When I called to express my concern, I was told they "inspected every layer" and it wasn't like that when it was in their possession. However, some of the blood is on the back side of lace appliques, and the layer of fabric between my body and the appliqué is not bloody, which leads me to believe it was stained during the making of it. Instead of apologizing, offering to pay for dry cleaning, etc., I was instantly blamed for something that I did not do. Moreover, I had an issue of ordering a lined gown and paying for a lined gown, but receiving an unlined gown. The store so graciously refunded the difference between unlined and lined versions, but the refunded amount doesn't cover alterations to make it lined. I loved the entire process of buying a gown from here, but am horribly dissatisfied and disappointed with their professionalism and overall attitude.

Cold and intimidating sales staff The sales staff were cold, unhelpful, and, in my experience, came across as intimidating rather than supportive. Wedding dress shopping should be an exciting experience, not one where a bride feels bullied into making a decision. 3. Extremely high prices The prices are extremely high compared with other places. We bought a dress for my other daughter elsewhere, and the veil was included for free. 4. Alterations were expensive and a disaster The alterations were not only overpriced, but the results were extremely disappointing. For something as important as a wedding dress, I expected much better workmanship and service. Weddings are already stressful enough. Unfortunately, the moment some businesses hear the word "wedding," the prices seem to go up dramatically. My advice: Shop around. There are plenty of less pretentious places where you can find beautiful wedding dresses for a fraction of the price. You can save thousands of dollars and spend that money on something much more enjoyable--like a massage, a wonderful dinner, and, most importantly, avoiding the headache.

I stopped in without an appointment and was immediately helped out. The salesperson pulled several dresses she thought would best fit my style and body type. I didn't have a dress in mind, so her expertise was greatly appreciated. I found my dress that day and much to my surprise, the prices were lower than what I had seen at chain stores for much better quality dresses. Not only that, but every dress is made specifically for the bride, so I was able to customize the fabric, color, neckline and straps. I used Francia for the alterations as well and the owner was extremely courteous and professional, not to mention a total sweetheart. I loved going in for my fittings and was always welcome to bring in my mom and at least one or two of my bridesmaids. The alterations were done on time and my dress was beautiful and fit like a glove on my wedding day. While I was only looking for my wedding dress, Francia also has a fantastic selection of mother of the bride/groom dresses (both moms found adorable dresses) and bridesmaid/homecoming/prom dresses (my teenage sister tried on a few of these too).

I am getting married in a small court wedding, but still want a long wedding gown. I forgot that ladies name, but she was fabulous with me, super sweet, fully dressed me up in the dress and didn't leave any details behind. Dress was a lot more than I wanted to spend, but management worked with me to make it work for my budget, super sweet of them by the way. Dress obviously had to be altered since it was a sample gown and a couple things to fix. I was quoted a very good rate for my dress alterations that I couldn't say no to. However, upon coming in for my first appointment I was told a price that was 3-4X more for alterations, which everyone was surprised about the quote I received. I almost wonder if this affected my dress alterations in any way since I didn't pay as much as I should. Maybe this meant don't do a good job? Not sure- I was told there is going to be a button sewn on the back of the dress, so I don't have to carry it. I brought this up to the alterations lady and she said, "No, you can just carry it with the loop from the back of the dress".... Maybe she forgot to do this? Disappointed because I will have to buy another dress now to change into since I don't want to carry it all day long. The manager told me she would come in on the day I receive my altered dress to help me pick out a veil and because the alterations lady cancelled on me in the beginning due to being sick, this manager never knew the date of my new appointment and probably forgot or no one told her. Thank god I ordered one off of Amazon for $40 and it looks fabulous with lace. $100-700 for a veil in a crappy condition? Yeah no, not for a one day event. I honestly think the most disappointing thing with all of this is that I bought a case for my dress $20, so it don't get it DIRTY and the alterations lady literally dragged it on the FLOOR when giving me the dress to try on. She couldn't even present my dress in a professional way in the case I bought. I had this dress cleaned prior (my mistake) and now I look at it and it's dirty AGAIN and will have to send it out again and spend another couple hundred! I was so shocked and wanted to get out of there ASAP. But, she forgets to give me the case for my dress, so I have to ask her for it. She disappears in the back for 10-15min. Who knows what she was doing back there. Overall I was happy in the beginning that they found my dress, super sweet to me, but in the end after the purchase was made I wasn't treated as special as I wanted to have been treated. This is my special day and it seemed like the only person who actually cared was the lady who actually found me my perfect dress. P.S Some ladies who work here must really hate their work because attitude is all over their faces, no smiles, no excitement, and no passion for their work anymore. Disappointing because I have a higher budget for my wedding reception dress and I don't think I will be coming back here to make that purchase. I was told to come in again for the tiara. I asked the associate about coming in again for the tiara because I lived kind of far and let her know this. She did not mention to me that they were moving locations a WEEK later! I called a week later to say that I'd like to come in to pick up the tiara (they sold the last one), but then they added that they are moving locations to Lombard and are pretty much packed up. This was unprofessional from the beginning since they could have mentioned this and saved my time and commute! I then was made aware that I could order the tiara through the phone and have it shipped to me since I told the associate that I live even FURTHER from Lombard. The tiara was ordered and no comments were made about picking up the tiara in store. They put my address on the invoice and told me it would be shipped to me. They added a shipping fee to my transaction. I called for weeks for a status update, but no one would try to help. THEN, they told me that another shipping fee would be added in addition to ship it to my house, otherwise I would have to come in the store to pick up the tiara. Every associate that I spoke with on the phone was rude and would not relay the message to a manager! I've been calling and asking to speak with the manager for MONTHS! Two emails were sent, still waiting for a reply on the second one. The first email was sent mid-August and a reply was given a MONTH LATER! The manager still didn't address added charges, poor customer service, and all the other issues I've been inquiring about. I'm still waiting to hear back from the non-existent manager about all this, as well as the tiara that was told to ship out at the MOST 6 weeks. It's been well over 3 months now. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and sad that they are providing this kind of customer service to brides who are trying to enjoy this special time in their life! Turned out - having Brooke around really helped us with staying on track, planning and the overall timing of everything we needed to do. Everyone at Tying the Knot is very helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt like I was bothering them with any of my 1001 questions I may have had (or more). Getting married and all of the planning is a really big deal and it takes a lot of planning that most people don't have the time for. Consider the value of your time and invest that to some great wedding planners at Tying the Knot. What an unprofessional nightmare…read more Needed two nightgowns hemmed. Both were returned with crooked stitching and one in the wrong color from the original (black versus red) with an hole. In order to re-do the repair, the seamstress demanded that I purchase the thread. The spool was insufficient and the work remains incomplete. When contacted by phone the seamstress abruptly says she does not have time to purchase additional thread and disconnects the call. Full cash payment is required before work is performed.
