Am I really the first?…read more My son sees Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Magdelena for OT and Speech. He used to see Jo Ann until the scheduling didn't work out. They have two locations: Annandale and McLean. We've been to both. The Annandale location is closer to us to drive to from Loudoun County, although I prefer the McLean location...because there are more things to do while waiting. Annandale not so much, you have to sit put. We've been very very happy with Skill Builders and my son gets excited to see his therapists each visit. I mean he runs happy from the car to the office and can't wait, especially for Ms. Lindsay for OT. We drive an hour each way from the next county over just to come here.

She advocates for all her clients and goes that extra mile to match your child with the perfect therapist. It always helps that she hires only the best therapists in Northern VA. Everyone at Skill Builders is amazing and we owe so much to the company and their therapists. Thank you for always being there for our family and helping all our children being their best selves! My children still talk about how they miss Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Fern! My daughter adores Ms. Katie and it's the best day of her week when she gets to go to Skill Builders. Literally dances her way into the office singing her " Im going to see Ms Katie" song! We love Cari and she really advocates for our children not only in the office but in our community of special needs children. You want a pro like Cari on your side and you see this is more than just a job for her. I would trust Cari with my life! Skill Builders has transformed my children and our family and I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for us!

The evaluation resulted in my daughter being a year behind with articulating words as she spoke. Debbie's recommendation was for my daughter to get speech therapy at a facility, as my daughter is a real 'wiggle worm'. Debbie recommended a place, but unfortunately my daughter's insurance denied the claim since she did not experience a trauma or birth defect, which caused her delayed speech. In the meantime, Debbie is working with my daughter every week in our home to provide therapy. She does such a FANTASTIC job with my 'wiggle worm' that my daughter gets excited when she knows Debbie is coming and when she arrives. My daughter's speech has definitely improved since Debbie started working with her. Her sentences are longer, she is clearer, and I understand more words when she talks. My daughter even says, "Ms. Debbie says do this or that..." I would definitely recommend Eat, Speak, Play!

After a dozen steroid injections, countless hours of PT, acupuncture, and chiropractic work I was…read moretold I would have chronic knee and hip pain for the rest of my life and would never walk comfortably again. At 25 years old and as an avid runner, I was not keen on this idea and was dissatisfied with a suggested opiate approach to my pain. I was recommended to see Dr. Stroud by a friend. Instantly, we connected. After hearing for years about pain mitigation and more shots and pills, it felt like ecstasy to have someone bring a can-do attitude and positive outlook to my pain. We did I believe 10 rolfing sessions together, it was not easy but Dr. Stroud worked hard while we were together and while apart (to get insurance to help pay for my sessions). She helped me change my posture, running style, and even the seat in my car to make sure I wouldn't be plagued by knee and hip pain. I am totally pain-free now, my "doctors" are miffed. Dr. Stroud changed my life. I log a minimum of ten thousand steps a day, run often, play sports, and lift weights. To think walking was supposedly going to be a lifelong struggle, I cannot thank Dr. Stroud and the Hand-N-Hand team enough. I'd pay double the price I paid to be as content as I am now with my body. I recommend them to anyone who has a nagging injury or isn't content with a life of pain.

Egads! Stay away from this place…read more The admin staff is so unorganized they can not keep up with an authorization document even 1 day. Yesterday I emailed a document they already had sent to them originally by OrthoNet and today an Admin person calls to cancel my last appointment covered by the emailed document. What the f***! Furthermore, the Admin staff sent an authorization request to OthoNet to approve more PT sessions for me BUT (big but) FAILED to send updated progress notes. The present authorization letters from OrthoNet clearly states, "When requesting additional visits, the physician or therapy provider will need to submit progress notes and current objective clinical data......" There is no room for for misinterpretation. The process is crystal clear. This should be a routine matter for the clinics admin staff. So, long story short, my approval for more PT session is listed as "PENDING" by Orthonet until they get the updated progress notes. I found this out by calling OrthoNet. Mind you, I asked the admin staff (I could call a name but won't), if they had provided all this information and was reassured that they had. Nope, it hasn't happen yet. Having a complete knee replaced comes with a lot of pain. Dealing with the Waldorf Clinic Admin staff is 2-3 times more painful. So, I repeat my previous advice. Stay away from this place. The PTs are good, some Excellent, but that is totally irrelevant if the admin staff is totally inept at handling the paperwork needed before you see a therapist. NOTE: OrthoNet administers the review of PT and OT for GEHA. So if your insurer is GEHA, OrthoNet acts on behalf of GEHA.

This location has therapists trained to a level I didn't think possible without driving to Baltimore or DC. As for the admin staff, they are responsive and know me by name. Drugs were never administered on time, and one had to be to eat properly. The food was never what the slip of paper said, with 2-3 items missing plus substitutions were common. (Obviously, they are telling Medicare and the state they serve what is on the slip.) I knew within an hour. The man sharing the room is sitting up in a blood pressure coma when we arrive and never has visitors so I help him cut his food and chat -- until the nurse tells me, "You cannot go inside his room! You are not family!" One example: The nurse brought in an opiod when Admissions was still there. (Later, Admissions tells me, "she was just showing you she had it" -- right, in a cup starting for the patient.) I said absolutely not, it is for severe pain only when Tylenol did not work (the Rx said for pain only). The next day I could not wake the patient until 4 PM. I insisted on seeing the records and they administered the opiod before I arrived. He got severe edema from the opiod and whatever else was poorly administered. I told the nurse, propped his feet, brought in a virgin pina colada (pineapple for bromelain, coconut, lime peel all good for edema), asked for the toilet to be emptied. He could barely move and was worse than in the hospital. The next morning, his toilet was never emptied, the pillow at his feet was missing, his edema was the same. I hit the alarm five times and waited over an hour asking for the help. No one showed but the alarm light in the hall was turned off each time. So I left to stand at the nursing desk waiting for the nurse in charge to acknowledge me. Finally: "my husband has severe edema in his legs, please help." "what do you expect me to do about it?" she says, glaring. I'm frightened. I rush back to the room and his head has no pillow. His feet are lowered and there is a pillow on top of his knees. His toilet still stinks. I call the case manager and rush the patient away as fast as possible.
