A cozy experience in a small town theater. Arrive early to find parking as this small main town street can get busy in the evenings.

Tonight we took in a movie of Puss 'n Boots in theater #5. This only seated 17 people but the chairs were comfortable and reclined electronically along with a footrest. It seems like they were possibly recent upgrades. They were the nicest seats in a movie setting I've experienced. The seats also had swivel desktops that reminded me of something we had at school in junior and high school years. One minor drawback is when seated one sunk in lower in the chair than was ideal. They also had admission and popcorn prices were seriously so reasonable compared with theaters in metropolitan areas. You would of thought they were throw back prices of a bygone era. A welcome choice to visit.

Small town movie theatre with historic gold country murals in the large theatre. Reclining seats, and you can buy beer.

    What are matinee times?

It's always been any movie starting before 6pm :)

Do they have a snack bar with food or is it just popcorn? No one mentioned food in their reviews. Thank you.

Our hot food selection includes pizzas, hot dogs, warm soft pretzels, and nachos.

An employee came into the theater and told everyone we would be refunded for our tickets, refunded for our food, and given comp tickets for the inconvenience. We stood in an extremely long line just to refund our food, and instead of simply processing the refund, they took the food back, even though it was obviously just going to be thrown away. It felt petty, almost like a punishment for asking for our money back. The process was disorganized and unnecessarily complicated. We were then told to stand in a separate line to refund our tickets. Even with my receipt, I was denied a refund because I didn't have the physical paper tickets. Instead, I was given comp tickets, which I didn't want, because after this experience I have no intention of returning. Despite what was announced to the entire theater, we were not given both refunds and comp tickets. Staff were rude, unapologetic, and showed zero concern for the inconvenience caused. Technical issues are understandable. Poor customer service is not. This entire experience felt dismissive and poorly managed. It was a major inconvenience.

It's been a few years since we've been here, and this theater has been kept up well. Specifically to the IMAX experience: : no recliners!! Comfortable seats that do rock some, but wow do I miss not being able to recline. A bit uncomfortable after a while, and with a 2 1/2 hour movie plus 20 minutes of previews and commercials...ugh. Sound was amazing, I'll add that. But overall, great place to see a movie.

Things seem more ALIVE!! Activities and charity. New stuff that isn't just your standard movies, anime and opera and so much more... I LOVE THE MEMBERSHIP IDEA! $25 a month to see unlimited movies? (Mostly!) That's a date night win for me!!! There was fun music playing in the concession area... adult drinks say what? Pizza??????? Caramel corn popcorn??? Lots of food upgrades really... yum yum... there are still some dated things.. YES there are long previews - but - plan accordingly people... you book your seat, so show up 10 minutes later or go get some upgraded snacks and support the staff that way... Okay... small rant... Hey fellow movie goer... pick up your trash please - we can all be a bit more kind and classy rather than toss it on the floor?? I heard/saw this on the way out of a flick from parent to kiddos - that is NOT "job security" clearly for these few folks that work there... especially when there are clearly garbage cans there on the way out geez... do people leave trash all over work site saying it's YOUR job security?? Now that's just my opinion and maybe it's how I was raised you leave a place as you found it (or better). These folks probably have enough on their hands making sure you have good fresh food and keeping movie going kids from being crazy chicken jockies and who knows what else goes on.

Pulled up expecting a little Disney magic. Got a museum exhibit from 1999. But the staff? Absolute…read moreangels. The VR is honestly the main problem. The graphics are not "retro charming." They're "did this render on a calculator." It's giving PS1. It's giving early Tomb Raider triangles. Pointy mountains. Flat water. Characters moving like they're buffering. I kept waiting for it to level up and it never did. It felt less like immersive VR and more like I paid to watch someone's unfinished game demo in a headset. And that's what makes it frustrating. The seats and the setup scream "this is about to be Soarin'." Like Disney California Adventure. Wind. Depth. Realism. That feeling where your stomach drops and you forget you're in a room. Instead I got "high tech seats" attached to low-tech visuals. Like putting a spoiler on a Prius and calling it a race car. The experience is clunky too. The motion doesn't match the visuals well enough to sell the illusion. So you're not transported. You're just... aware. Aware of the headset. Aware of the chair. Aware you spent real money to time travel backwards in graphics history. This should be breathtaking. It's barely "interesting." It's the kind of VR where you start roasting it mid-ride. Quietly. To yourself. Like, "oh wow, look at that polygon. She's thriving." If there was a "skip cutscene" button, I would've pressed it with my soul. Now here's the twist. The staff is the best part of the entire place. Super helpful. Genuinely kind. Patient. They felt bad that the VR wasn't hitting and you could tell they were trying to make it right with hospitality alone. That's rare. They're the reason I'm not giving this place a full villain edit. Restrooms were decently cleaned. Not sparkling, but respectable. Minus a couple moments that made me wash my hands like I was prepping for surgery. Bottom line. Come with zero expectations for the VR. Like subterranean expectations. If they ever upgrade the content, this could be amazing. Right now it's a tech tease with bargain-bin visuals. Staff deserves a raise for carrying the whole thing on their backs. It's giving... Avatar prices with Minecraft graphics. It's giving... Soarin' from Temu.

Incredibly uncomfortable!…read more My dad and I decided to switch up our routine and visit the Regal Turlock location since they had an earlier showing of the movie we wanted to watch (Crime 101). We had bought vouchers online at TicketsatWork for our tickets and snacks. When we presented them at the concession stand, the worker seemed to have never seen them before. She scanned the vouchers and added the items we requested to the system but was having trouble removing the cost of the items. She had to call over another coworker to instruct her on how to do it. Thankfully we arrived early, otherwise we would have likely missed the beginning of the movie because it took quite a while. After the second worker helped us, we were able to upgrade the voucher's small popcorn and drink to a large for only a few dollars. We noticed that this theater does not offer a self-serve butter machine. You have to tell the concessions worker that you want butter on your popcorn and hope that they will do it sufficiently. The theaters themselves are truly awful. I was expecting the seating to be like the other nearby Regal locations but was quickly disappointed. The seats here do not recline and are incredibly tiny. I have been on budget planes with more spacious and comfortable seats than this. They are cramped with no leg room at all. The backs of the chairs are short so if you are tall, your neck will just be flopping around. When the movie ended, they did not even raise the lights. They left the theater pitch black as the credits roll where they usually raise them so people can exit safely. I would say though that I appreciate them having security (although minimal). About a quarter of the way into the movie, a man with a orange cone flashlight came in, stood for a while, and left. I will not be coming back and will keep going to the Modesto location.
