My son has gone to AMS for 2 years now and truly could not speak more highly of a school in all aspects a parent and student could speak to. Let's start with the outstanding curriculum; he is 5 years old, reading, writing, knows 70% of the states and their locations, geography all together, science and biology's, and all the appropriate social interactions and skills people need to build sturdy foundations for life. The teachers; I won't deny they are strict, but not in a negative way. The rules and boundaries they teach our children help them become organized, focused and aware. Let me just say this, as soon as I carried over their method of rules into my home, life has become sooo easy! In addition, the teachers are all very well educated, friendly and truly caring to the students. The tend to their needs appropriately. I have had many hours helping in the classrooms or during school events to be able to observe these things outside of just the time dropping off and picking up my son. The school physically; off of the main strip so its not completely out there in the open and is surrounded by a residential area. These classrooms are very clean and organized. Cubbies, hangers and folders for each child so no need to share. There are plenty of materials for all of the diffent levels and stages of learning. A big thing that was a plus is the kids get raised cots and you having individual easy to use bedding for each child during nap time. The outside is fitted with a large covered patio, swings, grass space, large play structure, large enclosed sand box, chicken coupe and gardens. They get great life experiences and lessons with gardening and taking care of the chickens. The teachers are very good about making time to talk with parents regarding the happenings of the day, how good or hard a child is doing in something and to answer any questions or address concerns. The person that said they called, but got no answer...you really missed out! I have a step daughter going to another preschool unfortunately and as we researched other schools, I have never found one that compares to AMS! If you want to give your child the best foundation in life, this would be it! I wish I had learned of AMS sooner!

They were consistently well cared for, and we always felt confident leaving them in such a warm, attentive environment. It has a very homey, family-run feel, it doesn't feel corporate or overly institutional. The teachers are loving, supportive, and genuinely invested in each child's growth and development. I also appreciate the "old school" atmosphere: plenty of books, hands-on learning activities, and a great playground space. There are no electronics or constant digital updates, just kids engaged in learning, playing, and being kids. The daily routine is structured in a way that encourages independence, responsibility, and positive social interaction. We are very grateful for the experience our family had there and the strong foundation it gave our children.

My son enjoyed all of his teachers at this school. He had Miss B, Miss Melissa and Miss Delmy. After months of searching for Montessori school in the Concord area. We came to interview at Montessori School of Concord. I remember waiting inside of the classroom for the interview with Miss Delmy, a young girl went up to me and asked me if I would like a bottle of water. I was blown away by the interaction from the girl. I knew right there that I wanted my son to attend this school. When my son started at Montessori School of Concord, his first teach was Miss B. She was a great teacher for the toddler class. My son took a while to adjust. He was shy and always cried before going to school. But after 3 months, he finally got over his fear. During his first year he got promoted to Miss Melissa's class. He flourished in reading and writing. The patience Miss Melissa has for her students is amazing. I would not have any other person help guide my 3 year old son at the time. Once my son got promoted Miss Delmy's class, I really saw him add and subtract in math. As a 4 year old, he would read books and enjoy reading on their own. I cannot express how much Miss Delmy and her staff really cared for each student. Miss Delmy can command the classroom and have fun with them too. Unfortunately I had to pull my son out of Montessori School of Concord because we moved to Alameda. I would of loved to keep him there but the commute was too long. It was hard to see him leave behind the BEST group of educators that truly embraced the Montessori way! I wish we could of still lived closer so my son could of graduated from the school and learned from the best. I hope you reading this will find this helpful in choosing the Montessori School of Concord.

Both of our kids loved going to school every day and still talk about it fondly. Maria and all of the teachers taught them so many incredible skills, from counting and reading to tying their shoes and feeding a goat. When we enrolled our son as a 3 year old, we didn't know much about the Montessori method, but rather chose the school for the incredible outdoor curriculum. Over the next 6 years, we learned so much. This school didn't just teach our children to develop a love of learning and curiosity, but it actually made my husband and me better parents. We learned about giving each of our children space to try new skills, and how to best support them when they stumble or "fail". We learned how to support each of our children individually in a way that took into account their personalities and strengths. We started to utilize some of the daily life skills at home and our kids developed so much confidence. They were eager to have more personal responsibility. This isn't just a school that will watch your children while you work. They will nurture a spirit of confidence, curiosity, and team work you probably don't know is possible with a four year old. I think that any parent worries about entrusting the care of their children to others for any significant period of time. Of all the choices we've made over the years, sending our kids to Myrtle Farm remains one of our proudest decisions.

Decades later, my own son attended preschool and kindergarten here (2023-2025), and seeing him experience the same warmth and joy meant so much to me. This school is genuinely one of a kind. The farm setting creates such a peaceful, nurturing environment that you just don't find at traditional schools. Children get to learn while surrounded by nature, animals, and open space, which makes learning feel natural and exciting. One thing that really stands out is the classroom environment. Many preschool and kindergarten classrooms can feel chaotic, with bins of random toys everywhere, but that's not the case here. The classroom is bright, calm, and inviting, filled with carefully curated and beautifully organized Montessori materials that encourage focus, independence, and purposeful learning. The Montessori approach really works. By the time my son graduated kindergarten, he was already reading confidently -- but even more importantly, he developed independence, curiosity, and a real love of learning. The teachers and staff create a caring, respectful community where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. It's rare to find a school that stays in your heart for decades, but this one truly does. I feel incredibly grateful that both my son and I were able to be part of such a special place.

The educators are experienced and genuinely dedicated, guiding and leading not just in the classroom, but in every interaction throughout the day. What sets Springfield apart is that they don't take a one-size-fits-all approach -- it's one size fits MOST, meeting children where they are and helping them grow at their own pace. The administration team is outstanding and truly hands-on, involved in day-to-day operations and knowing each child by name. That level of personal attention is hard to find. With over 35 years of experience as a private Montessori preschool, Springfield has a track record that speaks for itself. I can't wait for my grandchildren to attend and have this same incredible academic experience as I've seen, firsthand, with so many children who have come through the doors. Highly recommend to any family looking for the best start for their little ones.

I really wanted to love this preschool, but unfortunately our experience with the admissions…read moreprocess was so poorly handled that I would not feel comfortable enrolling my child here. It started before we even toured. I spent some time trying to get in touch with someone and received no response. I was ultimately only able to connect with the school after a coworker, whose child currently attends, reached out on my behalf. Once we finally had a tour scheduled, the school canceled on us the day of the tour and rescheduled us for the following week -- despite the fact that we had taken time off work specifically to attend. When we finally toured, we actually liked the school and were excited enough that we planned to enroll our child. We discussed the schedule we needed and understood that the 7am-6pm option was available. We told the staff that we would immediately pay the deposit. She was fine with us leaving to go home to get our check and coming right back. We live 5 minutes down the road. We left to go home and get our check and returned immediately afterward to secure his spot. In that very short window, we were suddenly told the 7am-6pm schedule was full and that they could only hold 9am-3pm. If we needed care outside of those hours, we were told it would be an additional $30 per hour. I understand that preschool spots are limited and availability can change. What I cannot understand is how a family can be sitting in the school discussing enrollment and availability, leave specifically to retrieve payment, and return shortly afterward to find that the schedule they had just discussed is no longer available -- without any communication or acknowledgment of the "confusion". The entire experience left me with serious concerns about the admissions process and the emphasis on additional fees. When you're choosing a place to care for your young child, communication, transparency and trust matter enormously. If communication is this difficult and inconsistent before your child even starts, it is hard to feel confident about what communication will look like once your child is actually in their care. Afterward, I went back and read through Yelp reviews and was surprised to see other parents describing similar frustrations with the admissions process, including concerns about communication, transparency and cost. Obviously I can only speak to my own experience, but reading those accounts after what happened to us reinforced the concerns I already had. I understand the school has recently had a change in admissions leadership, so perhaps some of this is related to that transition. Regardless, families are making significant financial commitments and, more importantly, trusting a school with their children. They deserve clear information, empathy and consistent communication throughout that process. We genuinely wanted this school to work for our family. Instead, after time of unanswered outreach, a tour canceled the day of after we had taken off work, and then having the schedule we were prepared to pay for become unavailable in the short time it took us to retrieve our check, we walked away feeling that we could no longer trust the admissions process enough to enroll our son.

Though we didnt get to benefit from it, I really like the association with the Choice in Aging senior services next door and could see that being a real plus for everyone in the future when things calm down. They have moved the preschool to a different area of the site temporarily to prepare for a multiphase construction and it looks really nice. The site will benefit from wholesale renovation as it is aged. I went 4 stars because of things independent of the care of the kids, basically the administrative aspects (pricing, planning, communication, etc) were frustrating. I would not hesitate to send my child there again but be prepared to have some frustrating moments.

Their curriculum includes literacy, science, math, Spanish, music, outdoor education, and more! They welcome & celebrate students of different racial & ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, family structures, and socioeconomic statuses. Our daughter started attending Concordia when she was three, and it has been her "home away from home" ever since. (Ms. Daniela in the Children's House is pure magic!) Our son was older (2nd grade) and was, at first, unsure about going to a new school. However, after his tour and first meeting with Teacher Neysa in the Junior Elementary, he was hooked! He literally ran into the house, when we got home, and started posting signs, everywhere, that read, "Concordia all the way!" "Concordia is the only school for me!" "YES to Concordia!!!" Finally, Concordia is an intentional community that not only supports the student, but extends their warm welcome to the whole family. The entire staff go out of their way to connect with parents/caregivers, with the utmost kindness and joy. Kathryn M. We highly recommend Concordia to anyone. My only concern is that we'll have to leave after 6th grade!!
