This is very hard for me write as my dad passed away recently. My dad had advanced Parkinson's and it was getting harder for my mom to take care of him full time. We needed someone to help my dad a few hours in the evening, a few days a week. This agency came highly recommended by my parents' primary care physician. They matched us with a male caregiver, per request, it worked out ok. My dad didn't really care for him that much, the caregiver was not as empathetic as we thought he would be. But one evening, my dad went into cardiac arrest... the caregiver had no CPR skills, which we were not aware of. 911 was eventually called, but by the time the paramedics arrived it was too late, my dad had been without circulation/oxygen to the brain for over 20 min. Yes, my dad had some underlying health issues, but we can't help but wonder, if he would have been still alive with proper CPR given immediately....... We now are aware that most caregivers are not CPR certified. They only know basic skills- the activities of daily living. This is not ok, especially when you are taking care of the frail elderly. As an agency PLEASE move forward into making sure all of your employees are CPR certified!!!!!! You just never know what situation can occur, especially after what happened to our dad : ( * *** found out also the caregiver had charged us a full evening of care for when the event happened and signed my mom's signature. The event happened early in the shift and my dad was eventually taken to the hospital. My mom did not sign his time sheet and time worked was only 1 1/2 hour!!!!! As a worker how can you lie about that?!!!!! I eventually talked to Brenda, the nurse care manager of the agency, and got it straightened out. This was not ok! read more

My mother entered at-home hospice but needed 24 hour care. My aunt and their best friend took care during the day but I needed someone to come in the evenings to relieve them to sleep, because my mother needed pain medication administration on an hourly basis. Gie at Mae Morgan responded promptly, and had her supervisor Brenda reached me over a weekend and they were able to find a home caretaker for that very evening with very short notice. My mother went in hospice and my brother and I were tasked with finding care. Some staff at the hospital were kind enough to give us a discreet tip by pointing to this agency on a list of many... Janice knew of a match for my mom and it was "May D" who is literally an angel on earth! My mom felt this way as did everyone .. family, friends, hospice people.. just went above and beyond in every respect. We had other caregivers for the weekends but May was live in during the week. I was also living in my mom's home while she was on hospice so I can tell you it was like having a long lost sister. We were lucky and didn't have to even contact other agencies.. This is a followup review after utilizing Mae Morgan Agency in support of my mom for almost a year now. The one thing that I can say is that (at least) mom's caregivers genuinely do care for her and her well being. They take their job seriously and responsibly. They assure that (well they have shown that) mom's support team will have her covered at all times. Recently mom (w/dementia) went to the hospital for surgery. I had asked that they continue support for her in the hospital and all went without a hitch. Mom is now back at home and recovering nicely. After vetting a couple of other vendors, we went with Mae Morgan as they were quick to answer our phone call even at 10 pm on Memorial weekend! Nice job! We were assigned two 24 hour care workers, Michelle and Cynthia. Both were so caring, were well trained and were very respectful and friendly. They both were working under stressful conditions with a house full of relatives and my Father in dire straits. They handled my Dad with great care and respect and he passed away with no pain and with professional care provided by both Michelle & Cynthia. I can only say it was very satisfying having them there to help my Dad. They both did everything leaving our family the ability to spend quality time with Dad. I can only say if I have a need for 24 hour care, or if someone would ask for a recommendation, I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. Additionally, they work with Torrance Memorial Hospice providers, making any transitions so smooth. Working with Brenda, administrator for MM, was simply wonderful. Used Mae Morgan Agency for 24 hour care my father who was also in hospice care. Sadly, he passed away after being home from the hospital only 3 days. That being said, the 3 different individuals we had from Mae Morgan were all professional and very caring for both my father and mother. I would recommend Mae Morgan, especially with hospice care, as the hospice workers only visit the house periodically and neither my mother or I were not prepared to meet all of my father's needs 24 hours. The only negative was that the caregivers flushed the baby wipes they had requested we purchase (along with a few paper towels). Unfortunately, this caused a plumping problem after the fact -- however, Mae Morgan covered all of the costs of the repair. I would recommend using Mae Morgan. read more

I only worked 1 month with them and they've only paid me the 3 days worth of work. Worse, you have to do their job, they'll ask you to get the check from the client then tell you have to wait for 5 days. Its been freaking month they still owe me money. Mae Morgan sent us a wonderful caregiver (Almira Panis). We stopped using Mae Morgan only because my mother moved to Assisted Living in a different part of California. Mae Morgan was very cooperative with the Long Term Care insurance (CNA GLTC) which was incredibly difficult to deal with. At first I thought MM was not giving them the correct papers, so I was complaining a lot to Brenda, but later I discovered that CNA was ignoring faxes that MM had properly sent, and received acknowledgement of receipt. I guess your experience will depend on the individual caregiver that you get. And I've heard they often have issues with elderly who have prejudices against people of color; fortunately I did not have to deal with those issues at all. read more

Brenda advised us and arranged on very short notice to have Nicole cover the night shift relieving our family during a critical time. They are both very caring and went above and beyond our expectations. Nicole provided an attention to detail and care we had not experienced over many providers. She did much more than she would be required to do or that others did. She payed so close attention to the patients vital signs she picked up on the very subtle changes that precede death in time so our family could be present for which we will be forever grateful. We used helpers from Mae Morgan to care for my father-in-law in his home during the last few days of his life. He died of pancreatic cancer. We had hospice care as well, but they only provide various professionals that visit a few times per week not 24 hour care. We had two helpers that worked 12 hour shifts each, so we only had a total of 2 for the 4 days we needed them. It was nice to have the same faces each time instead of someone new every day. Both helpers were professional and knowledgeable and willing to do whatever it took to keep him well cared for. It was a huge relief to have someone to do a lot of the actual lifting before he became confined to bed and to have someone to do various tasks like moving him, grooming, assisting with meds, etc. We started a notebook to record all the treatment, condition, observations, etc and both helpers quickly got up to speed and filled out the notebook regularly. They were on time and were easy to have in the house with us for long hours. read more

My dad was a very private self reliant man who did not accept help easily but these caregivers were able to connect with him and assist him in a way that did not make him feel bad . I really appreciate everything they did for him. The caregivers tried to honor his wishes ( getting him out of bed) even in his final days when he basically unable to move without total support. They also made it easier for our family to help my dad in his final days giving us time to rest knowing he was in good hands.
