Angel's Cafe is located a short distance off the main Jewellery Quarter drag, offering a sit-down service with a selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well as a variety of hot and cold drinks and desserts. It's incredibly small inside, with seating for perhaps 16 people at the most. The service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. They are happy for you to mix and match menu options according to how fussy you are (I am very much so).
The cafe has a radio, which was playing Classic FM when I was there very handy for unwinding at lunch time, and a vast improvement on the Radio 1 et al you tend to get in most places. My hot sandwich was tasty enough, but I would have preferred the bread to have been warmed and the cheese to have been melted, rather than added almost as an afterthought.
As a venue for a quiet, relaxing lunch, Angel's is a good option. The place filled up after I arrived, and there were customers who either left or had to wait around for a table, so I would recommend trying to beat the rush if you plan on eating in. read more
