I also appreciate the wholistic approach the practice takes for healthcare. Chiropractic care is only one piece of the picture and they teach and practice all parts - massage, exercise and nutrition. I had sciatic nerve problem for 6 weeks now and have been using physical therapy for 5 weeks with very little, if any, benefit. After just one visit with Dr. Posner I'm already feeling MUCH better than I've felt for the past 5 weeks. I had been using a cane, but now find I no longer need it. Actually, it now kind of feels odd to be able to walk without limping or wincing in anticipation of pain along my calf, hamstring and thigh. Great feeling. I have been going to a chiropractor to relieve chronic neck and back pain for years - since I was in my 20s and it always consisted of 3 appointments a week for 5/10 min with those electromagnetic pads... you know the routine. With Dr. Paul, he spends 30 min or an hour on you depending on how much time he needs, and he works on you from head to toe. I used to have chronic neck and shoulder pain but I have not experienced that type of pain since seeing him. If I do have pain, I may see him once a year. he also pads his appts with 15 minutes of time in between just for free touch ups! I have sent every client, friend and family member to him. He is a miracle worker and I would gladly pay out of pocket for that kind of care, even with insurance. It's worth EVERY CENT- although you can absolutely submit to your insurance for reimbursement! My husband was on of the biggest skeptics when I first told him about Dr Paul. It took at least one or two years before he actually went bc I paid for the appt in advance. But after just one visit, he became Dr. Paul's biggest fan. I also brought a good friend who was dealing with chronic hip pain for at least a year or two after a fall. She was scared to go but after nagging her for a couple years, she finally went and Dr. Paul fixed her in one visit. Granted she is still scared to go to any chiropractor but I am sure if she felt bad, he would be the first person she thinks of. I feel we are so lucky to be in Alexandria and have access to him, but I know people travel in from all over to see him bc he really is the best. I can go on and on but I think you get the hint. I went in for a pinched nerve between my shoulder…read moreblades, but for reasons I still don't understand, he chose to aggressively adjust areas I never complained about: my neck, lower back, and hips. That should have been the first red flag. At the start of the session, he did something unusual; he rubbed CBD cream on my neck, which he hadn't done in previous visits. I now realize that likely masked the pain from what he did next. He adjusted my neck in a way that displaced a vertebra, which led to intense pain hours later. As if that weren't enough, he placed me on a shelf-like platform and repeatedly adjusted my hips, pressing down with force. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was straining to keep my posture aligned, causing tension throughout my body. When I finally relaxed, I noticed that my torso had twisted to the left unnaturally. Later that day, I took a warm bath and about five minutes in, the vertebra in my neck suddenly slipped back into place on its own. I instinctively twisted my knees to one direction, and my upper body and shoulder to the other; and my entire lower spine released with loud cracks, like twisted celery. It was alarming, but it confirmed something had been severely thrown out of alignment. The worst part is what happened last: he pressed the heel of his hand deep into my lower back and held it there for a sustained time. Since then, I've experienced ongoing shifting, discomfort, and instability in my lower vertebrae--issues I never had before that visit. It's clear to me that this wasn't just poor practice--it was reckless and unethical. He also pressured me to return monthly, which felt more about insurance billing than actual care. When I declined, it felt like the quality of his treatment changed--and not in a good way. I'm still dealing with the damage from that last session. Please, do yourself a favor and find a chiropractor who listens, respects your concerns, and operates with integrity. What happened to me should never happen to anyone else.
