Once they got approvals they needed, they removed the roof in one day, did a test portion, got the inspector approval and finished it on another day. Like with our neighbor's house, they kept the area around the house cleaned every day. They replaced all the rain gutters and painted or replaced all the pipes/vents to match the roof color. When I got back, Cody's truck was gone, there were a lot of cut sheets of tile, but nothing on the wall and no Cody. I found a message from him on Yelp asking me to call him, which I did. It turns out he has "lost confidence" and abandoned the job. He said he tried to tell my wife before leaving, but she was unaware of this. When I spoke to Cody on the phone he indicated that I didn't owe him anything, and did offer to put me in touch with someone he felt could do the job. I didn't go with his recommendation mainly because I didn't have enough trust in him to make that choice. The guy I did hire was able to reuse some of the cut tile Code had left, but we needed to buy 5 more sheets nevertheless. There may be lots of things Cody is good at, but tiling a backsplash with herringbone tile sheets is not one of them, and abandoning a job is just not OK.

Tony had to come back to fix the door trying to tell me my wall of the house wasn't level. The bottom of the door on the right side stuck out about a 1/2 inch from the wall so there would be no way I could add trim to it. Then Tony started working on my windows and Tony left the outside of the windows needing many more repairs. Tony had gotten defective widows and then the lady Emma told me I had to pay extra to take them out to return them to Lowes and exchange them. I said what? That isn't my fault the windows were defective and if Tony knew so much about windows Tony should have known they were defective and never put them in the first place. Update: Tony cracked my brand new door jamb all along one side where he failed to put the door shims in properly. It was a brand new prehung door I had bought from Lowes for $220 and now costs more, and the first time he touched it he ruined it. The windows were not defective but were the wrong type he had purchased. He bought sliding windows instead of vertical windows and proceeded to install two of them before I put a stop to it. Tony got all mad at me when I told him "I should just have hired someone that specializes in door and windows". So Tony started saying, "you don't think I'm a professional". I should have told him, "obviously you are not a professional if you can't buy the correct windows".

Dealing with my husband in and out of the hospital over a 4 month period and also trying to get this done was difficult, but they were so easy to deal with and I never felt I needed to worry about being out there to watch every step of the process. I called Can-Am Roofing when they first opened on Monday morning. General Manager, "Jamie Steen," was on site within two hours of my call. The weak link in the roof is the chimney and, based upon decades of problem-solving, was Jamie's first thought. Jamie inspected via the attic and saw the water leak path from the chimney, down a girder, to a light fixture in the kitchen. Then Jamie inspected the chimney, as well as the whole roof. During all facets of the inspection, Jamie provided me with a running commentary and photographs. Jamie then provided an estimate with details of the repair. Today, Thursday, Jamie and his team, "Hector" and "William," completed the repairs, and improved on other facets of the chimney.
