Dear Giuseppe's Bakery. O.M.G - the birthday cakes were amazing, and the designs came out EXACTLY…read moreas I hoped and the cakes were delicious. And maybe you are not curious about the family reaction, but I MUST tell you about it. My sons and I arrived at my sister's house, and we walked in with the cakes (birthday cake #1--white cake, Louis V flat topper, yellow filling, birthday cake #2, Joe--stick figure bicycle, and cake #3, July/August birthday honorable mentions: This is how it went down--Monte opened the door as he saw us bringing in the cakes and presents and my sister (married to Monte) put the boxes on the counter where I said I wanted to open Monte's cake first. Up to the counter walks my brother, Joe, who immediately says, "where's MY cake" to which I replied, you want to see your cake--gimme a minute, and then he said, is it even the right flavor, so now I am getting extra sassy, "Do you NOT think I know what flavor cake yours should be" and starting opening up stick figure chocolate cake. But, brother Joe still has to be a smarta$$ (it runs in our genes--totally an inherited trait, I think I saw it on my 23 & me DNA profile--it comes from my Dad's side of the family) and now says, "well where is Joey's cake?" (Joey is my niece's husband who happens to share a birthday with my brother. This time I answered, "B*tch, please. Simon--open up cake #3 with the July/August birthday cake and disclaimer at the bottom!" Needless to say, my family smarta$$ expections played out EXACTLY, actually, even better than I had hoped. HAHAHA. Reviews from my family regarding the cake designs were -O.M.G - these are so perfect - Monte not only loved the Louis V cake, but pointed out he was wearing LV at the moment. The cake quality and flavors tracked 100% awesome (my aunts used to decorate cakes like you do, and my family was super impressed--please note, impressing my family is hard because we all speak sarcasm as a second language, and most of us have Ph.Ds in Passive Aggression, and if you ask an opinion, you will unfortunately get a fully honest one. Well, you guys passed my crazy family's cake expectation exam with flying colors! I am not used to so many people in my family being honestly impressed--EVERYONE took pics of the cakes. Everyone asked where your bakery was. You all reached Aunt Lottie and Aunt Mary cake skills 100% and that is like winning 28 olympic gold medals in one day. Finally, truly thank you for putting up with me. My last note for those of you who left bad reviews or complained about the cake prices -- these ladies are BUSY and running a business. Do you even know how much time and effort goes into mixing the batter, baking the cakes, and then the entire decoration process? If you want a $20-30 cake, go to friggin Meijer or Costco and get over yourselves. Time is money, and if anyone appears rude, maybe stop for a second and remember the world is on fire right now, and everything is super expensive--if you want a professional cake done for you, expect professional prices. I hope I can upload photos of the cakes here. I forgot to take a picture of the top of Monte's cake, but rest assured, my whole, super picky, crazy, opinionated, family was in love with all of your work. THANK YOU!!!
