I wrestled in college and have always had mid back problems that some days even kept me from being able to go in to work. I honestly just started to accept the pain and that it was always going to be like this. Then my wife Jessica told me about Dr. Chris and how is was able to help her with her lower back problems she has had since our first child. I knew after our first visit that this guy was the real deal. Most Chiropractors just pop you real quick and move on but Dr. Chris gave me exercises, stretches and took the time to meet with me and and explain what it was I should expect and on what time framed. I loved that! By the end of my second week in treatment I noticed my morning stiffness was less and my wife noticed I wasn't as grumpy! I have a…read morecompressed L3, 4, and 5 due to a motorcycle accident 33 years ago and have had Left Side Sciatica symptoms since then. The symptoms progressively get worse as the years go by and my only option is to fuse my spine with zero guarantees. A year ago, the sciatica started to affect my right side and I could not drive for more than 10-15 minutes without pain and a need to stop and walk around a bit before trying another 10-15 minutes. I could not even ride as a passenger. I saw an add for NewEdge Chiropractic who was offering spinal decompression. Now, being a 33 year old injury, I did not believe I could get relief. I committed to a three month trial twice a week with decompression and adjustments as a last ditch effort. As I approached 3 months, I was noticing some small changes on my left leg/foot, but most impressive was that my right side sciatica issue was completely gone. I went to an internal medicine doctor and had many tests that did no good at all. Next, I went to a holistic doctor who said I had Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth or SIBO. With that diagnosis he put me a six-month long regiment of prescriptions, vitamins, minerals, and various other items. One prescription I got through a Canadian pharmacy. This all helped some as far as frequency of bouts of pain. Then Dr. Kyle Bryant from ICE clinic asked if I would consider Cold Laser Therapy treatments. I agreed to do so. It was awesome. If you don't mind the four hour drive each way, I highly recommend OHSU in Portland or Beaverton, Oregon. Great staff. Up-to-date on the latest and greatest. They will do virtual appointments. They assured me it would be fine for me to commute four hours after hip replacement. Kind of glad he turned me down because I do believe the surgeons at OHSU are superior to Dr. Stanfield.
