This was my very first tattoo so I was a bit nervous and excited coming in. The staff was cordial and polite as they asked me some basic info on what design I wanted and where. I don't speak French but their English is amazing so it was really easy to communicate. @raulmartintatuaxe on insta did my tattoo. He offered to add some customization to the design that I brought in and I'm so glad I accepted his suggestions. We both speak Spanish so it was really nice getting to bond with another Spanish speaker while getting tattooed. He was kind, patient, and made jokes with me as I braved through the pain. I'm from the US but the artists in the shop were so welcoming and kind that I would fly back to Montreal for my next tattoo. Since the price is in Canadian dollars, it was slightly cheaper than what I was expecting so that's definitely a plus. read more

i was visiting from New Jersey and contacted Angerink about receiving a piece, i emailed them and the studio manager contacted me right away. the process was smooth and simple. i paid the deposit right away via pay pal. i also paid for the tattoo with my credit card while in shop. i booked about 3 weeks out. luckily the piece i wanted was simple and easy theme, but the manger suggested an artist for me that was available 2 difrerent days i was in town. i got a fleur di lyss with Stephane and couldnt be more pleased with it. my appt was for 1230, and i was there until about 4. we were speaking via instagram prior to the booking and he was professional and had great communication with me the whole time. my piece if beautiful and so clean. i highly suggest booking with him - he seems to nail b&w and photo realism. he was easy to work with and my piece looks stunning. read more

If you want to get ripped off it's the perfect place for a tattoo ! I won't say names because at this point the artist was in the wrong over charging me and rushing yes but I gave the owner a chance to correct the situation in a professional manner . unfortunately they don't know the proper way run a business ! To make a long story "short".. I was a walk in , I showed him multiple tattoos that are all the same theme to show him what I wanted my sleeve to eventually look like , he said no problem but your arm is small so it will be smaller ! When he was done he asked if I was good but I'm no tattoo artist so I tried to explain that it didn't look done ! He was slightly offended so I said yes and got ready to leave knowing I could add to the tattoo and get it fixed by someone else but if he added more it was going to be a bigger job to cover to look like my inspiration picture ! When I said this I was thinking because he spent a total of 1 hour from the time I entered the room to when I left that it was going to be max 300$ even tho I would say this is worth 150$ -200$ max but sadly I was wrong ! For ONE HOURS work he charged me a grand total of 793$(this total is including his 15% tip that wasn't an option to skip )! My husband got a tattoo from the same shop they spent 8 hours on his arm and was charged 800$... I'm not the person to embarrass someone and make a scene as there was about 10 people waiting for tattoos so I paid and immediately called when I left ! The lady was nice told me to e mail pictures ! The person that called me first was also very nice he explained to me that this isn't that artist normal work , realized the mistakes and thanked me for being patient and kind about the situation! He offered me a $200 gift card which I appreciated Cause it was better than nothing but I'm not from Montreal so I asked for it to be returned to my MasterCard ! He said he would ask his boss and see if he could get me any additional money as he knew it was overpriced and not what I wanted ! Almost a week later I msg again explaining the phone call and that I never got a call back !whoever msg me back was very rude, ignorant and the least bit professional! I didn't appreciate the response , So once again I explained (not so calmly this time ) the situation ! In the end of our convo would rather them keep their 200$ gift card cause if they can look at this tattoo and tell me that this isn't a shitty ,overpriced rushed job then the studio can't be trusted and I won't be back get robbed a second time ! It's sad because Previously to this experience my friends , husband and I were all customers anger ink! our home town does not have a tattoo studio so we get our tattoos when we go to Montreal ! . Called on a Tuesday morning to ask if they did walk-in tattoos which they did! The artist (Fede) was extremely calm and delicate and took time to draw our tattoos and make sure we really liked what we drew (even though the tattoos were very small and simple). This is more of a review of the prior reviews of this place. The place seems very aptly named - mostly because MOST of the people who had experiences here are very angry! I already have 8 tatts - done in places across Canada - one in the U.S. My "go to" guy here in Montreal unfortunately passed - he did 5 of my 8. I found another place here which is very good, and I am very happy with their work/shop/price but my new best bud wants his first inking and I need a new one - so I thought, to be fair to HIM - I'd check out other places. Firstly, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the reviews you post in general. This is the FIRST time I have seen a place so thoroughly criticized on SO many levels - what with customer "service", attitude, work ethic (cough) - and the HEALTH ISSUES! I finally have found the day to write this review on Anger Ink located in Montreal, Canada. Some of my close friends and I decided to take a trip to Saint Catherine's street in January of 2019. This trip was something that we we're all looking forward to, and it was a bonding experience for all of us. During this trip, we came across a tattoo shop. We all talked about this tattoo shop during our stay, and we all decided that it would be memorable to all get a small tattoo at this shop while we we're on our trip. We had called the shop in advance and they were helpful on the phone and had told us that they were able to take walk-ins for small tattoos which started at a base price of $100. This sounded good to my friends and I, and we headed in during that same afternoon. Upon arrival, the shop seemed to be up to par. It was clean and had a nice atmosphere, and even had a pet pitbull to greet customers at the front of the shop. The first worker we spoke to was very nice and helpful to us, even though most of the workers spoke French (as expected). My friends and I understand the basics of French and would have been more than happy to speak to the tattoo artists workers if they had issues understanding us. Two of my friends got tattooed first while my other friend and I waited for ours. My tattoo artist's name was Francis. He came off as unfriendly and only spoke to us in French so we had told another worker what we were looking for for our tattoos. I chose a small Taurus symbol as that is my zodiac sign. The tattoo was simple and very small, and I requested it to be on the front right side of my hip. The tattoo artist Francis did not seem happy to have us as customers. I am not sure if this is because we we're tourists, or if it was because we did not make an appointment in advance. A couple of my friends even noticed that he was talking to a co-worker about us in French, not knowing that we could understand what he was saying. He was mentioning that we came in all at once and was talking about pricing saying that he was going to raise the price (which was not really a problem for us). When it came to me getting my tattoo, I could tell something was wrong as soon as he began. I have multiple tattoos in different areas, some on bones like my shoulder and ankle, and I have never felt a pain quite like this. The first thing that went through my head is that the tattoo artist was pressing down too hard on my skin, but then again, I am not a professional tattoo artist so I did not say anything. The tattoo was over quickly seeing as though it was small and a simple design. Immediately after leaving this tattoo shop, my tattoo was bleeding under the tape that he had placed over it, which did not concern me because this is not uncommon right after a fresh tattoo. It was not until a week or so after returning home from Canada that I noticed how bad and blown out this tattoo truly came out. Now, I am finally here writing this review two years later after saving up enough money to get my tattoo removed which will cost me more than 5 times the price I had paid for the tattoo itself. My friends tattoos came out blurry and fuzzy as well, but that is their story to tell, not my own. My family has even made jokes about this tattoo seeing as though it is so thick and blurry, calling it my "playboy bunny" tattoo. This experience was something that will stick with me forever, and the poor treatment of my friends and I by this tattoo artist was something that I have never experienced from an artist before. If an artist has an issue tattooing tourists or walk-ins, he should refuse to tattoo them instead of leaving them with permanent tattoos that are awful. As much as I love Montreal and cannot wait to return, I will forever warn people of this tattoo shop. It is not worth going to a place like this. read more

Went here to get my 1st tattoo. They took some time to attend to me however once they did, getting the tatto itself didn't take long. I was super scared that it would hurt too mich but James spoke to me the entire time and it was over before I knew it. It cost me around 100 bucks for my piece and it turned out the way I expected. I had an horrible experience at this place. I bought a 50$ pair of earring there. They even charged me the taxes but no receipt (so I guess they keep the taxes they are charging for themselves). I arrived home and realized it was really cheap and falling into pieces. I couldn't even wear them. So I immediately messaged the place asking for their refund policy. They just answered me to come back with them. I came back at their shop and explained my issue and asked for a refund. The girl refused. The owner came and just refused to hear my point pretending he never refunded anyone in 11 years and it was on the receipt (that I didn't get). When I tried to argue with him, telling him it was really cheap stuff sold for 5$ on Amazon, he just started yelling at me going on and on saying he is not refunding anyone. When I tried to show him how cheap it is and asked him if he would buy cheap stuff like this for 50$, he just ran away. In 2018, who yells at an unsatisfied customer! Now I understand the name of the shop "Angerink", they are definitely angry and don't value customer satisfaction. They could have just recognized the situation, made an exception and offer a refund. Such a waste of my time and money. Don't tell me to come back if you knew you would not give me a refund. Even when I asked the girl at the counter to order me something better, she showed me her screen from their dealer (https://store.painfulpleasures.com/) and it was under 3$ earrings that they are selling for 50$. And she was not ashamed to tell me they have to make money. They are just about money not about customer satisfaction like they are pretending on their website. I wanted to shop local, pay a little more to get my stuff faster than online. What a mistake ! I could have just bought online, get a refund if it was not right and being treated like a valued customer. If you can't provide an outstanding client experience why people would go to your store ? I can't imagine anyone going there for tattoos or piercing. I just feel bad for them and people working there. Based on other bad reviews I read , it seems this is standard behavior for this shop. Was dying to collect money to cover up a tattoo only to end up with another semi unpro tattoo. I was honestly disappointed cus I went all the way to downtown to get a nice looking tattoo only for it to make me wanna cut my hand off tbh. Am still gonna come for a retouch I hope you fix it a bit. I kinda don't recommend . The staff and place is great but the artists are not what I imagined walking in a downtown tattoo shop. I went to get pierced there at the end of the day with two of my friends. We were not necessarily expecting getting pierced that day and we wouldn't have minded coming another day if it was too late in the day. The piercer (the owner, Yan Del X) agreed to still take us. He was extremely rude and rushed us through the whole process, even though we were all pretty nervous, but we weren't acting obnoxious. As soon as he agreed to pierce us he told us to hurry up and take off our shirts for the piercing. We felt kind of weird being rushed but understood because it was the end of the day. We did as he told us and hurried up. During the positioning of the piercing, he was complaining about how he was late to go meet his girlfriend for an event, and that now he had to pierce three girls. I thought that was extremely unprofessional and rude, especially since we made him a quick last minute 300$. Also, I now have a crooked nipple piercing, probably because he was too much of a hurry to give a damn. I will never go back to that place and neither will my friends. I guess he thought it was fine to be rude to us since we looked like young naive teenagers, but I feel like every customer should be valued and felt welcome, especially in a nerve-wracking situation. read more

IN SHORT Giving them 3 stars because although the piercers attitude was horrible, the the place was clean his practice was professional (and i'm in love with my piercing.) My friend and I went in for 4 piercings total. I had my conch and left upper lobe pierced, while she had both her upper lobes pierced. THE PROS Unlike the experience others have seemingly encountered, i was greeted as soon as i entered the door. The receptionist was friendly and informative. The place was clean and the tools were sterile. The piercer we got made sure he took his time to do everything properly. Some might say that he took TOO much time, ( as it took over an hour to get 4 piercings ) but i'd honestly rather it take 4 hours and be done properly than 30 minutes and have it be infected the next day. THE CONS I don't know if it was just the luck of the draw, but the piercer we encountered looked ( and acted ) like his dog had just been run over. Barely smiled, or talked and made my friend and I feel twice as nervous about the piercings we were about to recieve. It almost truly felt like we were bothering him by coming in to get pierced. The price. Honestly, their pricing falls right in line with most of Montreal's higher end piercing and tattoo parlours. But if you're looking to get pierced on a budget, this place isn't for you. All in all, if you're a piercing newbie and are looking for someone to make the experience less stressful and fun, depending on the piercer, anger ink might not be for you. read more

Do not waste your time or money if you are from the United States! My son had an appointment which he paid $100.00 US funds to secure. He had to change his appointment twice due to work related issues both times giving more than 2 weeks advanced notice. Unfortunately things happen and I was not going to be able to drive him, when he asked to reschedule a third time they refused to rebook and kept his deposit. Not what I would call good practice. If there is a limit in a reschedule it should be made public, possibly even a warning on the second reschedule might not leave an angry customer at bay. read more

We can't be less impressed with JP "Grim" Denis who just didn't show and strung us along by texting colleagues that he'd be there soon. Extremely disappointed. To say the least we left without any ink which sucked as this was a birthday outing which was planned well in advance. I got tattooed there for first time of my life about a year ago. The staff was nice and friendly. I had an appointment really easily and they didn't ask for a deposit, which was nice. As mentioned, it was my first time and unfortunately the tattoo artist that I had (I don't remember his name) didn't make me feel really comfortable. He made me felt like a stupid teenager who just wanted to act rebel with a tattoo... but it really had an important meaning to me. Anyways, I can understand his point of view and I'm maybe overthinking his attitude. BUT I specifically asked when I took my appointment for an artist who's good with fine lines and precise work... My piece was the map world... and the artist apparently never had seen one before, which seemed surprising to me but anyways... I asked for specific details and it seemed to bothered him more than anything. I was like "I really need the contour of France to be visible and precise" and he wasn't able to find the country on the map... which is ok, but when I showed him where it was, the work didn't get much better. So I kind of let it go, I was kind of happy with his draw and said "ok, let's do this, sorry for taking so long", I was kind of embarrassed but I mean... a tattoo is for life I wanted it to perfect... Turns out it's not perfect. So I went back to the shop and asked for touched up, which he kindly did but... it actually got worst! At the end, It's not exactly what I wanted. The details are not as precise as I had hope, there's a mistake on my map... I asked for very thin lines and they are actually pretty large... I love my tattoo overall but I have to admit that this tattoo shop, or at least the artist that I had, wasn't great. I wouldn't recommend this place. Horrible customer service!!! I brought my teenage daughter in to this shop to have her nose pierced. The "receptionist" kept saying "I am just the receptionist I have to make sure the piercer will do it" (my daugher is only 13 years old). So we waited and waited and waited. Nearly an hour later she informed us that he will do it and we filled out all the forms and showed ID. Then waited some more. Finally the piercer came out and looked at our form and said "she's only 13 I need to see if I'm allowed" so off he went again! We then saw him all gloved up with a mask talking to some guy with a dog (which was a red flag to me-re hygiene). They then go into a room and he serves this man without bothering to let us know what was going on. I asked the receptionist again "how much longer" she again said "I don't know, I'm only the receptionist". By then we had wasted about one hr 15 mins. So I had had enough. We left very upset and I told her "your customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. No respect for your clients time". And she literally laughed at us as we walked out the door! read more

Feeling ripped off I was recently on a trip to Montreal and was very excited to have a tattoo on my finger that I have wanted for a long time. I have many tattoos and am well aware of how high maintenance a finger tattoo is. Although Fed who did my tattoo was great to have, my tattoo looks like I wrote it myself in pen. After 4 days the tattoo looks like what it should in a year. I was fine with paying the $100 dollars for something that took 5 minutes as I understand shop rates but to pay that for a tattoo that is disappearing isn't right. The owner did respond to me after I decided to email them first but only to tell me it takes 10x to have it last. I have many friends who are artists and friends with hand tattoos and not one of them has ever experienced this regardless of where it is. A tattoo is a tattoo and should look like one from the get go. Needless to say I am not happy and now have to pay someone else to fix it. Going on to about 3 years ago I got a cartilage piercing at this location while on vacation. After talking to my usual piercer at home, I was told that they pierced my cartilage on an angle which ended up causing scarring that I continue to have to this day​ and can no longer get a double helix pieced on that ear again.
