I bought a car in September of 2025, I asked specific questions about the car and made sure that the service contract that was told to me would cover certain things. I was told it covered everything but the tires, and general maintenance. I had the car one day and the check engine light came on; I called about this and was told they would fix it for free. I later learned that my cigarette lighter and two USB ports did not work also, I asked why these weren't fixed as I was promised by Duncan. I called and was directed towards Eric in the service department, who stated that they would fix all the problems that was wrong. I went to AutoZone and O'Reillys to have the check engine light diagnosed, and it stated both O2 sensors and my catalytic converter both were malfunctioning, at the same time my parking brake kept engaging while I was driving down the road. When I took my car into the service department in Newton, and told Eric what was wrong with my car, he told me since I had only had it 3 days it would all be covered, under the maintenance warranty. I thought okay, until the service diagnostic tech came in and told Eric, there was nothing wrong with any of my fuses, and it was two different pieces, and it was NOT my O2 sensors it was my 2 catalytic converters. To make a long story short, it took Eric and his team from September to December to fix these two O2 sensors, a catalytic converter, two usb ports, a parking brake, and a cigarette lighter that we were told had no power to it and they didn't know why so they put an external one on the car. Now I kept my payments up on the car. On December 23rd, 2025, as I was coming back and was two hours from home all of a sudden, I lost all power to my car. This was literally one week after they installed this external cigarette lighter where the wires were exposed into my car. For two weeks we fought with Eric, about the problem with the car. After which he told me that it was an electrical problem and that it was the alternator had gone out and was replaced, HOWEVER, my HAVC module had went out and we had no heat or ac in the car now. This was caused by low voltage in a car, and when I pointed out none of this started until they put the external cigarette lighter and the other one had no power... I was told that isn't how this works. I was told he got the claims department to agree to me paying $100 as a deductible and I asked why, when this is leading back to them and their work. I was told then I could just pay $656 for the alternator and come get the car as they couldn't find the part for the HAVC, I asked for the part number, and after he searched, he finally found the part number. I got online and found the part in 10 minutes. At this point my brother had to call and talk to Eric, and so did my husband because as a woman he made sure to talk down to me as if I was stupid. Another week went by and I refused to make anymore payments on this 2018 Chevy Traverse, as the last time I talked to Eric, he told me well you bought a used car did you not think anything would be wrong with it,... as I stated to him I knew things would go wrong but when I am paying $640 a month for a car, I have a total of 6 weeks out of 4 months, there is a problem. So, when my brother and husband called Eric, the price was somehow still $656 because he never turned it into the claims department due to mine and his disagreement over the alternator. This is retaliatory action, and then the $656 was for all of the parts, but when questioned how that was the same price as the alternator by itself, how was that possible if they put in the new HAVC module. The alternator price changed to only $474 dollars, and the rest was labor. So, either they didn't fix the module, or they were lying... The best Eric could do all of a sudden was we pay $600 for the alternator; this was after telling me I only had to pay $100 for the co pay.We started to question the service contract we had, as in the paperwork it is labelled under Assurant Extended Warranty, we called Assurant and they had no record of this $2,200 dollar we were charged for this in our contract with Anderson's We contacted Anderson's throughout this, the receptionist, informed us, that service contract isn't through Assurant, it's just the paper we use, and its though us, and you just pay the co-pay to us, and Duncan made sure to tell us, Well I can't do anything about this, but would check into it, and we needed to stop yelling at him. I never yelled. Neither he nor Eric ever called us back unless we called back-to-back until they answered. This is again deceptive practices, as you can't use other businesses papers to do a contract and not inform the person signing the contract. We have since told them to keep the car, as we were not going to make anymore payments on it, and have also filed a report with the BBB, and Attorney General of Illinois. Do NOT ever buy a car from these scamming pos. If you are 10 days late on a payment they will come and repo your car, charge you 500$ and make you pay 3 months of payments to get your car back. They will double charge payments in they only getting 1 star because it made me add 1. read more

I don't leave reviews like this lightly, but people deserve a heads-up before dealing with Anderson & Sons. From day one, there were issues with the vehicle that were clearly discussed at purchase and agreed to be fixed--undercarriage concerns, seat back problems, and other delivery-related items. None of it was ever addressed. We followed up multiple times over an extended period, with documentation, and got nothing but delays, excuses, or silence. Communication was basically nonexistent--until it came time to collect money. Then suddenly, they're very responsive. The situation escalated when the vehicle was repossessed while we were only 18 days behind and after we had already communicated with them the day before about payment. No attempt to work with us--just straight to repossession. It gets worse. During the repo: Our vehicle was damaged Another vehicle on our property was moved and damaged Police had to be involved After that, trying to get basic information--like where the vehicle even was--turned into another headache. We were initially refused that information, which made an already stressful situation even worse. We eventually got the vehicle back, but only after paying under protest. Throughout all of this, the attitude from staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional--especially when we asked reasonable questions or tried to resolve issues. At this point, we've filed complaints with the Illinois Attorney General and the Illinois Secretary of State. If you're considering buying from here: Get everything in writing. Double-check every charge. And be prepared to chase them down for anything they promise. There are better options out there. read more

This place is a scam they claimed to have fixed/ put a new transmission in my cord edge when I first got it they keep drawing money out of my account that I don't even owe I'm up to date on payments when the car broke down the first time the coil pack was bad but they "replaced" it we have had to replace pretty much everything on the car.
