One of Frisco's jewels, I love the convenient location. Dena's always done a fantastic job at keeping my hair looking good.

I have to say, I have been to MANY Salons in my life but NOT ONE of them could compete with Dena's abilities!!

Jessica the owner is great at doing extensions! Know that the hair was very expensive but great…read morequality, The only thing is that some of the hair was way too blonde so I could not pull it up ever. That was a bummer.

Response to owner's reply: Your response only further proves…read morethe lack of professionalism and accountability I experienced. Saying "sorry" multiple times does not fix the fact that your team was inconsiderate and dismissive. I was explicitly told I could either wait AT LEAST 30 MINUTES or reschedule -- which, in other words, means leave. There was no genuine effort to respect the fact that I arrived on time, made a clear effort to be there, and arranged childcare -- which comes at a cost. Let's be honest: would a simple "sorry" from me be enough if I showed up 30 minutes late? Would I be let off the hook if I canceled under 24 hours and just said "there was a miscommunication"? Absolutely not. So why does your business expect different standards when the inconvenience is on your side? Instead of taking ownership and offering a fair solution, your response comes off as defensive, dismissive, and frankly, childish. Saying that "nothing would've been enough for me" is a weak excuse and a clear attempt to deflect responsibility. What would have been enough? A sincere effort to fix the situation, not a passive apology. This whole experience -- and your response -- reflects poor management, a lack of customer care, and a complete failure in how to run a responsible business. INITIAL REVIEW: Unprofessional and Disrespectful Service! This salon charges clients 100% of the service fee if you're late or miss an appointment -- but when they're the ones causing the delay, they offer nothing in return. I had an appointment with Kaylin and arrived on time. At the front desk, I was told she was running over 30 minutes behind. No one contacted me beforehand. When I asked if someone else could take me, they said no one was available. I explained that this delay was costing me both time and money -- I had arranged and paid for a babysitter. Their only response was that there was a "miscommunication." No apology. No compensation. No effort to resolve the issue. I was simply told to either wait or leave. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They held no accountability and showed no respect for my time. If the situation were reversed, I would've been charged in full. This one-sided treatment is unacceptable. Be cautious -- this place does not value clients, and they will not take responsibility when they're at fault.

I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Blo Dry Bar to anyone looking for a beautiful, long-lasting blowout and a great overall experience!

EDIT: The business…read moreresponded to my Google review and I'm even more infuriated as their response, solidifies that their textured hair clients do not recieve the same privileges as the others, simply because of our hair type. Additionally, I was fully prepared to go someplace else to get a trim because I was informed before sitting down that they do not offer trims and was completely okay with that. Even more: THIS IS A **FRISCO** SPECIFIC ISSUE! I've had my hair done at a different location, in Allen and never encountered the issues I experienced today. One of the stylist even told me that the FRISCO location is owned by someone separate from the Allen location and that the Frisco owner rarely shows her face because of issues like these. Over charging black people due to their hair types and not being transparent about it during scheduling and I'm sure much more! **Original post: There's so much I can say, but this place is NOT for Black women with 4C hair. I'm so disappointed and disgusted with the treatment and fees that I received. Not one, but THREE different stylists touched my hair, and I left without my hair even being completed. No curls, no trim (they don't offer trims), and only a wash, conditioner, and blow dry--yet I was charged $175. The excuse was that the front desk person who was supposed to confirm the booking correctly was on her first day. I feel so discriminated against because of the texture of my hair and the lack of transparency when scheduling appointments for women of color. The entire experience felt so isolating and off-putting--even from the one Black stylist, Alycia, who defended the larger systemic issue at hand. She even had the audacity to tell me that Pressed Roots does trims. SMH. How dare you?! My response was, Why should I have to drive an hour away when this establishment clearly displays women of color working there and plastered all over the walls? My understanding is that if you are displaying women of color in your advertisements, then you should be able to accommodate us--without extra red tape or discrimination because of our hair texture. Shae was amazing, and so was Antony, and it's not their fault. Alycia finished my hair, and I truly thank her, but girl, the next time a consumer is expressing their concerns, don't become defensive and ask why, because after talking to you, YOU KNOW WHY. You literally said you only go to places where you are welcomed! It's a systemic issue with these establishments that claim to offer services to all, but they clearly don't. I'm so sick of it. --Tired, isolated, Black woman with 4c hair
