The portraits and the random signs..everything just makes you think of the history that this place has seen (over 300 years!) The pumpkin soup was great. The skin of the crispy pig was delicious, the rest of the meat was meh. The special, the deer, was very good, as was the slaw that came with it. Since we were such a large group, we ordered ahead and had several great options to choose from -- a smart move that made everything run smoothly. I had the salad with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Others in our group were equally happy with their meals, and the portions were generous all around. The beer was also excellent -- crisp, well-crafted, and a perfect match for the food and the setting. You can tell they take pride in their brewing. What really stood out, though, was the service and atmosphere. Despite the size of our group, the staff was efficient, friendly, and totally on top of things. And the interior? Absolutely gorgeous -- warm, historic, and full of character. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel like you're somewhere special. If you're in Heidelberg, Brauhaus - Kulturbrauerei is a must. Great food, great beer, and a great experience overall. I'd go back in a heartbeat! 5 stars! P.S. 24.09.2026, too many on here said I needed to give them a second chance, first meal was 22.09.2026…read more(**), so we did...DUMB! We went to the other side of the restaurant, to get away from any prejudice from the other night. We ordered a simple pork knuckle, but instead of mashed potatoes we wanted roasted. the order came, a pork "Shank" and mashed potatoes, 10 minutes later when we were able to flag down our waitress I asked her to look at our plate and tell me what's wrong? She immediately saw that the potatoes were wrong and took off to correct it. another 10 minutes later we got enough roasted potatoes for 6 people, served in a 2 quart bowl. My wife and I ate maybe 10 pieces, before we laid down our forks. The pork "Shank" was disappointing, anyone who has had a pork "Knuckle" will know what I mean. After dinner we ordered a Expresso Martini for her and a "Adios Mo-Fo", a play on a "Long Island Ice Tea" in 10 minutes the wife got hers, and by the time she finished it my AMF, still had not arrived. When we were finally able to flag down our waitress and asked for the check I informed her to make sure the AMF was NOT on the bill. She tried to make excuses but I shut her down and asked for the check, again. When it came I told her I wanted a receipt, got it and pocketed it, and we walked back to the hotel. In our room I looked at the receipt and threw it down and raised my hands in a "Field Goal", the wife was like, "WTF!" so I showed her the bill, the AMF was not listed but they charged us 5.50 euro's for the additional roasted potatoes. the 5.50 euros is going to be the payment for the next yelp they get from me. I hope the owner sees this and understands this is NOT a way to run a business, if you can't run it properly with the staff you have then hire more, or train the ones you have, better! Read review #1 on kitchen sanitation madness. Gordon R would have fired the whole crew and shut the place down for sanitation and cross contamination issues.
