I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Uptown Cheapskate. I came in hoping to…read moreresolve an issue involving a bag that was donated without my consent, and instead I encountered one of the most unprofessional and unpleasant interactions I've ever had with store management. The manager on duty, Leslie De La Cruz, was shockingly rude, dismissive, and made absolutely no effort to understand or address my situation. The bag in question wasn't just any item it was a meaningful gift from a cherished friend, and it was donated without my approval. I approached the store calmly, simply looking for a reasonable resolution. Instead of listening or offering even a hint of assistance, Leslie repeatedly shut me down, showed no empathy for my discomfort, and acted as if my concerns were an inconvenience. All I asked for was a basic form of compensation, such as a refund or a gift card equal to the value of the donated bag. This was a fair and respectful request given the circumstances, yet the manager chose to offer nothing not even a sincere apology. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, not only because of the loss of a sentimental item, but because of the unacceptable treatment I received from someone who is supposed to represent the store's values. Customers deserve respect, understanding, and professionalism, none of which were shown to me during this interaction. I truly hope Uptown Cheapskate addresses this issue, because no one should have to go through what I did just to seek a simple and reasonable resolution.

There was plenty of parking at this location and the signs don't lie, they have so much Halloween stock! This location is super organized and everything was sorted onto hangers and shelves. Small bits were sorted and grouped into plastic bags and hung nicely on the boarding walls. It was great for being able to peruse without having to dig through anything. I found that some items were quite pricey in the clothing departments but I got some houseware linens for a great price so its good to be thourough in order to find the best pricing.

The manager took the receipt and all the items out of the bag and quickly realized I was right. After a full refund they tried to ring al the items up correctly and then realized the number did not add up. They called not one but two more managers over to the counter and after much discussions and about an hour of their time...made things right! I appreciate honest management. Buyer beware thought. Misty is working there and she Definitely has her medical marijuana card!! She was asked TWICE during my transaction if the fifty percent was being applied and continued to ignore me!! She is about 5'7 red hair and is eager to rip you off!

Nobody there is on a power trip lol You can do everything from sorting donations to hanging clothes to sweeping floors. For shopping it's kinda meh. I grew up thrift shopping and I feel this place is kind of expensive.. have yet to find any steals. It's laid out and labeled very well. Nice selection of women's clothing. There is an ok selection of men's, children's clothes. Ok selection for shoes. Also an ok selection for furniture. They do have a $1 section so that's nice. I will say if you are In need, they will take care of you. A woman came in with 7 kids and found clothes for EACH of them. 20 pieces each!!! Their philanthropy is wonderful. Just remember you're shopping and/or volunteering for a great cause! Definitely worth a stop.

I'm a curious gal, so I hopped on over and what I found was the most delightful, treasure-filled adventure I could've asked for! I love the thrill of the hunt (even though sometimes I don't even know what it is I'm looking for!)...and if you can't get enough of old stuff, vintage stuff, funky stuff, rusty stuff...this is your mecca! Located in a huge old warehouse, and only open the first weekend of every month, you will find what you were looking for and more! The building itself has such charm, how could it not hold such wonderful curiosities within? I've visited Cool Stuff Vintage a few times now. The contents are constantly changing, but always something you just have to have! How do these people know? I think its because they are collectors themselves. Just a sampling of what I saw during my last trip this month...60's/70's lunchboxes...a small cardboard doll house w/tiny plastic people & furnishings, maybe from the 50's...vintage fabric galore...a huge heavy outdoor bar set I would give my eye teeth for if I had could afford it and had a place to put it! Cool vintage Tupperware...Elvis posters...not to mention some colorful groovy plastic 70's chairs...good ol rusty valves and antique doorknobs...lovely real leather messenger bags, used just enough for that "broken in" feeling and look...I could go on and on! Check out the Facebook page, Cool Stuff Vintage, for hours and more info. They also buy & consign. If wandering through cool old buildings looking for things you didn't even know you needed sounds like a good time to you, you should go!
