I had signed up for 5 two-hour lessons, and I asked to do the lessons every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning until the package was completed. For me, it helped to have the lessons scheduled closer together. The road test was then scheduled about a month after the lessons ended because of the the wait time at the RMV, so it gave me some time to also practice with my family before taking the road test. It worked out well, because I passed!

They also inflate their prices; Especially their road test option, in which they charge you as though they're doing a road test but they just hire an examiner from the RMV which you can do yourself for far less. They will show up at a time that doesn't match the schedule you picked, wait 5 minutes and then call to tell you they're leaving instead of communicating they're outside or. So if you would like to pay nearly 200 dollars per session for someone to scam you be their guest because they won't be refunding you no matter what mistakes they make. The first thing they'll do when they see this review is respond to it faster than they have ever responded to any emails their clients have sent them to make up random information like they have on other reviews because that's what bad businesses will do to keep scams going.

I'm not trying to criticize his technique as a whole, but I do want others to have a clear sense of what to expect. Booking a session was quick and easy, and I was able to get an appointment the very next day, which I really appreciated. I understand that driving instructors sometimes need to be curt and direct for safety reasons. However, I think the type of feedback also needs to match the situation and the student's experience level. For me, the lesson felt like an hour of being yelled at. I was constantly aware that I was doing something wrong, but not always what I had done wrong or how to fix it. My impression was that Lucien overestimated my prior driving experience. This could likely have been resolved by taking a few moments to pause, talk through what we were about to do, and ask whether I had done it before. When I asked questions, Lucien was willing to demonstrate, but many of his instructions weren't clear to me, and his tone made me feel as though I was being scolded, even if that wasn't his intention. If I made the same mistake multiple times, that suggested I didn't understand something, not that I wasn't trying. Instead, he seemed frustrated that I didn't get it immediately and would tell me I was doing it wrong without giving concrete, descriptive feedback about how to correct it. For example, when I was practicing turning, he would yell that I was doing it wrong and grab the wheel, which didn't help me understand what I needed to change. It would have been far more helpful to pull over, explain the steps clearly, and then practice on a quiet street where I could try again safely and independently. There were also times when I misunderstood his instructions (for instance, going into the leftmost lane instead of going to the leftmost lane that eventually turns right). His immediate response was to yell that I hadn't listened, rather than clarify what I had misunderstood. This approach felt infantilizing and made me upset and distracted, which wasn't conducive to learning. Pedagogically, it also didn't make much sense to me. I wasn't paying $70 an hour to ignore instructions; if I wasn't following them correctly, it meant something about the instructions wasn't clear. A more helpful response would have been to ask what part I had misunderstood and adjust the explanation so I could succeed next time. Overall, Lucien may be a good fit for students who thrive under very direct and high-pressure instruction, are very good at articulating the specific skills that they already have and are hoping to gain, and are better at interpreting his feedback. For others, his style may be stressful and difficult to learn from.

Despite Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 90, Section 10 clearly stating that foreign license holders can legally drive in the state for up to one year with a proper translation, the school rejected my application citing Appendix C from the RMV -- which only applies to license conversion, not to the legality of driving as a recent arrival. I have been in the U.S. for just 4 months, well within the 6-month window confirmed by the RMV for driving on a foreign license. I explained this to the school, but they were unwilling to acknowledge the legal difference. I found their approach dismissive and poorly informed of state law. It's unfortunate to see a driving school show such limited understanding of the legal framework they operate within. I do not recommend them to international drivers, especially those who meet all legal requirements but are treated as if they don't.

I was initially nervous when I saw that multiple instructors would be working with me. After I emailed them with my worry, they called very quickly to explain the benefit of learning from different instructors, something that ultimately helped me feel prepared for the road test since you never know which examiner you'll get. Every instructor I drove with was patient, professional, and clearly invested in both my safety and my success. As an adult learning to drive in this city, I can't recommend this school highly enough.

Inconsistent, Unprofessional, and Ultimately a Waste of Time & Money…read more I am writing this review on behalf of my father, a retired military Veteran from India, who just completed 7 lessons with Brookline Driving School. Unfortunately, his experience was overwhelmingly disappointing and I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Our primary issue was the complete lack of consistency between instructors. He had at least three different teachers, primarily switching between Ervin and Vitaly. While Ervin was patient and seemed to genuinely enjoy teaching, the same cannot be said for his counterpart. Vitaly was, frankly, obnoxious. He lacked basic respect for his students, was often loud and visibly frustrated, creating an environment where my father felt intimidated and unable to ask questions. If you don't have the patience for this job, why are you in it? To make matters worse, he made uncalled-for and stereotypical "jokes" about Indians being bad drivers, which was completely unprofessional and offensive. The biggest practical problem arose from this inconsistency. Ervin and Vitaly taught completely different techniques for parallel parking. One would say to do it one way, and the next lesson, the other would contradict it. This constant change in instruction confused my father daily and shattered his confidence. The culmination of this failure was on his road test. He failed specifically because of the parallel parking maneuver. The conflicting advice from his own instructors left him unsure of the correct method, leading to a critical error. I hold Brookline Driving School 100% responsible for this. We are cutting our losses and heeding our neighbors' recommendation to try Waltham Driving School instead. Save your time, your money, and your sanity--go somewhere else. This school is unorganized and employs instructors who are not aligned, with at least one who lacks the basic demeanor required to teach.

I'm going to be be the first one to call this place out on their false advertising! Driving school?…read moreHa! This place sells miracles! I have always been Terrified (with a capital T, mind you) of driving and got my permit a good five times before actually taking the plunge. Do that math. That's 10+ years! I researched driving schools in my area and happened upon QADS. I was skeptical because that's just my nature and my confidence was in the dumps, but I figured ONE LESSON WOULDN'T HURT ME. Hopefully. At least not too much. I'm so glad I did. My first time behind the wheel, Andrea was very patient with me and gave me tips. She was also very friendly and made me feel at ease, which was very important because let's not forget that Terrified bit. As I got more and more comfortable behind the wheel with both Andrea and Ray, my confidence level was given a boost. Then came the actual road test. Yeah, I figured that would come eventually. These instructors know the ins and outs of the road test and will prepare you to the best of their ability. Oh, and they're not shy to let you know whether you are ready or not. Why would you want to waste your money? You just have to trust them. I was soooo nervous the day of my test and Ray assured me I would be fine. The kicker was the car full of students just before me who had all failed (from another school, of course). I passed on the first try and was completely stunned, to tell you the truth. I never thought it would have been possible. Look, I got my license in December. It is now May. I suppose I waited to write the review just to make sure it would stick LOL. I am ever-grateful to QADS. I highly recommend them to anyone who is overly anxious and/or nervous. I would imagine they are a great resource for younger drivers as well. Their prices are very reasonable and staff are caring as all hell. Can I say that? Also, does anyone take lessons AFTER they've already gotten their license? I kinda just wanna hang out. :)

The school facilities received the information about the assault and proceeded to bring me into a group meeting with the harasser (massage instructor) and the rest of the victims which was very nerve-wrecking. Then they proceeded to do nothing with this information except tell students to have more than one person in the room when the teacher wants to teach something or when massaging the teacher. I went to the police to make a report but they said the instructor have the right to say no to an investigation but it would be more beneficial for me if the rest of the victims also shared their experiences in a report, but my most of my classmates were Thai without a green card, or in process if obtaining one and don't want problems, even though the police and I reassured them that it isn't a problem.
