This place is super cute - the interior being just what you'd picture for a little neighbourhood bistro. Unfortunately for me, the surroundings exceeded the food I had on my visit. I had the veggie galette from the breakfast menu and asked for it without mushrooms, so it was a little insubstantial fillings-wise (I thought they might have added extra of the other veggies). It was filled with cheese, spinach and tomato but was very bland and needed seasoning or a sauce. It did come with a little pot of relish on the side but this would have worked better in the wrap itself which was just stodgy and soggy and not very appealing. The frothy cappuccino, friendly service and decor did save the experience a little but the food was pretty disappointing overall. read more

The crepe I was served here was probably the biggest crepe I've ever seen. Now, that might not mean much to a crepe-aficionado but I was seriously surprised by the size. This was a meal AND a desert all in one. Anderson's have a big selection of sweet and savoury crepes and we went for the pavlova and peach and vanilla one which was served with ice cream. Both really generous portions. Crepe is not the only thing you can get here, they have a 'proper food' menu and wine list as well. It's quite nice on the inside with an open kitchen right in the middle of the room. There are two small tables outside if you are lucky and you get here on a sunny day. A big let down for me was the coffee, which wasn't good at all but other than that, if I ever get a craving for crepe again, I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

Ah Andersons. You used to be my favourite spot on a Sunday afternoon for sweet crepes. But the last few times I've been here the service and the standard of food have slipped in a big way. When it first opened, although always busy, the servers were nice and friendly and food came swiftly from the open kitchen. But the last two times I've been there, the service was slow with the staff actively avoiding eye contact as they know you are going to be looking for your food. When it's busy, it can be quite cramped and hard to move around between tables. And the noise level is fairly epic too. The portions are big but the Banoffee crepe I had the last time I was here was over cooked with no effort made to slice the banana and biscuits into edible mouthfuls. Plus the thimbleful of creamers just insulting. If I'm gonna eat a big, dirty heart attack inducing crepe, make it worth my while! My friends bread and dips were pretty bland too, you'd get better hummus in Tesco. And it's not cheap either. Anyway the upshot of this is that I have a new love in Drumcondra, Le Petit Breton. But ssshh don't tell everyone about it or it could get ruined like Andersons! read more

We stopped in on one recent morning to fulfill two needs: delicious crepes, and a few minutes of WiFi access. Yelp assured us of the crepes, and we called ahead to confirm the WiFi. We plonked ourselves down in the back of the place (very cozy) and ordered a couple of delicious sounding crepes. Good start. But then our various overprices email machines couldn't see any wireless networks... ominous. I inquired and was told that no, they didn't have WiFi in the back, but maybe if we sat near the window we would get a signal. So we scuttled to the front of the shop and discovered that the network required a password. Flagged our waitress again and she gave us the key, which didn't work. We really didn't feel like turning our breakfast into a technical debugging session so we didn't pursue it, but it did rub a little. We came here primarily for the WiFi and they just didn't have it. As I was starting to get worked up over this, our crepes arrived and much was forgiven. I never met a crepe I didn't like and as Yelp promised, Andersons delivered. If I lived in Drumcondra their apple and cinnamon would become a dietary staple. That counts as a fruit, right? read more

Still fantastic. New extended brekkie menu that looks like it been designed to entice the "but I don't like crepes or galettes" crowd. Will do them no harm at all. What's brilliant about Anderson's Creperie is that (two?, three?) years since they opened - the standard has been maintained completely, and it has basically lodged itself in to the local area as an "institution" - especially at the weekends for the long lazy brunch. Highlights are still the crepes (for those with sweet bias) and the galettes (for those who lean towards savoury). I am reliably informed that their simple, basic lemon crepe is one of the finest you can get in Ireland, never mind Dublin. read more

No better place for a lazy Sunday breakfast than Andersons! I'm partial to the All Day Breakfast Galette - love the relish that comes with it and the delicious roast potatoes. Not sure about the salad that comes with every galette (just doesn't scream "Breakfast" to me!) but the dressing is lovely and tangy. Haven't yet tried the sweet crepes but they look fantastic. They have a nice selection of baked goods as well at the front counter - their mince pies last Christmas were to die for! Really liked the exterior of this café, very cute and cosy looking neighbourhood. The open kitchen is pretty class too, it always gets brownie points for me. The seating and service did not quite match what had gone before but was still more than adequate. It was the breakfast crepe itself that has left Andersons Creperie with a middling 3 stars. They serve the best crepes I've eaten. Savoury or sweet you can't go wrong. They also to great salads and 'non' crepe options - the duck tartlet is delicious. Coffee is always good regardless of the barista. read more

Ham, mushroom, spinach, tomato and Gubeen cheese enclosed in a buckwheat galette served with a sunny side up runny fried egg on top. Place is calm and warm. Perfect to sneak in and skedaddle out of. It is a blessing and a curse at the same time that I live right around the corner from Andersons. I love me some pancake madness every now and then but when you know that you could have the Crepe of your dreams just a few meters away, there is no point turning on the hub. What I love about Andersons is that they not only do amazing Crepes but also other delicious breakfast/lunch-y type foods. Everything I had in there was just straight up heaven. What I don't like so much are the prices. I have never gotten out of that shop with spending less than 15€. What you get for your money is worth it but its not the place to come to often (if you're a student or on a budget). The other thing is the staff: Andersons is a really small space that's just crammed with tables. I would hate my life too working in such a narrow area that is ALWAYS full, but at least put on a brave face! Those waitresses are miserable and slow. I don't care though cause they show a bit of teeth when you leave a tip and when I leave I always just remember the amazing food! It's a bit out of town but it's always busy, so make a reservation but if you want to feel very french and very modern, have a bit of cash overflow and a hunch for Crepes, give it a go! read more

This is my local for coffees, breakfast, and lunch, so it's painful to give it only three stars, when I would have given it 5 just two years ago. The variety and quality of the crepes and galettes is very high, and the coffee is impeccable. Combine that with a quaint location that seems so much more removed from the busy north-south thoroughfare of Drumcondra road than it is, and you've got a hidden gem of french cuisine. The back of the cafe can be a little cramped, but the window seats at the front are the perfect place to enjoy a late breakfast galette with a latte. The reason I can't give it the stars it's due, is that time and again the service seems to have deteriorated from what it once was. There used to be an impeccable maitre d' who appears to have since left. A friend had her lunch spoiled by two of the staff arguing openly about another member of the staff. And in general the service seems less attentive, regular and personal. This could be the 5-star gem of Drumcondra, but they'll need to clean up their act to match the quality of their food. read more

My first time visiting Andersons Cafe and Creperie and I have to say I really enjoy it. We got a cosy little window seat and admired the decor, it is rustic, cosy and subtle but very warm and welcoming. I liked it a lot. It made me want to stay longer. I had a delicious breakfast buckwheat crepe filled with sausages, bacon, mushrooms and topped with a fried egg, and it was so good and very filling. My friend had a banoffie sweet crepe and it looked so good and they said it was mighty tasty. The coffee was great too. I'm a sucker for savory crepes and Anderson's covers that well! A varied menu that has something for everyone with wonderful flavors that never disappoint! The service can be slow and it is difficult to get a table on the weekends but still a favorite spot for Sunday brunch! Word of warning for Coeliacs- really GREAT gluten free crepes however the servers have a tendency to be a bit forgetful and can inadvertently contaminate a plate with shared sauces, butters, or placing gluten free items on a contaminated surface (toaster!); easily avoided with a bit of vigilance. read more

I live in the area and frequented Andersons quite a lot up until about 12 months ago, over the last month I have returned for a couple of visits. I have to say that I think its gone downhill somewhat. Look its grand if you want to grab a bite to eat. The galettes are tasty and theres a reasonable variety to them. The menu is fine and you can usually find something interesting on there. The ingredients are good but for what is essentially (dare I say) French peasent food definitely somewhat over priced. I would describe the decor and layout as unremarkable. Price wise, your looking at around €20 for breakfast, coffee and a scone or whatever. As mentioned in another recent post however I would describe the service as very poor. Staff are not particularly helpful and simply quite rude by times. I think this may have something to do with the fact that it can really be quite busy at peak times and they are taking the Ryanair approach.........quick turnaround! I would think that the reason it gets other good reviews is due to the fact that theres not much else in that area but hey thats not a good enough reason to describe it as wonderful. Bottom line, food is fine but for service and surroundings, you can do better. read more

we live nearby. went there 3 times this week to pick up takeaway. first time, stood for 10 minutes while staff ignored me. second time for a scone and cofffee take away the coldness of the waitress matched the cold scone, i reminded her 3 times i wanted it heated up as a treat for my 2 year old, still got a cold scone. finally my husband and i went in to enquire about the jazz nites at 20.10, not to eat and were ordered out of the place!! this was a lady in a grotty uniform and who knows we are regulars. i agree with previous comments, nice food nice building horrific staff.. owner has to do something about this or fear loosing regulars...
