Medicare states that all "original medicare patients" do not need a script for anything except lab work or imagery. Medicares website policy on PT states: Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) helps pay for medically necessary outpatient physical therapy. (Medical necessary means: Health care services or supplies needed to diagnose or treat an illness, injury, condition, disease, or its symptoms and that meet accepted standards of medicine.) The physical therapy centers "interpret" Medicare's statement as "only a doctor can deem it a necessity" & because PT clinics don't have "MD" credentials, you have to get evaluated by a physician outside their PT clinic for approval of PT prior to receiving treatment. I've received answers from several different customer service representatives at Medicare & their supervisors. They've stated that it's not a necessity to get a script when I: 1. Have an MRI diagnosis 2. Accomplished pre-op PT before Medicare surgery approval 3. Have the surgery approved by Medicare A physical therapist can do an evaluation after surgery & write notes to Medicare that PT is needed after my approved Medicare surgery per the "specific Medicare written guidelines". You cannot find where the necessity must be on a script from a doctor nor it has to be from a physician outside of the PT office. After an MRI diagnosis by a radiologist doctor, I had a July 2021 surgeon visit & an August 2021 physical therapist evaluation in which they both stated physical therapy is not how you treat my injury...only surgery can fix what I have... But yet the PT clinic booked PT appointments even though the injury was deemed "surgical repair only". The PT made my injury worst. Wouldn't you worry about not getting reimbursed for an injury physical therapy is clearly stated it won't help? Which means my Aug-Sep2021 physical therapy should have not been paid for by Medicare since PT was NOT "...medically necessary...". It seems as if interpretations should not include words not written. Clearly the Medicare words written does not state in what form to receive my diagnosis/injury. Which makes this companies assumptions unwarranted. But allegedly PT still has to be booked to "check a box" with Medicare because, Medicare won't pay for surgery unless you try PT 1st even if it's medically written that PT isn't medically necessary for my particular injury. So you're saying Medicare would risk injurying a patient further after 2 medical professionals tell them that PT will not only not make the injury better, but could further injure the patient? Regulations change periodically in any job & Medicare isn't any different. This office might want to keep abreast of how to write evaluations to ensure reimbursement. It just seems as if this company wants i.e. a surgeon to agree with a therapist prior to a therapist eval when Medicare only needs 1 statement from anywhere (MRI, lab work, post-op notes) diagnosing me & then have a therapist professional state how to proceed after the diagnosis.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for serious therapy. You're better off sitting at…read morehome watching TV than coming here. The way this place is run is a complete joke. The fist day we came, one of the therapists was trying to convince me NOT to come and observe. Later, I had realized why. It says "One-On-One" on the schedule, but it is nothing like that. The therapists literally walk around giving multiple patients exercises to do, leave and then come back for another. In between this time, they small talk amongst themselves about their personal lives. The therapists have exercises such as " the bike" and "corn husks" which involve no interaction from them. The majority of the sessions are spent doing these types of exercises. The therapists barely interact with the patient. I was not happy with the way this facility was run, especially for a stroke patient. Later our therapist kept warning us of an "if we don't get approved" for future sessions scenario. She tried to sell us a "gym membership" at their facility as a "backup plan" to being declined for PT. This was mentioned to us multiple times within the next few weeks. At this point I had an eerie feeling that were were about to be kicked out. The therapist all know how approval of insurance works and they deliberately wrote to the insurance company so that we would NOT get approved for future visits. Perhaps they'd rather do sessions with young athletes who only have minor injuries. This happened shortly after for OT as well. Also, the scheduling here is horrendous. There would always be gaps in-between approvals for additional visits. They cancelled multiple appointments on the same day of the appointment. Zero consistency. Strokes are a time sensitive recovery and this facility was a big waste of time.

Once inside, it's bright, colorful, and a cheerful staff member greets you. Unlike other Physical Therapy places, this one doesn't have a sterile clinical feel with lots of beds and plastic dividers sprawled around. Instead, it looks like a place designed for active people who are ready to exercise and stretch their way back to good health. I had an injury that caused major neck/back pain and pesky tension headaches. I exercised patience with this process since the progress is incremental... All of my visits and treatment occurred under the direction of Clinical Director Dr. Anane. He's a licensed chiropractor so clients receive functional rehab and chiropractic care in one place. This doctor has an excellent bedside manner and avails himself to any questions or concerns that you may have. Additionally, all of the functional rehab specialists (Paris, Mia, Migma) who I've worked with are competent and hold Kinesiology degrees. Thanks to the team I am well on my way to recovery. I've also been educated on the holistic and therapeutic benefits of chiropractic adjustments and additional exercises to enhance my current fitness routines. If you're ready to get aligned and/or restore strength and flexibility lost for whatever reason, give this place a try. I highly recommend it!
