Saying goodbye to our beloved fur baby, Jay-Kee, was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, and Angel Oaks met us in that moment with so much kindness and compassion. They didn't treat this like just a service, they treated us like family. Every interaction was gentle, patient, and filled with genuine care. They were accessible, answered our questions with empathy, and helped carry us through an incredibly painful time with grace. Our baby passed at 3:00am and they were able to take him in by 7:00am. We received our baby back the next day. We will forever be grateful for the love and respect they showed us and our sweet Jay-Kee and for helping us honor him with dignity. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Angel Oaks.

I had the pick-up option for my girl. I didn't have the heart to give her her last ride in my truck. They were here just a little before the scheduled time. The gentleman that came to get her was super sweet about our loss and getting her. We got updates about her arriving at the facility and once she was ready. I do wish I had an update on when she started THE process tho. Once she was ready I hauled ass to get her and bring her back home. Rest in heaven baby girl. We miss you so much!

I am grateful we have Angel Oaks in the area. I've had many dogs over the years, some have passed naturally in their sleep and others were with euthanasia due to their progressed conditions. All the times we've been able to arrange their cremation at the Vet office. Yesterday, my oldest girl reached the time when she was ready to go. Marilyn was 13, she was a joy to have around. Despite her conditions, she was still going. It was comforting to have a place to take her. I'm only interacted with John and he was quick to provide all the information I needed. My husband's experience was positive while at the facility. I appreciate they caught my mistake and corrected my entries to reflect I wanted her ashes back. I am sure it's not an easy business, but thank you for seeing a need and providing a solution. Highly recommend this business.

Today we had to say goodbye to our 12 year old Labrador who has had been diagnosed with bone cancer and lost the use of her back legs. I have been emotionally preparing for this for some time so I remember when I scheduled the appointment being compartmentalized enough to get this appointment scheduled. I remember speaking to the scheduler who should've been my first red flag. There was zero empathy in her voice very cut and dry which was fine at the moment because I wanted to get this scheduled and save my tears for after the call. I requested an 11:30 appointment time. She said that was fine but it might be a little earlier and asked if I was fine with that. I imagined a little earlier it would be 15-30 min tops not an hour and a half before. I woke up early with her and we sat in the yard while I drank my coffee next to her and planned to take her to her favorite pond in a wagon then run by a burger place on the way home. We had everything loaded up ready to go and I get a knock on the door and see Dr Redden has arrived already at 10am. I opened the door and said "hey! I'm sorry you're really early we were just going to run her to a park really quick and get her a burger. She then said they had scheduled me for 10 am they don't schedule 11:30 am appointments. It would be 10 or 12. She said they would either have to do now or come back tomorrow. We had already emotionally prepared our kids and ourselves for today though and I didn't want her to have to endure another night of pain. So I asked her if she could check her phone and double check she had the right time. She went to her car and said yes that was the time. I didn't know where my phone was at the time so I took her word for it that I made a mistake on my part. As soon as she left I found my phone where they had sent me an email and saw that I did in fact make an 11:30. I called the vet clinic to ask what happened I was super confused on the gaslighting. They passed me to John and he said I was confused they only book manually and wouldn't have ever schedule me at 11:30 he said they had the whole thing on voice record. I asked him why I had an email that said 11:30 and I guess that's the time I supposedly scheduled it but the text on my side confirm I schedule at around 9am. He does start getting defensive and raising his voice and talking faster when his receptionist text my phone accidentally instead of his saying that I did schedule an 11:30 but it's not what we discussed. At that point I was infuriated. This is already a terrible day and on top of that they were making me feel like I was the one that was at fault. Just beware before you call this place i wish now I just stuck with our original vet who's been doing this for over 30 years and still had the empathy when she delivered our dogs diagnosis. You will not receive that from John or the scheduler or Dr. redden.

This company is absolutely amazing. My beloved lab got out of my yard, got hit by a car and died on impact. I called, received a link on my phone to complete and within an hour someone arrived to my house to get the dog. The company automatically creates an account and keeps you updated with each step in the process with kindness and professionalism. I was able to pick up the cremains the next night.

I called them and they told me that they couldn't help since they only help with euthanasia and don't assist with cremation after a dog has died. Laps of Love recommended that I google search "pet cremation" in my area. So, I did that and found Four Paws Pet Cremation of Houston. To my surprise, they were in my neck of the woods just 30 minutes away. I immediately called them and was told that they were open 24 hours and to bring my dog in to be cremated (as he passed away in the yard that same day). I was told to fill out a form via a link to be sent to my phone, but I don't have a smartphone so therefore I couldn't do that. I asked if I could fill out a form in person and was told that I could. So, we placed my dog in a padded box to make sure his body was comfortable to transport to Four Paws. When we arrived, their front door was locked, with their vehicles out front. I didn't understand why the door was locked on a 24-hour establishment, so I knocked on the door. I was greeted by an elderly man with glasses. He greeted me with a smile and told me to retrieve Pocky from the vehicle. The waiting area was very small with two chairs to sit on. My whole family came to see Pocky off as he has been in our family for 15 years. Pocky lived to be 15 years old. I had him since he was a puppy. The elderly man gave me a paper form to fill out. I filled it out and requested a paw print with a special urn, but decided against the special urn as the complimentary box was a nice option. The elderly man kept asking if I wanted private. He asked me three times back to back at which I told him yes each time. My sister and I even discussed with him that we wanted a paw print and he agreed to make us one. He said that it was popular. However, when I went to retrieve Pocky's remains. I walked into the establishment and the elderly man was there again. He remembered my dog's name and we joked about his age as he wanted me to guess. He asked me again, "Did you want private remains?" Even after the fact. I told him, "Yes, that's what I requested before." He showed me everything that came with the cremation, a poem, a seed to plant of remembrance, the certificate, and the wooden box with the remains. However, I did not see the paw print that I requested originally. I asked him, "Where's the paw print?" The elderly man said, "You didn't order one". I told him, "Yes, I did. I checked the box on the paper form." My sibling came into the establishment and agreed that we requested one. So, the elderly man walked to the back of the establishment puzzled. I guess he was trying to search for one. Then, he came back to the front and was looking through his sketch pad. He said, "Oh, I didn't write down that you requested one". I said, "Well, you can see on the paper form that I did." So, he found the paper form. He is analyzing the form and looking directly at the form, he says again, "You did not check the box." I said, yes I did. So, low and behold, he sees that I marked an "x" to a paw print. He admits that I did request a paw print and he appeared to be disappointed. That's when the owner, Brandon walks in. The elderly man tells him his mistake. Brandon appeared to be more apologetic than the elderly man! Brandon tried to make things right by offering a refund or even a necklace. I was already disappointed since I trusted them through this process. Brandon refunded me $30 in cash and apologized to the elderly man. He said that he wouldn't just give me any ol' paw print which I appreciate, but at the same time, it sucks that Four Paws did not honor what I requested. This is my dog who is a family member. To anyone considering Four Paws to avoid what I went through, please bring with you a yellow highlighter when filling out the paper forms if the elderly man is at the reception. Mark and even circle what you are requesting. This business would be 1000X better if they didn't have the elderly guy working the reception. This would have been a 5-star review if they had done the right thing and been thorough with checking the forms. Why have me fill out a form if you aren't going to abide by it? That's the mystery. I don't even know if the remains I received were Pocky's only since the elderly man constantly questioned if I had chosen private or communal. Absolute disappointment and a letdown. I won't be recommending this business to anyone and will not return in the future.
