I always feel valued and cared for here, and I have been a patient for over nine years. I have had several serious medical conditions that have impacted my life--from being diagnosed with diabetes to undergoing open-hand surgery for Dupuytren's Contracture. Dr. Fine has always attended to these and every other medical concern with the best care possible. Dr. Andy Fine is what I would refer to as a no-nonsense doctor, which aligns with the fact that he is an accredited Physician Educator at the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz School of Medicine. Dr. Fine should not be practicing patient care. I'm sure he's competent, but his personality and bedside manner does not reflect competence. I used to see his physician assistant. She quit a year ago and I was forced to see Dr. Fine. In THREE separate visits to address chronic insomnia, he spent a total of less then 10 minutes with me. He never made eye contact and never laid a hand on me to examine me. He only asked, "How are you sleeping?" and then prescribed yet another medication. Dr. Fine is a good doc but I have had three instances when calling in and speaking to the receptionists. It always seems to be a woman whose name starts with a J that gives me problems. I called yesterday to ask for an Rx refill. I asked for a 90-day supply and for it to be called into a specific pharmacy. She told me that "The people in the back take care of that." I asked her to please pass on the information and she repeated what she had just said in a snarky tone and thanked me for calling. She was dismissive. Just had a call with Jennifer, front desk, I was looking for test results. She chewed me out and exclaimed Andy Fine didn't work on Fridays! I indicated I was unaware of that fact and felt my needs were being overlooked, because no one had called me the day before with the results. She became irritated and stated Andy Fine had always been off on Fridays and She would make a TeleHealth appointment for me next week to get my results. I've been going to this practice for about 18 months. Have mostly seen the PA Alison Lenz, who is great. Today she was not available for my appt so I had to see Dr Fine. I have never been treated so rudely by a family doctor before. His kind of rudeness is usually associated with surgeons. Why would a doctor with no interpersonal skills run a family medicine practice? No eye contact, frowning and waving his hand in dismissal of my concerns. Would not listen to me. Also lectured me in a really stern way about the importance of keeping a list of prescriptions with me at all times. I know that! Such a cold uncaring demeanor. Not only was he rude to me, he also insulted his staff, saying they don't get the correct information, when the nurse was awesome and thorough. I was so mad when I left! read more

Very poor bedside manner. For a new patient, Dr. Fine spent a total of five minutes and ordered what he thought were appropriate tests without making eye contact or asking my father (the patient) whether he had any questions. I am writing this review to warn patients that this office does not properly store and will not provide your records when asking for them. I have been trying to get my records from them for over a year now. They have changed office managers several times. I have been told the paper copies are in the basement and they are in the process of finding mine. I have left messages with a person named Tina several times who told me that she would find my records. I was told last week that she is no longer at the office. I have left messages with a person named Brittney several times who never returns my calls. Based on the law medical records are to be kept for 7 years. I have now contacted the medical board and I am contacting an attorney to handle this problem for me. I have never experienced such incompetence anywhere. read more

OMG, I am still having nightmares over this rude man. At first, he was great, put me on BP meds and we were good. After going to him for years - 1 day Walgreens called me on Friday and said I needed to contact my doctor because the med he prescribed would cause liver damage. On Monday Dr. Fined called me and was very rude like I was the one to make the mistake. Then he said if I missed another appointment he was going to charge me. I told him I hadn't missed any appointments, and if he could show me where I did miss an appointment that I would pay him - he changed the subject. Then out of the blue, he said my husband called him and was very rude to him - he had me confused with someone else because my husband never called nor had a reason to call him. He was really upset, and we got into a shouting match, and I hung up because it triggered my anxiety. He called me right back and was still screaming at me, so I just hung up again. I was shaking so badly. I called his receptionist to ask which appointment I had missed, and if I had missed one, I would pay. She didn't see any missed appt. She then tells me that she will fill my meds for 6 months, but in the meantime, I should look for another doctor. She said I didn't do anything wrong and that Dr. Fine was losing a lot of patients because of his personality. To this day, I still don't know why he behaved the way he did. read more

He is the most unhelpful, rude and confused Dr I have ever went to in my life. I went in for extreme pain in my back and leg that is associated with my sciatic nerve problem. What did Andy fine do? He wanted me take STD test and a covid test! are you freaking serious? I have been a patient of andy fine since 2004ish. I don't expect much, I just want a doctor I can make appointments to same day if needed, and yearly checkups. As other reviewers have said, the waiting room is kind of tiny and usually very packed. I've noticed if you get a time before 830am, you get in very quick. Obviously clients needing more time, and other things start to push wait times longer as the day goes on. I've noticed patients coming here can be really rude and impatient. I've been with Dr. Fine even when his office literally had 5 chairs and waiting room had lines out the door, so the newer office is awesome. Dr. Fine is straight to the point. Very short with words, which can be a turn off, but his office is so busy he has to turn patients in and out. I do wish their was more of a personal touch, but I get everything I need out of a doctor, and honestly being in and out within 10 minutes sometimes is refreshing. Technically I'm considered a millennial, so I like things quick. But completely understand the "older" generations that want a doctor they feel "knows" them and their personal life. a few years ago my husband went into his office to see him about a very painful problem ,what seemed to be an infection that went to his blood stream on his leg, he came home with nothing resolved about his leg and a prescription for anti depression and anxiety medicine. I asked him what he said about his leg and he told me that he looked at his leg for less then 5 minutes, DIDNT EVEN CHECK HIS VITALS and said it looked like you cut yourself on a rose bush. My husband continued to. Express the severity or his pain and concern and the Dr., completely ignored him and told him he seems depressed and over concerned about his leg, and thinks he should try some medication. And about 2 days later my husband was In the emergency room for almost a week while they were trying to get him stable enough to go home . He had to get skin graphs , all sorts of things because it was a very serious infection and was about a few hours away from spreading to his blood stream and killing him . And the nurses and doctors and the hospital said that if he would've gone in sooner, he probably could left with a few antibiotics. So basically this doctor is judgemental and doesn't take his patients seriously at all. We had a very sour experience with him . I don't recommend him at all. But the rest of the office is fantastic!! read more

Good MD, but way too busy, useless billing system, and worthless staff: billing more than a month behind, staff doesn't return calls, automated confirmation system nor voicemail doesn't recognize cancellation in the week before an appoint and office staff lies when they say there will NOT be a no-show billing (showed up 40 days later). This is a great way to kill a decent medical practice. Find another doc (which I did, of course). read more

I went to the doctors office in 2015. The whole year I went I was telling him something was wrong. That I had shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle pain, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and the headache from hell. He always kept trying to prescribe me meds telling me I was having a nervous break down. My last visit to this man was him telling me he was going to admit me for this reason. I left his office, went over to the emergency room and low and behold I had Graves Disease. Severe graves. Like could barely walk, talk or breath graves. Now four years later I have to explain to the school my medical issues from that year so I can continue with school. I go to pick up the basic med report for my first visit, last visit in March and the visit on the same day the hospital figured out what he couldn't in 10 months. I find all the notes are lies and he recorded nothing but his opinion on what was wrong with me. Stated all the symptoms I was having I denied having. Marked my chart up as depressed.. UNREAL.. What a quack.. I new I should have filled a grievance when the hospital figured out what was wrong with me. read more

Like others that have reviewed Dr. Fine, I was charged for a variety of services I didn't ask for and was surprised to see them on my bill. Overall, he was very brief, not at all personable, and very liberal on what he billed me for. I didn't get the warm fuzzy he was at all interested in my good health or me as an individual. Although I am sure he is a very qualified Doctor, his practice leaves much to be desired. It took me 2 visits to figure out he wasn't the doctor for me. This is the most ghetto, unprofessional doctor's office I have ever been to. I've tried to give them multiple chances, and they continue to disappoint. If looking for a new doctor, please run far away from here. Do yourself a favor and find a professional practice. This place only cares about making you new appointments only for the sake of charging insurance. I came to this office post op from a surgery. I was seen by a nurse practitioner because Dr. Fine was unavailable. She prescribed me Lidocaine patches, which was rejected by insurance. I called Adam at Colorado Primary Health Care to get to the bottom of it. He said he would and would call me back. 3 days pass and I hear nothing. I call him back and leave him a message. 2 days pass and he never calls me back. I call him a 3rd time, and he apologized and said he would figure it out and call me back. Yet again, 3 days pass and nothing. In the meantime, I developed a respiratory issue that Dr. Fine said was very concerning and sent me to X-ray. Dr. Fine made it sound extremely worrisome. The X-ray clinic said someone would call me within a day or two to discuss the results. No one called. I called Paul, the office manager, to discuss not only the missing follow up from Adam, but also the fact no one is following up with me regarding my worrisome x-ray. Paul never once apologized or offered empathy, he only defended his office and said my x-ray is fine. (how can you defend not returning a patients calls for 2 weeks??) Paul confirmed I had a follow up appointment with another NP named Phillip the next day about my respiratory issue, and we could talk then. The next day (1 hour before my appointment mind you!!), Adam left me a message that I couldn't be seen because Jen the nurse practitioner that was going to see me, had to leave. I called and spoke to Paul again, to question what Jen had to do with this. Paul said he never mentioned Phillip the day before, and he can't control when people leave the office. So here I am, with NO information regarding my prescription, NO information regarding my x-ray, NO follow up regarding my respiratory issue, and NO apology. This Dr's office is a joke. I am a Colorado native and used to have the best doctor on the planet before he passed away (RIP Dr. Atkinson). Please stay away from Dr. Fine's office. The whole practice is run like the Keystone Cops without anyone knowing what's going on. It's the most ghetto physician's office I've ever seen. They need to fire the entire staff and start over. Maureen and Paula are incredible!!! I am so blessed to have them on my care team. I know I'm in exceptional hands with those 2! Maureen and Paula has/is the perfect souls for my care team!! I'm not the easiest patient haha. They have changed my life for the better! They are so calm, patient oriented, they know how to click, and build trust with the patients that are in their care. I am a very inquisitive soul, both of these compassionate women humor my curiosity without complaining- they always come across as excited about what I ask, followed with a smile. My first appointment with these ladies has left a quite an imprint on me/life. They were building rapport with me straight away. I felt safe, HEARD, they weren't rushing, they took time for me and cared for me. One massive thing for me is my whole life I have always made to feel ashamed and like a hypochondriac (since I was a small child). NEVER once have they, or the staff, make me feel that way. As our first appointment would come to a close, and the handful after, Maureen would look at me whole heartedly and say (paraphrased), " we are going to figure this out, we are going to get you feeling better". 6 months after starting here they would both tell me how far I've come, which was really encouraging. I feel have a unique patient/provider relationship (they are so good they are more than likely the same way with all their patients) I have connected with them on different parts of my over all health. When I leave my appointments with them I leave with a smile, sometimes laughing to myself, and in a good mood. When im there I feel like I'm with my friends and family haha!! I can never thank them enough for what they have done for and my family. I learned about Dr. Andy Fine from a family member who recommended his clinic. The clinic is very busy, yet the staff there is always extremely professional. The clinic practice is growing by leaps and bounds, but everyone seems to handle all the patients with real care and understanding. There were some people in the waiting room complaining about the long wait time on one of my visits to the clinic, and the staff treated them politely - they could have lost their temper at these rude patients, but they didn't. They are always nice and treat everyone with respect. Money is tight in my household since my wife and I lost our jobs, and we were concerned about our health care. Dr. Fine and his clinic were more than happy to help, and we thank him for providing such wonderful service to the community. read more

Found Dr. Fine online after my Dr. of 9 years changed locations & became a Concierge Dr. Completed all questions on zocdoc, and then was asked all of those generic questions all over again, resulting in an extra fee of $60 for psychological assessment. Seriously? Pd that & the only psychological assessment was the questionnaire. Next visit was with a PA whom I thought was really nice, but told me many of her personal problems and started crying. I left & paid my co-pay with no resolution to MY problem. Then....another bill arrived with confusing language, but I paid it ($30 or so). Went to another Dr., who was able to diagnose my problem & get it regulated. NOW.....another bill ($60) out of nowhere, for mental health evaluation & tobacco use discussion. WHAT? That Never Happened & I don't use tobacco or have mental health issues! Called my ins. co., and they said their practice does this stuff often. A month later, I have a past due notice & repeated phone calls. Not sure what to do. I finally have the composure to call them & insist that they bill me for the correct services (for which I and my insurance co. already paid), or stop billing me for fabricated services. read more

I found Andy Fine's office through Zoc Doc. Pros: Easy to schedule Short wait Did everything I requested* Friendly staff The doctor (who I don't think was Andy Fine - he said he was originally an Emergency Medicine doc - a different field with different residency and board certification) - had great bedside manners The PA or Nurse or someone - did an excellent PPD test for TB - correctly done, quick, and painless. Cons: I don't think saw Andy Fine - I'm pretty sure saw someone else? At least he was vastly different than his pic on here. His clinic uses a portal - which doesn't load the results ... or at least I cannot find it. Please note: I did not have a chance to evaluate his Physical Exam skills as I did not go in for that. Everything that was done was requested by me. He did note in my online chart that all my physical exams were normal - except none of it was actually performed - which is probably not great :/. I went knowing exactly what I needed and it was quick and painless (PPD, blood work, metabolic pannel, pap). He was professional and quick. He was respectful but did not stay long or do much chit chat - which is fine for me - I never expect or have any strong desires to form a personal bond with my doctors. He found me a place to get imagine done that was covered by my insurance. Overall: I don't know if I would recommend him to someone who doesn't know anything about medicine because he (whoever it was) only did what I requested. But if you have an exact problem you need to get checked up, he (whoever the doc was) was great. I intend to continue being their primary care patient/customers. This office is exactly what I want - quick and professional. Edit: So the last couple of visits, Dr. Fine was the one who examined me. Overall, I had a good impression of him and he seemed to cover all the grounds and addressed my problems. I have been seeing Dr. Fine for 8 months. Have yet to leave there feeling like anything less than a dollar sign. The staff members are, in general, rude, uncaring, and lazy. I needed life-sustaining meds that they forgot to call in. Left 20 messages over two weeks, updating them on when I would be out, therefore dead. They only called me back after I freaked out on a message and called DORA (licensing bureau). It still took another 2 weeks for them to get it right. When you visit, be ready to wait. Then, when Dr finally sees you, he rushes you out. Never had more than 5 minutes with him. He actually waved his hands, impatiently, at one point. Have a chronic back issue that comes up from time to time. Didn't subside this time. Diagnosis was "I don't know." No tests run. Been ongoing with debilitating pain for 6 months now. Had a terrible skin outbreak. He looked at it for a second and diagnosed it as "I don't know." No tests run. Every visit, I have to explain what has been happening all over again. It's like they don't even bother to take notes. And this cuts into my five minutes of alloted visit time. The diagnosis go-to is always "I don't know. Getting scripts called in is like pulling teeth. They have yet to get them called in. 8 months later and I'm still waiting for syringes, despite telling them every monthly visit as well as at least 1 call a week (voice mails, no return calls). While they are apparently too busy to do anything right, at least 3 of them managed to find the time to creep my Facebook page. Sorry, it's private. Final straw was today. Drove an hour to my scheduled appointment. After waiting about 10 minutes, I was called up. The PA I was to see wasn't in. "I guess you didn't get our call." Hard to do when you didn't make the call. I think I will send them a $35 missed appointment bill. If you care about your health and expect the same from your doctor, look elsewhere. The business model here is cram as many 5 min appts as you can for the easy insurance claims. Cash in on referral fees. And make sure your patients are only healthy enough to stay alive to make their next 5 minute appointment. read more

He is rude when you ask him a question and also seems stressed out all the time. Turn over seems high, as you never see same PA or assistant. Horrible!!! I'm very upset, I was going here for 4 plus years and finally found another dr. You will wait over an hour plus to be seen and then you will be told one thing and the other happens. Also, do not count on the back end people to do their jobs. Especially if on vacation, because our health apparently is as well! Waiting over a week plus to get records faxed over and am taking very important medicine that my new dr has been waiting on my records for. Also had a referral put in over a month ago and heard nothing! Went to my new dr. WITHIN a week I have an appointment. There is better health providers that have a better caring staff, do not waste your time on this practice. Your blood pressure, sanity and quality of life will suffer! Find another practice!!. Dr. Andy Fine treats like you are a burden in his office. This guy could not even look at me when speaking with me after visiting him three times (about 30 seconds each visit). Not sure what his deal is. His staff is not much better. They are also rude and pretentious, and I'm assuming this is because they work under him. Everytime I had an appointment I would wait for at least 30 minutes for Andy Fine to talk to me for 30 seconds and then he we send me off for blood test. My physical consisted of me putting on a gown and then Dr. Fine came in looked at his paperwork for about 15 seconds and then told me to put my clothes back on. What the fuck was the point of putting on a gown and how was that even remotely close to a physical. He did charge me full price for that physical also. I've heard of a substantial amount of racial discrimination in the medical field and I'm wondering if this is what I was experiencing. I'm not sure how other patients are treated here, but Dr. Andy Fine is a callus, feckless, robot with no concern for his patients well being. Well at least mine. I was just a dollar sign to him. I stand by it, but will just say that while Dr. Fine is an excellent doctor, his bedside manor could use some work to say the least. As well, his NP's and PA's that I've seen have also been good, although they lack the same interpersonal skills that in my view, are just as important as treatment and diagnosis.
