With my mom being 80 during the time of Covid, we were concerned about folks coming in that could easily be exposed to others. Due to Mom's failing memory, we had security cameras setup and could easily & regularly monitor her and her caregivers. We could verify that they wore masks, gloves, and practiced good handwashing practices. We were so grateful to have the same 3 caregivers on rotation, especially with Mom's increasing dementia. They always made sure to help her to restroom, especially before leaving their shift. As parking could be a challenge in the evenings since she lived in an apartment, the evening caregiver would go out of her way to show up early to make sure that parking wouldn't causer her to be late. That's care! They would patiently listen to her tell the same stories over and over and constantly engage her. We just couldn't be happier with the care and professionalism of the CHC team and would definitely use them again.

I am absolutely disgusted by what happened this morning involving an employee by the name of Nelly Carbajal. I was headhunted for a Coordinator position with Cambrian Homecare of Long Beach. Was encouraged to submit an application and participate in a video call the following morning (today). Mind you, I had taken time off work to research this company and be present for today's video call. I'm currently trying to make a career pivot from shipping and distribution into more administrative-based work. I was excited about this opportunity, only for my hopes to come crashing down ten minutes before the scheduled call was to occur. I'd been notified that Nelly was going to move forward with other candidates and she cancelled the call. I was left bewildered and infuriated. This was very tasteless and unprofessional on her behalf, considering I could have spent my time earning extra money rather than taking a half day at work. Please be more considerate of people, their time, and their circumstances. With all of the connections I've made through my volunteer work in the city of Long Beach, I'll be sure to spread negative word of mouth about this organization whenever prompted.

Bella Vida Hospice was introduced to me and my family to care for my God Father. Me and my family are so thankful for Jesse and the entire Bella Vida Hospice staff. When I called with questions their Intake & afterhours team was so patient and informative. They actually called back with updates when they said they would. Their RN case manager, Jasmine, visits were right away and didn't take long. She cared for my God Father and provided him dignity with his care and his end of life wishes. We had a room full of people every visit and she was so informative in a time when we needed that the most. Bella Vida's social worker, Elizabeth, arrived just when my God father passed. It's like she knew we needed her without us having to ask. She helped answer questions about arranging a Veteran's removal for my God Father from the assisted living he was at and guided us in arranging a mortuary buy giving us options in our area. The RN who arrived after our loved one passed came in with such gentleness and gave us time to process his passing. He respected my God Father and his family's wishes and handled all the aftercare so we didn't have to. Hospice staff does end of life care everyday but with Bella Vida it was like we were their only focus. Medical staff come and go, and you forget their names in life but we will always remember who treated your loved one during the hardest time of or life. We want to send heartfelt thank yous to Jesse Hawk, Jasmine and Elizabeth and to all the Bella Vida staff who held our hands during this deeply painful time. We are forever grateful.

For 6 months my husband was contracted with Crystal. They were really great UNTIL! a company…read moreLorain bought them. They assured that we could keep the physical therapist we had, but all of a sudden things came to an abrupt halt. No phone calls, nothing. They misled me until his current case needed a new review so they could get all the money they could because they knew that if we didn't get to keep our therapist we were leaving them. I contacted the therapist directly and was told they no longer have a contract with them because they use their own. So I called Crystal/Lorian and asked about the experience that their physical therapists had and the answer was " oh we will send someone "! My husbands case is complex and needs an experienced therapist, not just "someone". It's just a paycheck to them not to help a suffering individual. Then I got a text from them telling me that my insurance cancelled my husband. Another lie! He was never discharged physically from them, just on their say so. We were going to drop them because I can't trust them and don't want to listen to their B.S. So now we have to start all over and see if we can find our former therapist. Think twice before you consider this company. They are using Crystal Home's past to get clients and believe me they aren't anything like Crystal Home be for the buy out.
