Had an awesome meal at Andiamo in Merriam Park! I got the Caprese sandwich, and it was super good -- really fresh with a nice kick of garlic flavor. The french fries were AMAZING, like perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. I also tried their Andiamo Ale, which was really good and went great with the food. I couldn't help myself and order an additional drink, the Jalapeno Mule. The flavor on that drink was there! not overpowering with either mango or jalapenos. The Ambiance is for a relax vibe; low ambient lights is the perfect pairing for italian restaurants. The staff was really friendly from the moment I walked in then when taking our orders. The manager was really cool; he kept checking in with us to ensure the service was great. I couldn't resist stealing a slice of my friend's cheese pizza, and wow -- it was delicious too! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The vibe was chill, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

My husband and I came in mid-day on a Saturday and it was nearly empty! For such a huge restaurant, it was fairly alarming. We ordered the bruschetta and fried calamari to start and then shared the lemon chicken. Our server was very quick to help us and even with tidying up the other tables and patrons, was able to get our dishes out to us very quickly. The calamari was good! A bit on the rubbery side but went well with the lemon aioli. I was surprised that the bruschetta wasn't already on the toasted bread and there also wasn't any olive oil or balsamic vinegar which made it very lackluster with very little flavor. It kind of gave me a sense of eat salsa on sourdough bread. We ordered the lemon chicken with fettuccini and white sauce as our side - the chicken was very juicy with really great lemon flavor. My husband and I ended up splitting the entree and they were kind enough to portion out the dish for us so we didn't have to butcher it in the process!

My wife and I decided to cheat on the green mill with this place. Now let me say, If you're a fan of "bang for buck" - I recommend Andiamo. 1st off, the decor is simple but classy - I expected the food to be more expensive than it was. The server was nice, helpful and efficient. I was surprised to get unlimited bread before the meal (automatic bang for buck) that I'd Rank above olive garden (softer bread). My wife ordered the stuffed seafood mushrooms with pesto sauce. She said it was the best she's ever tasted I ordered a Margherita pizza - which at 1st bite was good but nothing too special. But then....I added some of the oil/sauce that was at the table my pizza and BOOM! Delicious. Taking advantage of the lunch special, those two hearty and fulling meals (and a ice tea) came out to about $27. Bang for buck. I'd highly recommend

My husband and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was casually busy. Upon entering the establishment, the lighting makes the place warm and welcoming. The place was dimly lit, but you still have decent lighting at your table. They offer bar and table seating. I actually made a reservation online just in case. The place is casual. The staff are dressed in black. The staff members were friendly and approachable. FOOD: If you look at their website, all the asterisk next to the menu item is available as gluten-free. It didn't indicate that on their website, but it does on their menu at the restaurant. There is happy hour from 3pm-6pm and 9pm-close. They offer a lot of different choices from pasta, salad, pizza, and sandwiches. There was complimentary bread basket, which had garlic breadsticks and sliced baguette. No butter, but it doesn't need it. The breadsticks were warm. Even though that was delicious, my favorite was the bread. It was fluffy and not too dense. I had the Penne Al Forno, which I made the comment that it looks like pizza! (It was the pepperoni that spark that comment.) My husband ordered Tortelloni Alla Panna. Both dishes were delicious. Penne Al Forno is a hearty meat dish compare to Tortelloni Alla Panna. The broccoli in the Tortelloni Alla Panna was cooked al dente - just perfect. We also ordered the Cheesecake, which came with 2 spoons. It hazelnut on the cheesecake and raspberry sauce works with the dish to add that crunch/texture. Overall, we could come back for more. PARKING: There is free parking on site. Parking was full when we came at 6pm on Saturday. They do share the space with a few other businesses.

I've been to the Eagan location prior, but this was my first visit to the St. Paul location. I prefer this location. The waiter was very friendly and gave good suggestions. I had the cheeseburger with a side salad. My waiter recommended the house dressing. It was pretty darn good. The salad itself tasted a little earthy - not sure if the lettuce was washed thoroughly, but I'd skip that next time. The burger itself was great. My family really enjoyed their ravioli and lasagna dishes. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I happened upon this place one Sunday afternoon. There was no wait. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The music and decor was indicative of a touch of Italy. We ordered the margherita pizza and seafood stuffed mushrooms. It was phenomenal!

Andiamo is a great restaurant for date night or to catch up with friends. They are great at handling gluten free and have a lot of options. Gluten free food comes out with a sticker on the plate to make you feel safer. I got the special at the time Penne Calabrese with gluten free pasta and chicken, a limoncello spritz, creme brûlée, and gluten free bread. I loved the Penne Calabrese that has Calabrian pepper pesto, garlic, cream, basil, and parmesan . I hope they keep it on the menu! Service is always great here and they are great at answering any questions you may have.

A fan favorite from Woodbury and Eagan has now moved into Saint Paul serving Italian cuisine. Located in the old BWW space, this area needed something good and I'm very pleased on the decided selection. As this location is still getting up and running, they are working on the liquor license which should be completed very soon. I enjoy the transformation I'd the space and it feels very cozy. Hoping this is a great success for Andiamo as the food tastes just as good as the other locations. Enjoy!

For this meal, we were all especially pleased to see persimmon gracing the menu. This lovely winter fruit added bright color, texture, and flavor to the dishes that it was incorporated into (I highly recommend them). I had it in the second course, a lovely salad that also contained endive, pear, radish, pine nuts and a wonderful layer of creamy taleggio. It was unique and very delicious. For my third course, I ordered the masa dumplings, which I have had before. Spoiler: they were just as good this time. With a pleasing firm but tender texture, these wonderful little dumplings hit just right. The Calabrian chili in the sauce adds a pleasant rosy color and a bit of warmth without being spicy (it's totally safe for your most Minnesotan dining companions). As always, it was beautifully plated. For my next course, I ordered the toasted farro, which is delicious, hearty, and comforting. The chewy grains combine beautifully with the umami from the cheese and porcinis to make a wonderfully substantial flavor and feel. Underneath it all, a bright basil pistou adds a pop of color to remind you that even though it's winter, spring is just around the corner. This is just a perfect dish for a cold, dark winter night. For dessert, I tried something new: the cream cheese tart. I chose wisely: this was a lovely winter dessert that was somewhat reminiscent of cheesecake (but definitely better). It was just the right amount of richness and perfectly balanced by a delicious pear compote and a layer of balsamic vinaigrette. Absolutely perfect. As always, I appreciated the awesome selection of N/A beverages. (The paNOma? Still my favorite!)

I have been here two times in the last week and lemme tell ya.. this is quite the spot. I do suggest making a reservation because everytime I go here it is popping! What a vibey place, the lights aren't too bright, it gives a hip, fun, light energy and is not too pretentious but has INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DRINKS. Right now, one of their specials is whitefish toast.. if you enjoy fish at all, you need this. The fish is light and fresh, they put fresh dill on top and it is placed on top of some toasted sourdough bread perfectly. The fish is flavorful, a lil earthy and I feel as if there are capers or olives in in the fish mixture, whatever it is is fire! The burrata, beets, and citrus is a nice lovely, fresh, light app, the burrata is perfection with the beets and fresh, juicy citrus, drizzled with some oil and random pieces of garlic mixed in, YUM. I suggest ordering bread on the side with this one! The wings here are a staple and always delish. Crispy, hot, and coated perfectly in a light sweet chili sauce.. they hit the spot everytime. The housemade ranch is a perfect dipper. The other day I tried the chorizo and scallops... oh my goodness gracious.. it was a lil spicy and creamy with the bean puree and the scallops were buttery, light and divine! 10 outta 10 would do again. Finally, got the goat cheesecake, gluten free ginger snap crust with poached pears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want this now and in every lifetime! The cheesecake was light, yet decadent, deep, creamy with a light, unassuming flavor. The crust was delicious and the poached pears added that perfect fruit component. I got Liam as my server both times, he was helpful, attentive, had good suggestions when asked questions and didn't interrupt at all, amazing! This is the spot for any occasion!

We were pleasantly greeted and then seated. I noticed they'd completely redecorated the interior since my last visit, maybe 5-7 years ago. I thought it looks very nice inside now. I dig the wallpaper! We looked over the menu and placed our order. I think our server is someone who has worked there a long time because I recognized her face. A short while later a basket with slices of warm bread and pats of butter and plates were brought to the table. Soon after, our salads came out. The bread was soft and warm, with a salty top. The salad was made with fresh lettuce and a few halves of cherry tomato along with a *very* tart balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered the pasta Amatriciana and my companion ordered their Carbonara. Both meals were very tasty, and though I ate all of my pasta, there was a nice bit of sauce remaining in my bowl, so I asked for a bin for the leftover. During Covid, most restaurants had a time limit on how long a person could remain at a table. Carmelo's did the same, except they are still limiting the time diners can have a table and that is for 1 1/2 hours. If you like to eat and run, then fine, but many diners like to take some time for conversation and to have some wine maybe, and to savor their dinner, especially if they have put in a long week at work. However, at Carmelo's, they rush you and then kick you out if you're even one minute over your time limit!!! The ambience at Carmelo's is wonderful and the food good, except for my sister's dinner which was an undercooked chicken breast. The dinner had to be returned to the kitchen and was remade. However, that took so long, and she finally got her dinner 15 minutes before we were kicked out. My bread plate was taken right from under me and I was not allowed to finish my wine! Our server was very nice, but management was extremely rude and disrespectful. It was my sister's 84th birthday celebration and we were all over 70. It wasn't like we were drinking too much or being loud; we're just a bit slower. Shame on Carmelo's for their nasty behavior!
