a piece of pizza and a bowl of tomato sauce
Marvin L.

I had the best Italian food in town! The meat lover's calzone, veal parmigiana, and calamari were all terrific. I enjoyed it so much that this will be my go-to place for Italian food. The marinara sauce was the best I have ever had, and the complimentary bread was hot and baked to perfection. Our party of 25 people was seated in the outdoor area, which had heaters, and it turned out to be amazing. Everyone had a great time, and there were praises all around for the food, staff, and ambiance. The service was efficient and prompt. I would like to thank Jen for her excellent service. I highly recommend this place to all fellow Yelpers. Do check them out!

This long time locally owned Italian eatery is popular with locals for its good food, generous portions, good prices, quick service and multi seating options. The antipasta is HUGE and tasty. The combination platter has good portions of Italian favorites. Many people enjoy the pizza which is made fresh as ordered. The menu is extensive with much to choose from. I have never had any problems here with anything. It is just consistently good food served up fresh.

Yummy!! Andrea's is the best!!

The food was delicious. It was cooked to order and came out without delay. I try something different every time I come here and they never disappoint. Also the atmosphere is nice - not loud and chaotic.

Antipasto salad
Brianna J.

I love a good salad so in my quest to find one, I remembered this place because it's attached to the spa I go to. I've always wanted to try it out. So looking at pics I decided on the antipasto, a large. I called it in and when I went to pick up my order she handed me a heavy bag. I thought, this must be the wrong order, it's too heavy for a salad. So I got to my car and opened the container and boy oh boy! The container was filled to the MAX with salad. It must have weighed at least 2-3 lbs. I rushed home and dived right in. The Italian dressing was ok, could have had more flavor but I was happy regardless. A few days later I went back and ordered the same salad except with balsamic vinegar which didn't have a lot of oomph to me so instead I used my handy dandy Olive Garden dressing. I will continue to get this salad and just figure out the best dressing to order with it. This salad could be enough for 2 people, for $15.50 that's not bad.

I stopped by on a rainy day around 1PM, so it was super quiet (which I loved). Our waitress was a gem. She let us try a few wine options before we decided what we wanted to order. I ordered a glass of rosé and the Greek board, and both hit the spot. The rosé was crisp and refreshing, which was perfect for a humid day. I paired it with the Greek board, which had all the Mediterranean favorites. A generous amount of pita, olives, hummus, feta and grapes! I'm a sucker for a good Med plate. Whether you're looking to have a girls day, a casual date, find a new spot to work from, or just pop in for a light lunch and glass of wine, Tinto is the spot. I look forward to visiting the VB location!

The Sharpie Tattoo--with bacon, egg and maple--sounds a little crazy but absolutely works. We ate outside at a picnic table, and everyone helping us was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great casual vibe, good food and drinks, and a really fun little area to explore. Definitely one of our better finds in Newport News.

Circa 1918 is pure perfection and I can't believe I was honored enough to get a reservation there…read moreon a Saturday night! This restaurant is located on a little cute strip, filled with vintage looking shops. It's cozy on the outside and in the inside. The ambiance at night is giving romantic date night. It's a pretty tight space but it gives an intimate feel. I personally love that. I went here because one of my friends said that it is his favorite restaurant. He explained how their menu frequently changes and is chef-curated. He really hyped it up. And the experience I had here with friends really lived up to the hype!! Immediately waking up, the hostess greeted us with upbeat and high energy and she quickly seated us as well. The hostess also ended up being our waitress. She was very well-informed and knew the food and drinks like the back of her hand. I'm always impressed when waitstaff know what they're talking about because I've been in their shoes before. So I know the work it takes to get like that. We started with a house appetizer. I don't remember what it was exactly but it was all beautifully topped on a slice of naan. It really started off the night on a great note. Our appetizers were the charred octopus, beef gyoza, and the fried oysters. Our drinks were excellent craft cocktails that I don't remember the names of. But each one was gorgeous and delicious! Next up, we had the grilled asiago bread, bison meatloaf, pan seared duck breast, and the seared jumbo sea scallops. Goodness. Not a single disappointment in any of these dishes that I listed. Maybe one disappointment is that I couldn't have unlimited charred octopus and duck breast... LOL. I often get lost in thinking about the charred octopus here. It was crispy on the outside with the perfect amount of char, but yet it was soft and tender in the inside. I got my duck cooked at medium rare. The duck breast melted in my mouth. I didn't want the experience to end. Overall, this place is absolutely worth the hype and is all the rage. I'm 1000000% coming back here when I'm back in town again.

The food, as it should be is the star of the show. I ordered the Duck, which was the best duck I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Some places can over cook it in an attempt to get that crispy skin, but here it was cooked to perfection. The skin was crispy, meat flavorful and juicy, and not overly greasy. The sweet potato puree was excellent and elevated the meal. The drinks menu was really good. Our friends are Wine Connessiuers and we're impressed with the selection. Not a Connessiuer myself, though I do enjoy a nice red every now and then, our selection was really good. Circa 1918 is a bit of a trip for us, but I'm sure we will be back and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the Newport News area.

Well, it took a while, but they did not disappoint. We arrived there at 5 PM on the dot. My first question was, where is everybody? They explained that they just opened for dinner. We started with calamari that was so light and tender, was so wonderfully seasoned, that had the most wonderful dipping sauce-I could've had another order of it. They presented with the most fresh and tasty bread that was covered with cheese. Oh my gosh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it and then we ordered it and I wish I had taken pictures, but I did not two of their signature dishes. Mine included shrimp and scallops, and my sister's had seafood and sausage. They made the most delightful dinner salad and the freshest and lightest dressing you could ever taste. It was such clean food you tasted every single ingredient. The weight staff was polite and available -the ambience was absolutely beautiful. Before we left the place was full and I can understand why. The owner is delightful and I have to go back. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Italian food. We even had leftovers for lunch in the next day. They did not disappoint!

I'm not big into Italian food so maybe that's why. But just this Friday, a friend in a social group celebrated her birthday. So I decided to join in and finally check out this spot. Let's see how the night went, shall we? Our party had a reserved table up front by the check-in booth and the bar. Inside the decor is a bit dated, but everything was clean and tidy. Overall, it's not that big of a restaurant, but it can fit a decent crowd. After enjoying some salad and garlic bread, we were all ready to order. My meal was Pollo Marsala. Overall, the dish was good. I preferred slightly bigger chicken breasts, but what I had was good enough. The protein was cooked nicely and there was enough spaghetti to mix with the chicken and mushrooms. I also had some grated parmesean cheese which added some flavor to the dish. What a wonderful night for all of us. Table service, hospitality and good food. You couldn't have asked for anything more. Yours truly will be back soon :)
