The Angel Inn was a really good find. Independently owned and operated village pub with rooms. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent local beer straight from the barrel, racked up behind the ba, which is full of friendly locals who obviously love their pub.
I enjoy good food and am pretty picky, so I can be difficult to please. This place is definitely worth the detour, as they say in the Michelin guide. Good menu with an interesting selection of meat and fish dishes, good standard pub dishes in addition to these, sausage and mash, fish and chips etc at £8.00 (2010), with the more restaurant style main courses at £12- £15 (2010), great deserts at £4.95 and an excellent cheese selection for £6.95.
They provide a lovely board of fresh baked white and brown bread with butter and dipping olive oil free of charge. Service is really very good and the wine list although limited is good value and most tastes are catered for with the offer of 175ml or 250ml glassed available for a good number of the wines. Can eat outside or inside.
Hope you enjoy it read more
