I've…read moreprobably been seeing him for 15 years or longer (I'm no spring chicken, by any means), and he embodies everything one could possibly want in a doctor: caring, knowledgable, inquisitive, attentive, patient...think of whatever positive attribute a physician can have. Dr. Yoss has seen me for physicals, potential heart/blood pressure issues, minor illnesses, physical ailments, etc., and he always takes the time to ask the right questions and to listen. Like others here have said, I've received phone calls on a number of occasions from Dr. Yoss to read me off the lab results of blood tests and other results from my physicals, and he even goes through the entire list of key results on my voicemail when I don't answer. Of course, he says to call back with any questions or concerns. The fact that I haven't lived in San Francisco for almost 15 years (I worked there for about 6-7 of those years), yet I'm still happy to drive the 45 minutes each way to his office and still refuse to find another PCP, tells you all you need to know about this fine doctor, and equally fine man! He's just an all-out great guy (salt of the earth, as others have said) who really seems to love what he does and cares about others. We're about the same age, so I just hope he stays in practice as long as I stay in commission!! Oh, and as for the reviews about the staff, etc. -- who cares?!! That's not his fault. They're human, and they're just fine. His medical assistant has been great to me over the years as well, going above and beyond just like he does.

This is sad how I went from being a huge advocate for Dr. Christopher Wong a few years ago to being…read moredisappointed. Dr. Christopher Wong used to always be happy and talkative when you would go in for an appointment. He used to give you time to understand what problems you're experiencing. He used to spend time with you and would try to wrap his mind around the problem. Now his demeanor has changed. The smiles are gone along with his welcoming attitude that he once had. He walks in the room now and won't acknowledge you when you say him to him. He'll ask what's wrong, check your pulse and breathing, and then send you off to a specialist or write you a prescription. He became everything that is wrong with the Healthcare system. Cram in appointments to bill more, push medication and get care onto someone else's hands. This is the problem with fee for service healthcare. There is no preventative medical care. His initial care years ago was the example of how Healthcare should be. That is the reason why I was happy to switch over to him when I did years ago because at the time he was one of the genuinely caring physicians who didn't push medication, who didn't refer you out without fully understanding what's going on with you. He was the doctor that cared. Where did that go? I know we as patients expect more knowing that doctors are peoole and they have families and a life outside of practicing medicine that can add more weight to also being a doctor and caring for patients, and I try to have empathy for that but it's been a few years now since he changed and that's why I decided it was best for me to find another doctor. I know you can do better Dr. Christopher Wong. Do it for your current and future patients and do it to be an improvement to our already messed up Healthcare system. Don't be a contributor to it.

I love the vintage chairs in his office! They're just a comforting touch. So, I went into Dr. Maeck's office because my regular GP, was unavailable and his assistant, though surface-level nice, is inefficient with getting my prescriptions refilled. Prescriptions that I need to keep my body alive. I also had a recent issue health-wise. When I explained my recent experiences with my other GP, Dr. Maeck didn't just listen he took action. He literally walked me over to his referral source so I could be seen ASAP. I'm incredibly grateful to Dr. Maeck for taking charge of my situation given what's occurred with my health to bring me to his office has happened two times too many. I need to sort out what's going on. I'm also in the medical field and care for people throughout my work day. It's so nice to genuinely feel taken care of.
