting area because they're still not done. No apologies. Just, "Can you wait a few minutes?" I am a reasonable, patient, forgiving person. But what happened to the integrity of a business owner communicating delays rather than just expecting me to turn up again and again, only to find the work remains undone? I will not be back to either location. Unacceptable lack of respect for the customer and my time. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with alterations. Not only was my dress not ready when she said it would be ready, when I picked it up, it was still not taken in at the sides. When I requested that the additional work be done, she worked on it at that time. I tried the dress on and he workmanship was terrible. It was puckering at the sides where she stopped sewing. When I requested that she fix the pucker, she said I was difficult and that I should not come back. Upon returning home, the rest of the work that was completed was also very poor. She is rude and not a good seamstress. Do not go if you have a nice item or if you need it timely. read more

I am so beyond happy that I found Angie's alterations. Zullie (not sure how she spells it) is so good at what she does. She delivered right on schedule for fixing my "mother of the bride" dress. I even made last minute changes and felt so bad because I changed my mind on how I wanted it done. She did such a good job and was so patient with me. I've been to several alterations places around Cornelius, Angie's is by far the most reasonable priced and she has always done great work for me. She either marks with chalk marker and or pins always for length hemming. So you can see right there if the length is what you want. And she is happy to adjust if you want it longer or shorter. I recently took in a long gown that I had purchased several sizes to big. It was the last one and I loved it. I took it to Angie and she took it in everywhere, hemmed it and raised the slit on the side. It fits me perfectly now. I think Angie does an excellent job and again, I believe that she is the most reasonably priced in the area. read more

They hemmed my bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding and did a beautiful job on a material that I am sure could be difficult to hem. They even got it done in 2 weeks to ensure I was ready in time for the wedding. Would recommend especially for formal dresses! Also, the lady who works here is so nice and very helpful! read more

This was really really bad. I have never been more angry at a store probably in my life. I was told that my dress would be ready in a week on Thursday (today). THREE separate times I had to go to Angie today. Not one singular time was my item ready. I called her at 11am and asked if my item was done. "I don't have a blue dress". I then explain that I gave her the dress on the exact day and time. Then she says it is not ready and that I need to come in immediately to try on said dress. I come in. She has not a clue what I am there for. She then said to come again at 4 and the dress would 100% be done. I ask again: "will the dress be DONE?" "Yes." So I come back at 4pm. There are 3 people ahead of me. She is working on the first man's items. I am politely told to sit and wait a few minutes. A few minutes becomes 65 minutes. Finally, I see my dress in her hands. Not a SINGLE stitch has been made in a week. I ask for an estimate on how long this will take. She says "Hmmm maybe an hour?". I tell her that I have already missed dinner and that I cannot wait here any longer. I tell her i will be back before 7. I call at 630. She says the item is not ready and it will not be ready until after 7. I finally say, with much attitude, "I really need this dress." We hang up and I get a call 6 minutes later telling me that she is done. I show up at 710, and my item is ready for me. But, it doesn't stop there. She then proceeds to rip out a large safety pin from the side of my dress and rips it. She says nothing. At this point I am actually far too stunned to speak. Flabbergasted. I give her my card and THEN see that it 13$ more than it was supposed to be based on the original receipt. Needless to say, i will not returning. read more

Quiet possibly the worst customer service I have ever received. Wanted to charge me $100 dollars to take 2 inches off the hem of a dress. When I told her, very nicely, that I wasn't expecting that (I have had many a dress hemmed and never paid more than $30- even for a formal gown) she got very defensive. I apologized for the confusion and offered to pay her for her services of pinning my dress. She grabbed the dress out of my hand and started RIPPING the pins out. I tried to stop her telling her that I would be happy to pay her for the work she did, but she needed to leave the pins in. At this point she kept arguing with me until I threatened to call the police if she didnt give me my dress back. She charged me $20 to put 10 pins in my dress, 6 of which she pulled out, putting a run in the dress as she did so, as well as what looks to me a small grease or ink stain. Highway robbery. Horrible customer service. Terrible business practices. Stay away. read more

Horrible Horrible service. I've tried to use her several times and items are never ready when they promise. Usually 2 to 3 weeks late. This time I dropped a pillow off 4 weeks ago and every week she says " very busy next week" we'll next week never came. Today I finally had enough of her " very busy " never again. read more

My brother goes here all the time to get his pants hemmed and she does a great job. So I took a bridesmaid dress which was ordered about 5 sizes too big. I was nervous that it wasn't going to come out right the first time because of the size difference. BUT...I tried it on and it was perfect! She does great work!! I just returned from an international trip and have only a small window of time to get ready for a domestic trip. With that said, these jeans that I've had that haven't fit in a while fit now and I wanted to take them with me on my domestic trip. Problem is they were about 3 inches too long and needed to be hemmed. I looked online to find an alternations place around 3:15pm yesterday when I got into Cornelius and most of the places I found had closed at 2:00. Also most of the places were not open on Sunday and my flight for my domestic trip was on Monday. So really I had to find a place that could get the job done on Saturday itself. I called Angie and took a leap of faith on her when she said she was open, they closed at 5 and she could alter my jeans the same day. Not seeing any reviews of her work and not knowing if the place was reliable or not, I just took a chance and dropped of my jeans. I am soooo glad I did! Angie had my jeans ready on the dot at the time she specified for pick up and the workmanship looked excellent. She even has fitting rooms to use to make sure the alteration was done correctly and offered for me to use one of the rooms to try on the jeans and make sure they looked right, which I did, and they looked right. The job cost $13 (tad steep) but well worth it for quality alterations. read more

I took 4 pairs a dress pants to be hemmed and a very expensive pair of linen shorts that needed to be hemmed and taken in about 2 inches. All items were perfect and the price was very reasonable. This the 3rd location I have tried in Cornelius and by far the most reasonable priced and a good job. I wished I would have tried Angie Alterations sooner!!! read more
