We've had issues with boarding facilities in the past (check my reviews if interested) which left us hesitant to booking, especially considering the expense that comes with larger breed considerations. However, not only does TCC have better care, facilities, and customer service; they are also easier on the checkbook. Teddy definitely has a home away from home in TCC, and even though our new move puts us another 15 minutes out, we wouldn't go anywhere else!

I love Little Friends Pet Sitting & Dog Walking…read more I went out of town for Memorial Day weekend and had Devin come into my apartment to take of my cat Mia. Because I am a total helicopter mom. I had left instructions of how much to feed her, vet name and number, emergency vet number, etc. , etc. And this is after Devin came into my apartment and I had gone over everything with her! Devin texted me, took pictures and gave me a detailed description of how Mia was doing when I was gone. She cleaned her kitty litter, tried to play with her and even gave her treats! Mia hid from her but by the second day she actually came out of her hiding place. When Devin texted me that, it made me so happy! I did not worry at all about how Mia was doing by being alone because I knew that she was in good hands. I really enjoyed myself without having to be stressed out! It was so wonderful. I will definitely be using them again!

We have never been charged that, didn't get told that even though our pickup was SCHEDULED for after noon and then didn't hear anyone in the lobby get charged that for the additional 20 minutes we had to wait for our dog while he got his nails trimmed since they waited to start until we got there. We just finished a four-week board and train with Carson at The Dog Knowledge. Worth every penny!…read more Not going to lie - the first couple weeks were rough on us, not him. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.

This is the kind of review I almost don't want to write because I don't want others to find out how…read moreawesome Laurel Oak is. But, alas, I cannot be that greedy. And this place deserves the praise! We'd previously taken our dog to one of the many other boarding facilities in this area and always been disappointed in the fact that (1) he wouldn't get any exercise because he's not the kind of dog to play with other dogs, he's the kind of dog who wants to walk with humans and (2) he'd always come home smelling HORRIBLE, even if the other boarding places had claimed to have bathed him. Then we found Laurel Oak, and we haven't looked back! We love that our pup gets two walks a day here, plus hours and hours of supervised play time. We love the Facebook posts showing that he's doing okay and "making friends". ;) And we love that when they say he is getting a bath, we can actually tell that he got a bath! This place is not really convenient to our home at all, but we keep going there again and again because we are so happy with the service and attention our dog gets. That alone is a testament to how great this place is.

She said they no longer use them after they had an incident regarding one, but they allow owners to bring their dogs in already wearing them. I asked about the wording of the waiver owners are required to sign, specifically asking if it had been revised so that it no longer required owners to legally consent to allowing the company to put bark collars on their dogs. She was evasive, stating she hadn't looked at the contract lately, wasn't sure if it had been revised, it was not going to be revised for the next few weeks at least, etc. I said, "Well, if you're not going to put bark collars on the dogs, then there is absolutely no reason why the company would need to keep that part in the contract, right?" She had no answer for that, other than saying "It's for owners who bring their dogs in with the bark collar already on, but we do not provide them." I said, "Well, how is it worded? Does it talk about the owner providing the bark collar, or does it require the owner to give consent for the company to put a bark collar on? Those are two very different things." She could not - or would not - answer that question. I asked her to get a copy of the contract, look at it, and read me the relevant part so we could just get clear on what the waiver actually stated. She said it was available online, but only after I signed up and signed in as a client and gave them all my information. I said, "You can't take 2 minutes to just read me the relevant part without making me go through all that?" She could not. She was busy; she had better things to do than provide minimal customer service on an important issue. Clearly, she had something to hide. My guess is that at this time the contract has not been revised and it still requires owners to legally consent to the company putting bark collars on their dogs. I'm not okay with that. I canceled my appointment. They didn't want my business enough to bother answering a simple yet important question, and I don't want to give my business to a company who requires owners to legally consent to authorizing the company to do what I view as torturing dogs, and tries to hide what they're doing. If you want humane, compassionate care for your furbaby with an above-board, honest and trustworthy company, look elsewhere. There are lots of better options.
