The exterior of the building is nice enough since it sits back into the woods a little. The place appeared to be clean. What I did like to see was that it was Sunday and one of the staff was almost holding sermon and she was singing gospels beautifully. Most of the occupants appear to not be doing that well and some are definitely experiencing dementia. Always a sad place to visit and experience.

My father paid for a full month for my mom to stay here while she was dying. They let her lay their for hours until my family threw a fit for them to give her meds because she was crying. She passed about 15 minutes after she finally got her meds. She was in so much pain she could not pass peacefully because of these people that don't pay attention to their patients. Another complaint is this company owes my father a refund for 28 days & he has been given the run around on a refund since February about this. I've been calling on the phone & yesterday they told me they would have a answer for me today. Today I am told the manager is out until May 1st & I have to call back then. You may find this hard to believe, I am still trying to process this. After being released from…read morethe hospital on 11/06, my mother in law finally received a visit from PTHC Newport News VA on Monday 11/24. She was evaluated and had OT on 11/25, a social worker visit on 11/26 and her nurse visit on 11/28. The nurse spoke with her for about 45 minutes and did her vitals before she left. She was told her lungs sounded clear, no wheezing, no congestion. Her temp, BP and pulse ox were good. In 15 hours, my mother in law complained being short of breath and when I took her pulse ox it was 56! This Saturday morning, we called 911 and had her transported to the hospital. She was found to have fluid on her lungs and she developed pneumonia. She was admitted to the stepdown unit and progressively deteriorated. She was taken off the respirator and passed away on Tuesday. How did Personal Touch Home Care not catch this? The delay of services was frustrating and should have never occurred, but her being evaluated with obviously such a serious condition literally took her life. We are heartbroken and in shock. I will never forgive them.

They have been extraordinary at providing both PT and nursing services. One nurse that really stands out for me is Brent . He is extremely professional and caring. he is everything that represents nursing and care. I've had much better care with this team than I did at the hospital. They are thoughtful and provide the level of care needed for proper healing. I've experienced this twice with them and I'm very happy to know that this service is available for me when I need it.
