They use the same power laser and it is literally torture (if you are AFAB I'm sure it didn't hurt at all). I had two sessions, cried after both, and thought I would have to give up on this. The pain was so intense I can't overstate it. I do have coarse hair (and a lot of it) so maybe if you don't have much facial hair, but still. They are clearly tuned to the finer hair of AFAB, which is fine, but I had no idea this level of pain isn't normal. Go to a place that *has* electrolysis, but don't actually get electrolysis to start (one I switched to is Sunswirl in darmouth) they are much more medical and actually understand different hair types. Not only was the prep work more throughout (making sure it's shaved close enough, cleaned, etc) but the pain was actually tolerable. They will actually respond to how painful it is for you, and adjust. Oh ya, the price is also insane. The other place I'm at is *less* *without* any discount (less than dermaenvy's 50% discount for gender care) and they do also have some discount for gender care on packages of 3+

EDIT - THEY DEFINITELY MADE IT RIGHT!…read more I would like to say how happy I am with how Gentle Touch made my below complaint, completely better! They offered me a full refund for the extra charge that I was not expecting to pay, and I am a very happy customer now! ........................................................................................... I had a gift card for a massage and manicure. When I walked in to book I handed the lady (can't remember her name) the gift card and said "I want to book this" so, she set up an appointment with me for a couple days later. I had asked if I could change / pay extra to have a pedicure instead of a manicure (because I find manicures just chip in a day or so anyway, and aren't worth it (the GC was a gift to me)) this change apparently wasn't possible. Ok, that was pretty annoying, but I wasn't that upset about it , free manicure, whatever. When I showed up for my appointment, all was well. I had the massage and it was wonderful. An hour long of very professional, great, relaxing service. The whole time I was thinking I would definitely be booking again for a massage. Loved it Kelsey was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed the massage. The manicure was great too, until I was escorted out as soon as it was done, not being able to sit and let it dry at all, so 3 of my nails smudged before I even got to my car. (They did gladly help me get out my wallet and gift card, which was nice). I figured, I knew a regular manicure was just going to chip anyway so whatever. Up until then, everything was fine, it was when I went to hand in my gift card that I became severely disappointed and upset. I was told that the gift card covered $92-something of the amount, and that I still owed $63.25 ! I said, "What? I don't understand, the gift card was for what I had booked?" to which I was told (and shown on the back) that the gift card was for a 30 minute massage (not the hour that I got), and a manicure... Ok... so clearly someone made a mistake. Yes, it was written on the back that it was for a 30 minute massage and manicure, but I had handed the gift card to the lady when I booked and said I wanted THIS booked. So, she, being the one working there, should have booked the service that was on the gift card. I didn't know what she booked in, she just gave me the date and time. She had looked it up apparently and told me the reason I couldn't change to a pedicure was because the gift card was bought on a deal, so obviously she should have booked for that specific deal , as in the 30 minute massage, and manicure, not for an hour instead?? I would like to hope that it was just an honest mistake, but I feel cheated and don't think it's fair that I had to pay an extra 60-something dollars for a service that should have been free and a relaxing, enjoyable experience that was a gift to me. I would have happily only had the 30 minute massage that the card was for, but I didn't realize that she booked me for an hour, nor was I paying attention to the time while I was in the relaxing massage setting. I don't appreciate the only response from the girl who was taking my gift card, when I expressed my shock and confusion, all she said was just "oh, sorry" and then expected my payment. I really did enjoy the massage and Kelsey, and I realize it was a mistake/miscommunication, but no effort was put into fixing it, and this all just changed my relaxed appointment, and left a bad taste in my mouth and I will probably never book there again unfortunately.

The lady who booked my appointment was very friendly and professional, so things got off to a good start from there. When I arrived for my appointment, I only had to wait a few minutes until I was escorted into the treatment room. I cannot recall the name of my esthetician, but she was a seasoned professional and it showed. The entire procedure - full face micro plus a calming masque - took about 30 minutes. Micro is an odd sensation but not painful. Application of the masque was very thorough and relaxing. When it was all said and done, my esthetician told me that Tuesdays are half off micro - naturally, they are kept very busy with this deal! I had a nice chat with the receptionist, who was a very pleasant lady, and left feeling happy with my experience. I may very well be back in the future for another treatment!

We wanted a manicure and pedicure done as a treat to ourselves but left disappointed. One friend decided on classic French gel nails while the other decided on French gel nails with black tips, while I just wanted gel nails with some polish over it (as I have no nails). Although the lady who did our nails was really nice, the only one that turned out well was my friend who got the regular French gel nails. The one who got the gel nails with black tips didn't get any tips, it was just gel nails with some black polish on the tips of it, it didn't look very good. My nails were by far the worst though. They weren't flat for some reason, and if you look at my finger from a side angle they look like I have some french gel nail bubble. My cuticles weren't pushed back and my gel nails also weren't on my whole nail. It looked like I had like 3 weeks of nail grow out leaving the place. At the last minute after hearing they do eyelash extensions my friend decided to get those while me and my other friend got a pedicure. Our pedicure consisted of a woman cutting our toe nails and putting nail polish on them. She didn't file anything at all. My friend got eye lash extensions which looked fantastic when she left, but they all fell out within a few days. It came to like $70 which would be good if the end result was a nice looking manicure and pedicure. We all concluded a few days later that we wish we said something about how much we hated our nails but a) we were afraid to look like bitches and b) the ladies who did our nails were so nice. Oh well, I'm saying it now on yelp. I will not be back.

I bought some sandals, non-toxic nail polish and nail polish remover. I booked an appointment and payed for it in advance for 25 dollars. I missed the appointment because I was too young to drive. My spending money was from babysitting money. I explained this to them at the desk maturely but they basically said frick you, you missed your appointment kid so we get your babysitting money and were very mean and rude about it. It's been more than 10 yrs and I still feel disgust when I drive by that place. It's beautiful on the inside of the spa despite being kind of ugly or at least plain on the outside, I like how they are into some eco-friendly stuff but if they treat vulnerable youth like this, who knows how they treat other vulnerable customers. Could be ripping off customers with dementia, disabilities etc. They have no sense of ethics as a business and it has a snobby and judgemental atmosphere that keeps you from fully relaxing, despite the otherwise lovely set-up with flowing water, nice lighting and whatnot. I was getting my eyebrows threaded there once and the woman who was doing them interjected and pointed out my cystic acne when that wasn't even what I was going to say. Then she started shilling Dermologica anti-acne products. I don't have cystic acne anymore because of Accutane, not because of anything OTC including overpriced brands like that that just have sal acid most of the time and are really nothing special. It's wrong to exploit people's insecurities like that to sell things. Going to a spa should be about relaxing and making you feel good.
